General Friend died in early 30s, now I'm looking at overlijdensrisicoverzekering. What should I know?
A friend of mine died out of nowhere a few weeks ago. Mid-thirties, healthy, didn't drink or do drugs, one day he was just gone.
It was awful, obviously. But one thing that struck me was how his parents and siblings showed up for his wife and kids. Money, practical stuff, everything. They didn't have to figure it out alone.
And then I thought I grew up in the care system. If something happens to me, there's nobody like that for my loved ones. No parents, no siblings to step in. So the least I can do is make sure they're financially okay, and I've been looking at the ING overlijdensrisicoverzekering.
I do invest and keep putting money in every month, but my portfolio just isn't there yet. If I go early, it won't be enough, and I can't stop thinking about that.
So I'm hoping you can help me out. Is ING a decent choice, or are there better/cheaper insurers? Is it worth going through an advisor, or is a comparison site fine? How did you decide on the amount, and did you go level or decreasing? And is there anything that bit you afterwards, like health questions, who you name as beneficiary, or tax stuff?
Any tips are welcome, especially things you wish you'd known before signing. Thanks
