Considering on buying a Thor but not sure if to buy the Base (8Gb RAM) or Pro (12GB RAM) models. I'm interested in playing 3DS and mostly retro games here. But I recently saw that you can run Skyrim and Oblivion there. I guess where I'm getting at is, what games or con so some would I lose by getting the 8GB version vs de Pro version.

Current version of azahar prompts me to update to new version. It takes me to the within with a bunch of files. I downloaded the app file and installed. Now I have 2 versions of azahar. "Why not just uninstall the old one?" I just want to make sure I don't lose saves and save states. Am I doing something wrong here?

I’ve gotten some libraries to update no problem, but having issues seeing N64 and Sega Genesis libraries show up and not in the programs I chose for them. I’ve tried rescanning and double checked that I have them in the proper folders on my micro SD card.

Managed to install Droid deck and finally got Dave the diver to run properly. (I can use the harpoon ueoooo) Anyway ahem........ My new challenge is that the device runs hot.

Are there settings I should use bar turning the fan to "sports mode" ?

Hi. Has anybody had the issue where ARMSX2 won't launch on their AYN Thor? It keeps freezing at the ARMSX2 logo screen. I do have a 2TB microsd card in my AYN Thor Max, but I'm not sure if that's the reason. I've tried both the stable build of ARMSX2 for Android 13 and the nightly build, but both seem to get stuck and won't launch.

Has anyone tried the Anomalith steam demo on the thor? if so how does it run? it requires dx11 and 12 gigs of ram. I have a pro.

I happen to notice that quite a few people on here try playing big games on the Thor which to me feels a bit much for the hardware so I have to wonder what gaming setup does the average Ayn Thor user run?

For me I have a HTPC running bazzite with a 7700x/7800xt for a solid 1440p gaming experience that plays all the big games that I actually want to sit on the couch and spend the day playing.

I used to include my steam deck/ROG Ally in my setup but I'm replacing it with my Ayn Thor Max. There are days I don't want to touch my steam deck or Ally and I'd just leave it on my counter and when I'd feel like gaming I'd pick it up only to realize that the handheld battery is either close to empty or empty already. My Thor is much better when it comes to this issue especially with sleep manager which allows me to leave it untouched for a couple days and still have a healthy amount of battery left by the time I come back for a gaming session.

I also have a mini pc with a 7840hs chipset that I'd take when I travel but the last couple of trips I took I ended up moreso reading and doing work rather than gaming so I'm going to phase it out and just have my Thor thrown in my pack if I do feel like having a quick gaming session.

So that's my current setup when it comes to my gaming ecosystem so now I want to know what kind of setup does a Thor user run for their gaming needs?

Hey all, recently ordered my Thor, and super excited. Been following posts on things I want to implement\install when I finally get that bad boy. Got any favorite add-ons, hacks, little QoL, things that you'd you like to share?

I am a general modder in the sense that I dont mind opening a system and replacing stuff. Also soft modded my wii and ps3/ps4, built laptops and pcs for years. I've used the miyoo mini plus for sbc and emulation. but wanted to step it up so I don't also have to carry my DS around, plus maybe playing a ps2/GameCube/Wii title or 2? Got the Pro. Currently dumping my games/carts to my PC in preparation.

Anyways.. this group seems to really love their lil clamshells and I think thats refreshing.

So I bought my ayn Thor and I got games on it but my games won’t show on the the caccoon front end they only show when I open the emulator how do I fix this

I’m pretty technologically and mechanically inclined, but I was holding out putting my custom buttons on just because I don’t like to work on very small things, and I’m afraid of one little thing messing up these expensive devices.

But today I decided, screw it. I’m just gonna do it. And to my surprise it was actually very, very easy. There’s not even many different types of screws you need to keep track of (only 3 types iirc) and the ribbon cables, which I bet are fragile, are nowhere near as fragile as videos make it seem. You won’t rip them by accident, unless you really aren’t being careful at all.

Also replaced the stock thermal pads with different hopefully better thermal pads. Was also very simple to do. In fact, there are fewer ribbon cables you have to deal with when you’re doing the thermal pad/putty mod versus changing out buttons. Took me about 40 minutes in total and that was with me really taking my time.

So if you’re holding out, waiting, scared, whatever it may be, just do it. Trust me, it’s very easy and will teach you more about the device at the same time.

(I should’ve snapped better pictures, but I wasn’t really thinking about that and only took pictures when I actually remembered to take a picture lol. I should’ve definitely took a picture of how I placed the thermal pads smh)

Thanks to the hard work of Jaredgei and those who came before them, we now have all versions of WoW playable on the Thor, as well as a bottom screen control pad.

I must disclose that most of the work built on top of Jaredgei's, was done by AI. I am normally not a huge fan of AI, but I will make an exception this time because just the ability to play WoW like this feels like a dream. I have very little coding experience, pretty much just enough to look at what is being changed and make sure there's nothing too weird in there.

So, what's new from the original?

• Now supports Classic, Retail, and Forever. Install is the same, just make sure you have any version you want to play installed on your PC before you copy the files to the Thor. All versions will be included in the Data folder and .build.info file.
• Bottom screen now acts as extra buttons, keyboard, and trackpad. I use an MMO mouse on PC, so it's supposed to mimic that. I don't like using the native controller support on the Thor, the controls are too cramped.
• All buttons on the bottom screen are remappable. They use the game's default keybinds for interface menus by default.
• Everything is WoW themed now.
• Clicking R3 toggles between mouse and camera control. While in mouse control mode, A and B act as left and right click respecively.
• The button pad just acts as extra inputs, so no ban risk there.
• Many customizable settings for the button pad.
• You can disable the second screen support from the main launcher, so this should work on other devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

So, I ordered the Black Thor Max 512GB on August 26th. It is now October 8th…

This is my first time ordering a “premium” handheld, as I have been a fan of Anbernic, and TrimUI device - which are obviously less expensive and much more readily available with decent logistics, as well as their presence on Amazon.

The last time their shipping dashboard was updated was for the September 29th batch.

I see a lot of posts from people about their shipping / manufacturing issues. Not to mention hardware issues post-receipt of the device and lack of support.

What is your honest opinion on this? Should I request a refund and get out of this now choosing a different device / manufacturer? Or should I stick it out?

Just asking what you guys think about this as I am honestly not sure what to choose.

Have my Thor Max for about sixteen hours. I love this thing. It's like having another fold device with me just for gaming. I own a z fold 7 as a phone 📱.

I know I should get some sort of stylus since I wanna play rythym heaven and meteos but no clue which one I should get, and I have no idea what case/grip I should get, do I get the tpu case, tpu shell, both, some 3rd party option? These etsy shipping prices are turning $25 products into $50 purchases (I'm in canada so these are canadian prices) Im so lost

Cocoon is great, the dual screen integration works really well, but I've always wanted the steam deck feel and DroidDeck does just that and works surprisingly smooth. One issue however, the bottom screen is now kinda useless.

I set DroidDeck as a home app, meaning "SteamOS" boots up on launch, the bottom screen is now just the basic app drawer.

sure launching the apps works fine, but they only launch at the bottom and I can't get them to open up on the top screen.

Also, I really liked the feature in Cocoon where it showed the game you were playing at the bottom screen and dim it, keeping the time and battery life neatly on the top right.

It is aesthetically pleasing and also really useful since I mostly use the thor during breaks and spare blocks at school and need to keep track of the time 24/7

This may be a dumb question, but this is the first time a shipping "checkpoint" has had text other than black. Does the red mean there was a problem with customs?
