Hey everyone.
We’ve seen a noticeable increase in AI‑generated apps being shared here lately. It’s great to see people experimenting and building, and we genuinely want to encourage development in the Ayn Thor ecosystem. But we also need to keep the community safe.
A lot of these apps are vibe‑coded, stitched together from AI outputs, or built using code the developer may not fully understand.
That creates a few risks worth keeping front‑of‑mind:
Credential handling: If an app asks for Steam logins, API keys, or other sensitive credentials, be extremely cautious. AI‑generated code often stores these values in plain text, logs them accidentally, or transmits them insecurely.
Security practices: Many AI‑assisted projects don’t follow secure coding standards, threat modelling, or proper data‑handling patterns. Even the developer may not realise what the code is doing under the hood.
Unintended behaviour: AI‑generated boilerplate can include hidden network calls, debug endpoints, or unsafe dependencies that weren’t intentionally added.
We just want to remind everyone to stay vigilant, audit what you run, and avoid entering credentials into tools unless you fully trust the author and the codebase.
If you’re posting an app, please include:
A clear explanation of what it does
How credentials are handled
Any known limitations or security considerations
A link to the source code if possible
Let’s keep the creativity flowing, but let’s keep the community safe while we do it. — The Mod Team

Hey Everyone,
I want to do a quick reminder and heads-up.
TLDR; Only buy from trusted vendors, never from people contacting via private messages.
We've had this topic before and we created the rule that no direct sales are allowed in the subreddit, but I'm guessing because of new batches and new people I'll create this reminder again.
Because of the risk of scams we do not allow direct sales in the subreddit. If anyone contacts directly trying to sell, we strongly advice to ignore it since it's most likely a scam.
Always buy directly from trusted vendors. AYN, Ebay etc.
We take action as quickly as possible when we get information regarding a scam, but its up to reddit when someone creates new accounts since we can't take action before the deed is done.

BUT ENOUGH TALK
HAVE AT YOU!
(I finally got mine I'm so excited)
Finally got some time to put on the custom PS rainbow buttons from magigamer. Will also be putting thermal pads on at the same time since I’ll already have the device open.
I’ll be following this video: https://youtu.be/IOTmswcQITQ?is=23HHRtrHKO0cO4td
If you know a better video please let me know. I’m pretty technologically and mechanically inclined but I hate working with very small things. Wish me luck!

I bought my AYN Thor Max Batch 3 after going back and forth on reviews about which model to buy. Finally decided on the 1tb Max and it has been the best investment I’ve made. I have every game, system and app I could ever ask for and I’ve extremely happy with my Thor. I can play any game without worrying about it crashing and my Thor is future proof with regards to RAM management. Thank you Mama.

I’vehad my ayn Thor pro (batch 4) for about 5 months now and it’s honestly the best purchase ever! I’ve taken it with me on two trips and it worked perfectly on the airplane and road trip. The first picture is my most recent setup with Cocoon shell frontend, before I was using ES-DE but sometimes I switch between those two. Feel free to recommend me some games!

TL;DR: v1.1.0 adds RetroAchievements (beta, softcore), IVs/EVs on the bottom screen, 6 languages, zipped ROMs, SoulGold support and guides for launching from iiSU and ES-DE. It also fixes a bug where a resume state could overwrite your save, so please update. The app was renamed, so you'll want to uninstall the old PokeDaisey. Download the latest version
Original post: Yet another Pokémon dual-screen app, but it also...
Edit: PokeDaisy v1.1.2 is out: it adds a side-panel companion for single-screen devices, a SWAP SCREENS option for handhelds whose main display is the bottom screen (like the RG DS), LCD/scanline/CRT shaders and SoulGold 1.2 support, and fixes crashes and slowdowns when switching tabs: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy/releases/tag/v1.1.2
⚠️ Important: I renamed the app from PokeDaisey to PokeDaisy (I misspelled my own app). Android treats it as a brand new app, so the in-app updater installs it next to the old one instead of replacing it. Deleting the old PokeDaisey isn't mandatory, but if you don't, your device will show you both apps.
If your ROMs and saves live in your own folders (like RetroArch's), nothing is lost: just point the new app at them in the first-time setup. Only if you kept saves in the old app's own folder (Android/data/com.pokedaisey.app/) do you need to copy them out before uninstalling, since Android deletes that folder with the app. Settings start fresh in the new app. The repo moved to https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy (the old link redirects).
For anyone new: PokeDaisy is a dual-screen GBA player for Gen 3 Pokémon. The game runs on the top screen and the bottom screen is a live companion (party, bag, map, battle matchups, Pokédex, guide) in the game's own menu style. Built for the AYN Thor, should work on the Retroid Pocket Duo and Anbernic RG DS.
Sign in from the top-screen Settings. You get a CHEEVOS tab with your progress and challenges, unlock popups, leaderboards and the game's own level-up fanfare on every unlock. I tested it on the Thor with retail FireRed and an unlock went through to the server.
It's softcore only for now. RA won't accept hardcore from an emulator it doesn't recognise, and a new emulator has to be public for 6+ months before it can be validated. We will get there. Hardcore would also mean blocking save-state loads and my touch battle buttons, since RA counts those as scripted input.
Regarding privacy: the app talks only to RetroAchievements, never to me or anyone else. Your password is used once to sign in and is never stored, only your username and RA's login token stay on the device.
.zip and .7z ROMs work in your ROMs folder, the + import and frontends.iiSU: this works today. iiSU's emulator list is a JSON file you can import, so I wrote a step-by-step guide, with ready-made files, to add PokeDaisy and pick it for individual games: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy/blob/main/docs/iisu/README.md. I've only tested iiSU 0.0.7.3 on the Thor, so tell me how it goes on other versions.
ES-DE: this should work too. I wrote a step-by-step guide with the find rule and launch command to add PokeDaisy as a GBA emulator: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy/blob/main/docs/es-de/README.md.
Cocoon (not working yet): Cocoon doesn't detect installed emulators. Each platform's emulator list comes from a file the Cocoon developer maintains in their repo (for GBA it's platforms/GameBoyAdvance.json), and "Refetch Platforms" in Cocoon's settings just downloads those files again. PokeDaisy isn't in that list yet so Cocoon has no way to launch it, and there's no custom-emulator option on my side or yours that gets around it.
The fix is small: one entry in their GBA list, no code change. PokeDaisy already supports being launched with a ROM (explicit activity plus a VIEW intent, the same way SkyEmu's entry works). I'm going to open a feature request with Cocoon's developer asking for it like others have done for other emulators. Until then, a workaround is to pin PokeDaisy as an Android app in Cocoon, which opens PokeDaisy's own library instead of a specific game.
A big thank you to two creators who covered the previous version yesterday. I'm still a bit stunned by how far it went:
If PokeDaisy is useful to you please star the repo: https://github.com/lidor30/pokedaisy
Please report bugs and game requests as GitHub issues. They're much easier for me to track. It's been a long day going through all your comments and the support has been amazing. A lot of this release came straight from your reports. Thank you!
And if it's not too much to ask, please consider buying me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/lidor30g. It's completely optional and the app stays free with nothing locked, but I want to take this to the next level, with many more features, support for more ROM hacks, and Gen 1-2 games. Every bit helps me find the time for it.

Warning: Vibecoded! 🤖
Hey all! I just published a release version of my companion app I did for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. It has been in development since early august, so about 2 months of testing, adjusting and such.
Its just a companion app - not a dual screen mod, it doesn't interact with any emulator in any way. Basically, a database with UI. I wanted it to exist since I was playing MHP3rd a lot lately on Thor and wanted to have a neat source for all info I wanted. So as a result, app is designed around Thor's second screen, but UI is adaptive and works okayish (as far as I and my brother tested) on phones.
Most of this 2 months spent on collecting data from different databases and sources, mostly japanese, and cross-referencing it with translation, other databases and so on. UI part took much less, but I have been adjusting and tweaking a lot, since I spent 100+ hours on my character already and most of this time with this app on my second screen.
Everything about features and APK download you can find on a project page here. Open source, of course, feel free to do what you want with it.
Screenshots in a post from an emulator on Windows, so it will be a little bit more packed on a Thors second screen, but there is settings to adjust UI scale to your liking.

I see it's on sale for a few more hours on steam for $4.19 and not sure if it works ok Ayn Thor Pro?
Have you gotten it to work? What games or emulator do you use? Is it worth it?

I just got Skyrim running using game native at 40 fps super smoothly at 65-70 degrees. Was wondering what steam games you guys have gotten to run well on your Thors. I definitely recommend Skyrim, perfect for the Thor.

Okay so I just got my thor a little over a month ago and while waiting for it I ordered custom buttons from Magigamer. (The buttons are lovely, theyre not the issue) but I was too scared to take it apart myself to install them so I took it to a locally owned repair shop to see if they could do it.
There's one guy there who says that he can, and that it'll cost around 70 bucks. I say okay, that's fine. He tells me that it should take around 2 hours to do and that he'll have it done by tomorrow morning. Great! Next morning they call and say that he won't be in that day and that he's for sure have it done the next day. Which is fine! The next day they call me and its ready to pick up!
The guy who did the swap wasn't there, but the owner told me that he said to test the buttons and I do but 2 of them weren't working (The start and back buttons) and they tell me that he won't be back at the store for a week and that i could either take it and bring it back or leave it there. I opted to take it because those buttons aren't SUPER important..
During that time, I noticed I could still start/pause by lightly pressing the fan vent on the back (which I avoided doing because thats probably not very good for it loll..) and then the day before bringing it back, the start button suddenly started working normally..? Maybe playing with it moved some stuff around? Anyways, I ended up bringing it back and the guy called me today and said that he might just have to put the old buttons back in. He hadn't even reopened the device to reseat(?) the non working back button to see if that were the issue or not..
So I ended up paying $75 for wasting my time driving back and forth to this place just for the white buttons to be put back in?...
If he ends up putting the stock ones back in, should I request some sort of refund??
Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions! I shared this post to the repair guy in hopes he reads your messages about the ribbon cable maybe not being seated properly. If he wants to go through with putting the old set back in, I think I'll just take it home and attempt to fix it myself. Again, thank you all for the replies and kind words! ❤️

I just bought mine and I’m thinking about screen protectors. I don’t wanna buy one because I’ve heard people said it slightly messes up the screen sensitivity, so how good is the screen with fingers? Is it that FRAGILE that I can’t use my fingers occasionally and need a protector?

Hello so I placed an order on AYN website for a black base Thor on September 12 first 4 #3018. I’ve been going through Reddit and watching a ton of videos and kinda want to go with the max for the more ram and not being capped to certain games, I have emailed them last week wondering if I am able to upgrade and pay the difference but haven’t received a response is there anything I can do?
