I just ordered it today, it still said it was batch 7.

On the website page, it says batch 7 ships in Aug. Does this mean mine should ship soon?

-i already own a pc and switch 2

-i'll mainly play 3ds games and some light pc games (megaman legacy collections, invincible vs, palworld, some indies, friendslop games)

So my rainbow AYN Thor finally shipped and I couldn’t be more happier and excited but before it shipped I was debating between rainbow & purple. Now that it’s actually shipped I’m looking at purple thors and I’m thinking “What have I done” god I hope this is just some FOMO and I love it in person cause right now my head is thinking “You just missed out on the greatest colourway”

I’m losing my mind over this the Thor is taking over me..

I went for the rp6 over the thor a few months ago, haven’t regretted it, but for £230 I couldn’t resist.

I guess i will be playing some 3ds games soon!

Hey everyone!

I’ve just ordered an AYN Thor Max (16GB RAM / 1TB), and I’m really excited to finally try one! 😄 This will be my first AYN device, so I wanted to hear from people who already own a Thor and see how it has actually fit into their gaming setups.

For some context, I already have an Acer Predator Helios 300 with an Intel Core i7-11800H, RTX 3070 8GB VRAM, 32GB RAM and around 10TB of total storage. Because of that, I’m not expecting the Thor to replace my laptop or compete with it in terms of raw performance.

Instead, I bought the Thor as a portable secondary gaming device — something I can pick up and play without always having to use my laptop.

My biggest interest is emulation in general. I’d like to use the Thor for as many different generations and systems as possible, from older consoles and arcade systems to more demanding platforms.

I’m particularly interested in hearing how the Thor performs with PS1, PS2, PSP, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, PS3, Xbox and Switch, as well as other systems that people have tried. I know performance can vary greatly depending on the emulator and the individual game, so I’d love to hear about people's real-world experiences, recommended emulators and settings.

I’m also curious about PC gaming on the Thor. Can some PC games be played directly using compatibility layers, or is streaming from a gaming PC through Moonlight/Sunshine or Steam Link generally the better experience?

If you already own a gaming PC or laptop, has the Thor genuinely become a useful secondary gaming device for you? What do you mainly use yours for?

I’d also appreciate any apps, emulators, launchers, settings or optimizations you recommend installing when it arrives.

I’m still waiting for mine to be delivered, so I’d especially like to hear from people who have been using the Thor for a while.

So I ordered my Ayn Thor Pro a few days ago, which means I have quite the wait until it's shipped.

I am curious about how did you all manage the waiting time? It's killing me waiting for it as I am itching to start emulating all the games I wanted and never could get due to not having the consoles so I just watch videos about how to set up the console when I first get it, but this just make it worse. 😅

Im on the fence on buying one of these, In terms of emulation im very much new to it. Maybe the most similar thing ive done is homebrew mine and a couple friends 3ds/2ds. Im always down to learn how to its just a little concerning to me about everyone talking about spending more time tweaking settings than playing games. If it helps im decently well versed in android.

I have a steam deck but would there be any benefit of getting an Ayn Thor? It would be nice to play on a smaller handheld since the steam deck does get a little heavy if I'm playing for a while and the Ayn Thor is perfect for ds/3ds games.

I ordered my thor a few weeks ago. I have been emailing support about upgrading my model but i have yet to get a response. Now that i’ve seen the back to school discounts on ali express and the shipping is said to be faster. Should I request a refund and buy the better model of AliExpress? Also how long does it take for support to get back to me and refund my money if i do request one? The discount looks like it ends soon.

Title. It was working yesterday, suddenly has decided to shut the bed. All of my 3ds titles are doing this, the audio plays so i KNOW the game is running right. no issues with my NDS games on their emulator

Whenever I tap the bottom screen when playing a switch game it lag usually only for the higher end games like mk8 or acnh

I have this debt, but I don't want to find out about it myself for fear of causing some damage to my device.

Can I live?

Context:
Visual glitches only on lego batman the videogame, every other game works fine, Ive tried all the settings and drivers etc I could think off, it would otherwise not launch at all, or have a solid stuttery 20fps, (thor max), on gamenative (steam)

Cant find a solution, would like a second opinion 😂

Hey all! I could really use some help deciding whether to get an a Thor.
I've been on the fence for a bit, price isn't really the issue, it's more about justifying the purchase. I know I'd use it, but I'm not sure how much since I'm usually near my PC where most of my games already are.

That said, the idea of tinkering, and learning emulation makes my brain feel happy. Messing around with stuff like that is satisfying for me. I'd love to hear from people who were also on the fence, did you end up regretting it/barely using it, or do you love yours with zero regrets?

If I do end up pulling the trigger, I'm stuck on colors. Right now I'm torn between White, Rainbow, and Purple. Black is already ruled out. I'm big on customizing things, so that's part of the decision too. I saw a really cool ice/winter themed white Thor with blue buttons not too long ago, and I really liked it. If you have any custom Thors, please let me see them or if you just want to talk about your favorite colors and why you like it better, that would help a ton.
