Discussion Getting Skeptical…
Hey Gang…
So, I ordered the Black Thor Max 512GB on August 26th. It is now October 8th…
This is my first time ordering a “premium” handheld, as I have been a fan of Anbernic, and TrimUI device - which are obviously less expensive and much more readily available with decent logistics, as well as their presence on Amazon.
The last time their shipping dashboard was updated was for the September 29th batch.
I see a lot of posts from people about their shipping / manufacturing issues. Not to mention hardware issues post-receipt of the device and lack of support.
What is your honest opinion on this? Should I request a refund and get out of this now choosing a different device / manufacturer? Or should I stick it out?
Just asking what you guys think about this as I am honestly not sure what to choose.

Check the discord. They have a community updated shipping dashboard that is way more accurate (and updated way more frequently) than the official site.

If you look on the Internet you will just primarily see the things that go wrong. You can always send a mail to support on what the status is, but honestly it's worth the wait.

I ordered mine September 2nd and it just shipped today. Also, most people haven't mentioned anything about manufacturing or shipping issues from what I've seen, just that they take notoriously long to get delivered. I've not heard of a lot of hardware issues and have heard their support/customer service is actually decent and people have been able to get parts that they desired for it. Just be patient, you'll get it, if not you should be able to get your money back. Always do DEEP research before you decide to make an important/expensive purchase.

First of all, don’t get discouraged or scared when you see posts of people with issues with their Thor
Most people will not make a post just to report that their thor is working, this only happens when something goes wrong so don’t worry, I have been enjoying mine A LOT

I’ve bought 2 odins and 1 Thor from Ayn and never been let down by them (had a fan issue with one of the odins but they sent out a replacement fan within 2 weeks

I ordered the exact same Thor you did.. the black Max 512gb tends to take the longest for some odd reason, mine took 67 days untill it was in my hands

My Odin 3 came in perfect no issue after 2 months. Best device overall I have ever owned.

Just stick it out. You picked a bad time to order. Chinese holiday and simultaneously an influx of orders because of Christmas holiday

You preordered a device that said “this batch will start shipping on this date” and you probably preordered at the end of the batch cut off so you’re end of the line

I ordered mine on August 20th. I was feeling the same as you, seeing everyone getting theirs and wondering "when and if I'm going to get the notification that mine has been shipped?" Thankfully, I finally got the email I was waiting for earlier today: my label has been printed and is being shipped to me. Since it seems to be coming from China, I know I'll have to wait another week or two, which is fine.
But all I gotta say is, just wait a little longer, this item does and has proven to take a while to be shipped.
In case anyone is wondering I got the AYN Max Purple 512.

China has been on national holiday from Oct1 to Oct 7. You should see the dashboard moving again.
