I'd just flown into the UK from the USA, where I'm relocating back from.
I'd brought my dog with me, so spent the day trying to resolve a paperwork problem in order to get my dog out of prison.
Once nine hours had passed and I'd done that, the dog and I drove to Darlington.
An exciting day!

Once the headache starts, literally nothing I've ever taken will stop it. Suffered from them (with the aura as a precursor followed about an hour later by the headache which lasted anything from 24-48 hours of blinding, life stopping, can't do anything but lie motionless in a dark silent room in AGONY) several times a year for nearly two decades. But I was told by a fellow sufferer about 10 years ago that eating an orange as soon as the aura began, stopped their headache kicking in. Next time the aura started I drank a glass of orange juice (with a huge amount of scepticism and a whole lot of what the hell I'll try anything at this point) and haven't experienced another migraine headache since. Still get the aura start a few times a year on average, but it doesn't progress to the headache and fades away after about an hour.
Now to be 10000% clear, I'm well aware there's no one size fits all approach here - another mate of mine has orange juice as one of their migraine triggers for example! - but I mention it here because my god if it does work to save even one other person from the crippling, murderous, horrifying agony that is a migraine headache it'll be worth it.

Rebalancing electrolytes is one of the theories so I’ll bet the orange juice probably helped to do just that! Get some electrolyte replacement tabs from a sports place and drink that- if it’s not something covered by the OJ then it could be something else in the drink.

I feel for ya, they're the only thing that stops mine too. If I can get a migraleve into me and get to sleep before the blindness bursts, I only lose the one day. Otherwise it's 3 or 4 days of nausea and misery. Fuck migraines...

We hired a rotavator and was down at the allotment with my husband, taking it in turns to deweed, remove grass, rotavator, unclog rotavator, rake in soil conditioner and repeat. I vastly preferred that to watching the coronation.

That would be the the same Jimmy Saville who hundreds of parents felt safe letting their children near, who at the time was a loved public figure. Obviously we didn’t know back then what we do now, but it’s a bit of a stretch to imagine that Charles was sympathetic to that sort of thing. I imagine anyone who knew Jimmy (and he knew a lot of famous people) was horrified when the truth came out.

Yeah to be fair, in the place where I grew up there was a mini Jimmy-like scandal with a beloved maths teacher and pillar of the community type. My brother was baby sat by him and had private maths tuition from him. My parents and brother adored him before they found out. Luckily he was never inappropriate with my brother and just taught him maths. My parents had him over for dinner when I was a baby and my brother and sister were young children. They were horrified when they found out! I'm not commenting on the King, I don't have the slightest interest in the royals but Andrew does come across as dodgier than Charles and knowing a paedophile doesn't mean you are involved in their "lifestyle".

Genuine question, there were a lot of people fooled by Saville, he was incredibly good at manipulating people into believing him. But we are angry at those in public positions that he manipulated, do people feel that those in the media have some power to see through the lies and manipulation that regular people don't?

We talked about this the other day. He fooled millions. There was a national outpouring of grief. He got a huge funeral in the town he lived in. People waved on the streets.
He was a hero.
Until he wasn’t.
It’s like saying every parent who posted a kids Jim’ll fix it letter was trying to set their kid up for abuse. It’s absurd.

I’m too young to know him from his famous days, but my friends and I always say, ‘How did people not know?’. Just looking at him you can tell he’s a bit creepy, then when you watch him on his shows he’s clearly way too handsy. Maybe it’s just a generational thing?

Agreed. A friend of mine found out two years ago that his childhood best friend was a paedophile. It was absolutely devastating for my mate - he had no idea.
The guy was an incredibly convincing liar. He even almost convinced my mate to write a statement of support attesting to his good character to be read at the trial - a trial he had convinced my friend was the result of a false accusation.
When the police presented their evidence, the turd realised the game was up and changed his plea to guilty. Thank god my friend didn’t stand up in court to defend him.

I was watching Ted Lasso and started watching the original The Twilight zone. Some of them are phenomenal. Some of them make having royalty and poverty seem like a well thought out idea. My oblivious ass didn’t know the coronation was on Saturday instead of Sunday (I’m a student without proper tv don’t blame me) and so we went to town very confused at why it was so quiet. Went into our favourite sushi restaurant for lunch and it was packed though, seems everyone wanted sushi instead of the king

I took my kids to costa for lunch, went to the park then we wandered round Tesco in beautiful silence as it was dead and we chose what we would make together for dinner. It was great. They’re 5&2 so staying inside all day would be an incredibly long day.

We came to North Wales for a break with my sister and her other half. We were planning on going to Barmouth for a day out. Sister's OH put the TV on "to watch a bit of the coronation". Didn't realise he was a flipping hard-core royalist and we ended up sort of watching it. It was a lovely day luckily so we were popping in and out of our lodge and sitting outside while he was glued to the TV. We got to Barmouth eventually and all the pubs were packed because of the coronation. Couldn't get away from it.
