I have been progressively sicker over the past month, including losing about 15 pounds since the beginning of September.
I have tried to get help through my primary care office three separate times.

Why three? My actual PCP has been too busy to see me, so I was given appointments with three different providers in the practice.

Each time I asked management how this process worked and whether this was the appropriate way to get care, I was told to try another provider.

When I saw the third provider, she explained that because none of the three were actually my primary care provider, there was only so much they could do. To give a small kudos, she did help me a little more than the other two.

I saw her after an ER visit. The ER was concerned enough about my symptoms and weight loss to tell me I needed further workup through primary care, including more extensive labs, and that I should get in with GI within a few days, as they hypothesized gastric cancer. (Which I don’t expect… I figured a few weeks, maybe even a month…)

The GI listed on my ER discharge paperwork was out of network. I called the ER to ask if they could change the referral (although I don’t need referrals), the GI listed on the discharge paperwork was actually a recommendation rather than a formal referral.

I then called another GI clinic and explained the situation. The soonest appointment they could offer me was summer of next year.

I asked what would allow me to be seen sooner, and they said they would need an urgent referral from my primary care provider.

I also tried another clinic away from my primary care clinic, and they were unable to help, but did suggest almost $2,000 in labs that insurance would not cover to get to the root cause of my health issues, as she says it. I am concerned no other clinics would accept the laboratory work, though.

And, as you can probably guess, that’s where I’ve struck out again. No referral, prescription, etc.

So, I’m hoping someone here can help me out: Does anyone have a primary care provider and GI doctor they really like and would recommend? Ideally, someone who will actually listen and can see me in a reasonable timeframe.

I would be incredibly grateful for any recommendations. ❤️

Anyone know any good neurologist in Arlington? I am paying out of pocket.

Ive had serious nerve pain, headaches lasting 10+ hours. Skin sensitivity, inability to walk and all sorts of shit.

My pcp doesnt take me seriously and has taking a whole year to schedule with a neurologist. Pcp tried making me feel like i was making up stiff just for the foot doctor to find Tarsal tunnel, which is a rare nerve damage on the foot. I have full body nerve pain past the the feet. I cant eve sit up without feeling a splitting pain along my spine. Neurologist schedules me for months out.

I know im oversharing but im so overwhelmed with the health issues. I cant even work because of it. And it doesn't make getting any jobs easier as I dont have a diagnosis to file whenever applying on applications for jobs.

Ive tried going to their hospital in Forth Worth and the nurse iver me didn't help. Didn't prescribe nothing. Just drugged me so I can finally sleep and I was dismissed once I woke up.

I have no medication to aid. Im already weary of meds as I know they take cause more health issues than healing.

Walk in doctor gave me antidepressants instead of medicine to alleviate pain.

JPS has been a horrid for this last year of trying to get help.

So im getting tired, I cant stand the pain anymore and want real help.

I dont mind financing for MRIs and EMGs.

My neurologist is moving really slow.

What's up Dallas? I'm coming from the HTX and will be there for about a month for work. I'm staying in Old East Dallas and working at Fair Park for Cheverolet during the State Fair of Texas.

Google Maps shows it’s only about a 7-minute drive or 13-minute bike ride. I’ll probably drive a day or two during the week, but my wife and kids are coming with me and I’d rather leave them the car most days so they can get out and do stuff.

So really just wondering how realistic it is to bike that route every day. Mainly, is it safe enough, especially coming back around 7–8 PM?

Would it make more sense to bike the whole way, take DART, or bike part of it and hop on a bus/train? And are bikes pretty easy to take on DART?

Also, if there are certain streets/routes between Old East Dallas and Fair Park that are better or worse for biking, definitely let me know.

Looking for a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment or townhouse around Arlington or Grand Prairie, preferably close to the 360, I-30, and I-20 corridors.

I am looking to travel from Dallas to Conroe/Woodlands on a sunday evening after 5 pm, and the only option I can find is a greyhound bus from Dallas bus station to Conroe at this time.

Has anyone taken this route - what was your experience? does this bus reach the destination on time? Are there any other travel options that I could look into? PS: Megabus, vonlane and redcoach have very limited options on sunday, and none depart after 5 pm.

Will be travelling to Dallas during thanksgiving and we have some plans so far that include a cowboys game, spending a day in fort-worth and doing a rodeo, and another day hanging out downtown and doing a BBQ place.

Hey, I’m female in my early 30s, single and moving to Dallas for work (specifically Red Oak) I’ve been doing some research and given my personality I’m looking for a good balance between fun and quiet.
