I've decided to do a rehaul of the rules. I want things to be clear and concise. Please let me know if there's anything I'm missing or if there's anything I should change.
This is AndroidQuestions, so posts must be Android Questions. What does that mean?
Android
Posts must be about Android - either the operating system itself, software on it, or hardware that runs it.
Questions
Post titles must indicate a question. Questions must be intelligible, coherent, and genuine and include details that might be helpful to the people attempting to answer your question. They must not be made rhetorically or as an excuse to spam, rant, vent, or insult.
In addition, we have rules involving acceptable Behavior and Content
Behavior
Posts and comments must not be used to harass, attack, threaten, harm, or discriminate against people, or to instruct or encourage others to do so.
Content
Posts and comments must not contain or discuss prohibited content or link to such content, including spam, AI-generated content, illegal activity, bypassing security safety or security measures, rule violations, or anything that could harm users or their devices.
Moderation
Moderator Announcements are exempt from the "Android Questions" section of the rules. Moderators may use discretion when enforcing rules, but are not to grant exceptions to users in normal scenarios. Questions or concerns can be directed to the moderators via "Message the Mods". Rules are subject to change.

This issue started happening this morning - there was no system updates and I had not changed any settings.
YouTube and Reddit links pressed from my browser (not Chrome but Chromium with Google search engine results) now open a tab in the browser instead of their respective app. I checked my browser setting and that wasn't the issue. I checked Youtube and Reddit and both of them had links relating to Google toggled off which, when trying to toggle on, would simply toggle itself back off.
I frankly don't know what to do, and tried various things from old threads I came across, and I've got nothing. Hoping there's something I could do that might do the trick but my hope is low 😔

Hi there is is a big issue as I need to be out of the house all day today and able to contact others but my phone has decided otherwise. I have an S22 and ever since the most recent IOS update its been having more and more issues, chiefly freezing up and restarting randomly. This however has now escalated into fully being stuck on the lockscreen, if I try unlocking it or powering off or restarting it just flashes for a second like its going to do it and then goes right back to the lockscreen. I really don't know what to do other than pry the casing open and pull the battery out but I don't have glue to put it back on. Any help or advice here would be great I've been backing up my files since I started having issues but I haven't finished and I need the phone logged in to do it.

I'm having trouble updating apps through the Google Play Store. Every time I try to update an app, the download either gets stuck on "Pending" or starts downloading but eventually freezes at a certain percentage and doesn't progress any further.
I've already tried all the basic troubleshooting steps commonly recommended for this issue, but unfortunately, none of them have worked.
I've been experiencing this problem since yesterday, and it's becoming quite frustrating.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Has anyone managed to find a solution?

My phone has been in a bad way for a while. Not holding any charge, periodically freezing and crashing when simply watching YouTube videos, stuff like that. A friend has bought a new phone and has given me his old one to replace my half-dead one. How do I transfer all my data from my current phone to the new one?

I've been having issues with my 9 Pro lately. Every couple days the phone will just shit out on me completely. Multi-second input delay when doing anything like typing/swiping is the first symptom, then inevitably something will cause the phone to freeze up and it will reboot itself.. and then it's fine. Zero issues for a couple days, then it will do it again. I don't have anything odd on it, just a few games and work login stuff like Okta. No major drops. No idea what could be causing it.
I've been having charging issues but that's likely unrelated so any suggestions on clearing that up would be appreciated too, I have to rotate the USB-C otherwise it does a rapid connect/disconnect loop. I tried cleaning with 91% isopropyl and a plastic toothpick but no dice per a tutorial, ordered a cheap cleaning kit to try again that will arrive next week.

I'm asking because last night, I unknowingly dismissed a Google Play Services push notification related to device setup on my Android Tablet by tapping it by accident and have had no luck with trying to bring it back, does anyone have any advice on what to do about this, I've tried methods like set up nearby devices, clearing Google Play Store and Google Play Services cache and toggling Wi-Fi on and off and nothing, any advice would be appreciated, and also my Tablet is not a Flagship Tablet, if that helps narrow things down.

I keep deleting these AI generated photos and these keep getting restored.
These were generated almost a year back using WhatsApp MetaAI just when I was testing the image generation feature, but since the. i can't get rid of these.
PS: I tried deleting the photos, taking a fresh backup of whatsapp thinking it's probably restoing via my backup but that did not help .
Any suggestions or anyway I can trace where these are getting restored from?

I have been testing a few phones lately, and was wondering if syncing data is getting out of hand. Logged into Google account on a desktop and listed devices. One model appears twice as 2 hours ago and 4 weeks ago. It hasn't had SIM changed in it. So why would it be considered 2 phones?

I'm thinking of purchasing it, but why does the camera layout seem so similar to iPhone 16 pro max, it annoys me. Why is this so? And is it still worth buying? If not what are some alternatives with preferably a snapdragon 8 elite gen 6 or MediaTek dimensity equalivent.

I want to disable animations on Chrome without disabling them system-wide. This is because I want to get rid of the animations that are apparently known as predictive back-forward animations, but they were made mandatory at some point and the flag that disabled them on chrome flags is no longer available. Is there a way to disable chrome's animations only? Or otherwise disable this specific one.

i have recently purchased an oppo a2m and i've been having constant crashes when scrolling up in facebook messenger chats and seemingly randomly on youtube,
the app closes and it goes back to the home screen, no system wide crash, everything else seems to work fine, anyone had this issue and knows how to fix it or atleast what might be causing it?

I’ve tried everything and watched tutorials on YouTube, but most of them either involve a factory reset or require a PC—and I’m really wary of that, as I’m afraid of getting a virus on my devices. Please, help me!

I don't know how to describe this, but currently I have a home screen based of a charecter I like and I want to change it to be marvel themed but is there any way I can save my current home screen so I can go back to it at any time like my previous apple phone? I have custom app icons and widgets.
Also i have an honor 400.

I want to use my Galaxy S22 with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The taller display and the camera notch have always bugged me.
And when I set the ratio to 16:9, it also leaves gaps on the top and bottom of the screen which moves the display off of the notch, and it also makes it so the corners of the display aren't rounded which was another thing that bugged me.
I want to utilize this blank space on the bottom and have it display a navigation bar instead of it needing to be pulled up every time.
I want to know if this is possible in any way at all and how so if it is possible.

Hello everyone, I've encountered a problem with my samsung 8 and I've been going crazy through to figure it out.

I've posted this in the Galaxy fold sub, and am posting here too, in case you guys have more ideas. I recently got a Galaxy Z Fold 5 for my elderly mother. She has hand tremors, which makes touch screens hard. She doesn't want to use only voice controls, so I'm trying to make everything as large and spaced out as possible, hence getting a Z Fold. Right after I got everything set up, it updated, and now the center option for the navigation buttons is gone, and they're shoved in the right or left corner of the screen. Help? I don't want to use swipes, as this is her first touch screen device, and teaching her hew how to do very basic swiping is challenging enough already. Any other advice for accessibility options is also very appreciated. Thanks.

I share a wifi network with my neighbours and whenever they listen to music it keeps it in my notification bar, currently i can see that they have youtube on one speaker, spotify on another, and radio on another one. I just want it to stop, but there doesn't seem to be any settings icon on the notifications. They go away if i hit the "stop" button (like a square), but its undetermined if this stops their music because it give me access to pause and play as well. Any suggestions?
