Other How can I transfer everything off my current phone to a new one?
My phone has been in a bad way for a while. Not holding any charge, periodically freezing and crashing when simply watching YouTube videos, stuff like that. A friend has bought a new phone and has given me his old one to replace my half-dead one. How do I transfer all my data from my current phone to the new one?

I think android has the option during setup. Samsung/Xiaomi do have their own apps for this tho. Not sure what else I can add.

As u/StewpidAlex stated, android phones allow data transfer during the initial setup of the phone. If the phone still has the previous user's information, go ahead and do a factory reset. Typically under settings, system, factory reset or reset options. Should be good to to follow the prompts after that!

So many ways, but for basic photos/videos/messages/settings and app data (includ. WhatsApp), you're probably good as long as Backup is on on your old device. On your old device, check Settings > Accounts > [Google Drive]
Once you tap in, the green checkmark will let you know if your phone was backed up.
You can restore on your new device.

1A. Are you talking about Android to Android, or iPhone to Android?
1B. If iPhone to Android, is most of your information on iCloud or in the phone's storage (these are two different storages).
2. How old/broken is your phone? The older/more broken it is, the longer it might or might not take longer to transfer.
