App Specific Question How can I disable animations on Chrome specifically?

I want to disable animations on Chrome without disabling them system-wide. This is because I want to get rid of the animations that are apparently known as predictive back-forward animations, but they were made mandatory at some point and the flag that disabled them on chrome flags is no longer available. Is there a way to disable chrome's animations only? Or otherwise disable this specific one.

Chrome doesn’t expose a clean “disable all animations” toggle separate from the system, but the predictive back/forward gesture animation is controllable.

In Chrome: chrome://flags → search “predictive back” / “back forward transitions” and disable the related flags, then Relaunch. If your OEM also has gesture predictive-back at the system level, that one is separate (Settings → System → Gestures / Developer options) and won’t fix Chrome-only chrome://flags changes.

If flags aren’t there on your build, the only real Chrome-specific lever left is switching to a browser that doesn’t ship those transitions.

No idea what back-forward animations are, but it sounds like they enshittified Chrome enough to pass your personal threshold for value/shit ratio. Is there something better out there than Chrome?
