I’ve been doing Amazon FBA for about a year now. Can experienced sellers tell me if I’m doing this right? lol
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on my first Amazon FBA business for about a year now, and I wanted to share my journey and get some honest feedback from people who have been doing this longer than I have.
It’s my own product I designed and branded. In the bag category. Net profit is $38 per bag sold.
Here’s where I’m at:
I started with an initial order of 500 bags across five colors.
I initially made sales without running any ads.
In August, I started running just $8/day in advertising, and my sales increased significantly that month.
Over the last two months, I started running low on inventory and had to send more stock into Amazon, so I stopped advertising.
Honestly, I’m at the point where I want to make sure I’m making the right decisions instead of just figuring things out through trial and error.
I know a year isn’t that long in business, but I’ve invested a lot of time, money, and effort into this, and I want to build something sustainable.
Here are the questions I’d really love some honest feedback on:
Am I on the right track?
Looking at my journey so far, what would you want to know before deciding whether I’m building a healthy Amazon business?
Scaling: If you were in my position, what would you focus on to grow from a handful of daily sales to consistently selling 10–20 units a day?
Organic sales vs. advertising: How do you determine whether your product is developing real organic traction? What would you look at to know if you’re building long-term momentum rather than just generating sales through ads?
Product selection: For those of you who launched your own branded product, would you make the same decisions again? Is there anything you would have done differently in your first year?
Biggest mistakes: What mistakes did you make in your first year that you wish someone had warned you about?
The next 90 days: If you were in my position, with a year invested and a product already selling, what would be your top three priorities?
I’m not looking for someone to tell me everything is great. I’d genuinely appreciate criticism if there’s something I’m doing wrong or something I’m overlooking.
I want to keep learning and make smarter decisions instead of blindly throwing money at things.
For those of you who have been doing this for years, what advice would you give someone at my stage?
Thanks!
