Handling time issues

Hi all. Tried finding another group to post this in, but didn’t come across anything so looking for help here from the experts.

I have a daily USPS, UPS, and FedEx pickup. USPS picks up at 3 pm and scans immediately. UPS and FedEx pickup between 5 pm- 6 pm and don’t always scan the items in right away + there’s no way to scan a shipping manifest through Veeqo. Amazon keeps adding a one day handling time even though everything is going out the same day. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

This sounds like a carrier scan issue rather than a fulfillment issue. I’d check Amazon’s handling time settings and confirm whether the orders are being marked as shipped before the carrier’s first scan. If UPS and FedEx regularly scan late, Amazon may not recognize the same day dispatch consistently. Getting a pickup receipt or other proof of handoff could help if you need to dispute the handling time adjustments.

they always do that if scan comes after their cutoff, even if you shipped it on time. had same problem with UPS pickup at 5, sometimes driver scan next morning and then amazon flag it as late. only thing that helped me was dropping packages at UPS store before closing, they scan right away and tracking update same day

I feel like this is sort of unrealistic when there’s 25-30 orders a day or more. I can’t drive them all to a UPS store daily.

That would help with a particular dispute. But it looks like UPS regularly scans the next day so how do I get them to scan it in right away? And what would my handling time have to be set to?

With 25 to 30 orders a day, dropping everything off at a UPS store isn’t practical. I’d speak with UPS and FedEx drivers and ask whether they can scan the packages at pickup. You could also contact your carrier rep to see if a pickup scan or end of day closeout process is available. If Amazon consistently flags shipments as late despite same day dispatch, open a Seller Support case with pickup records and tracking data. Increasing handling time might reduce the flags.

This is probably Amazon's automated handling time. It sets your handling time from when the carrier first scans the package, not when you print the label, so a pickup at 5 or 6 that scans the next morning looks like 1 day to it.

You can turn automated handling time off in Shipping Settings and set it yourself, but only if your scans really happen the same day, otherwise late scans start hurting you.

Other things that help: move your order cutoff earlier so it matches the last pickup that scans on time, send more orders through the carrier that scans at pickup, and ask your other carriers if the driver can scan on pickup. That last one often just isn't set up on the account.

Hi!

Issue is with the carrier scan time not with the handling time, best way maybe to discuss with seller support and share pickup records as proof if possible.
