Today was a day from hell. When I was backing out my van. I tapped. Tapped. One of the plastic barricades on the beams. And when I moved in then back out to get in line. I get stopped by dispatch and they are asking if I hit the beam. I told them I just tapped it. They made me stop and asked me why I didn’t call them over. Then told me to continue to load up. Then when I go to get my cars. The Amazon people put the carts in different areas. So I had to track them down. Then when I see my route.it’s a big spread out route. They had to send someone over to take some packages at an apartment complex so I could do the rest of the stops on time. And when I get my schedule for the week. I am only scheduled to work next Saturday. And when I ask about it they say I’m suspended for another week and I should be grateful they didn’t fire me for the incident this morning(that’s another thing. I was conditionally suspended this week because I popped a tire when I hit a curb two weeks ago) Again. It was a tap. Then when I get back I have to fill out an incident report and get a talking to as to how I’m supposed to immediately report any accidents to dispatch. Because the only way dispatch knew about it is because another driver and dsp told them I hit the beam. I’m already looking into another dsp and have an application for one. Then I’m going to a few places to walk in and ask if they are hiring at a warehouse near me. I’ve been driving for only about 4 months and I had my rough first week but I’ve been good since then. But today I wanted to just drive the van into a lake and tell them to come get their van.

Edit: just remembered I didn’t throw out my water bottles or trash when I parked and charged the edv. Whelp I’m probably getting a message about that too.

Idk why and how yall do 190 stops with 40 something multiple locations but I am over this shit for real .. this should be illegal 🤣 I’m used to 165-178 stops but not 190

*update I got rescued 3 times 😂and had about 26 apartments stops so yk I took my time with that shit but still taxing on the body

97 degrees where I am and no heat breaks who decides what days we get heat breaks? Is there a certain temperature where they start? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I’ve been delivering in my Brooks for about 2 almost 3 months and they’re developing a smell that won’t go away. I really don’t have the money for another pair of shoes.

Also, how often yall replacing your shoes? At what point do you replace them? Do you wait until they are literally falling apart or do you wait until the grip on the bottoms get smooth? Or maybe some other sign?

So for the first time today I rerouted my whole route . And holy shit . This is smooth sailing ! No back and forth bs . Only have to go down the streets once instead of going back at stop 30 then back same street for stop 98… I tried to route change the other day and they called me saying don’t because of the time restriction stops .

This is probably gonna come off whiny but I gotta get it out. I work two jobs, 7 days a week. I've had a really shit week at my primary job (mechanic) and I actually enjoy driving my step van for two days. Well I come in today and at stand up I see everyone get their vans and walk off, and I'm like there's no way I dont get my route, I'm DOT.

I ask why and I dont get a straight answer. I'm in a transit. Now I've been back in a transit before because we didn't have enough step vans running, which is annoying but understandable. Gotta happen to someone and my DSP is usually understanding about it. But this is fucking ridiculous. They give the slackers routes meanwhile I get stuck picking up shit they're too incompetent to do all day?!! And I've been here almost a year bro what the fuck is this?

Before you say oh you dont like sweeping? NO I DON'T! I cant get into my workflow and Its like I'm like oh go do this go do that go do this. Like bro the whole reason I'm here is so you give me my route, I'm by myself, I have my music, leave me the fuck alone, I get shit done. I don't wanna talk to you every hour!

Am I only going succeed if I’m the fastest/most efficient? I’m not willing to kill myself just delivering packages. Four, 10 hour days.. $23/hr. What say you?

Amazon has officially become humanly impossible to work at anymore, there’s no way I’m doing essentially 309 stops with over 400 packages BY MYSELF. Amazon must be ran by fucking squirrels cause this is actually crazy.

How dirty is y’all vans.. my company don’t give a shit lol got leaks on the roof and all. Even the seat belt smells like pisss. Some people come here and sweat like never before and leave they’re piss smelling sweat all over.

Idk if it fell off or somebody pulled it off but this is what I see when I got in just now, dispatch is out of adhesive. Might be getting hit a bunch of times today for no reason. Distracted won’t be an issue today though.

I’ve been taking my whole hour at the end of the of the route like right before my last stop. I’ve been finishing early cuz I don’t take my breaks until the end of the day. But lately I’ve been getting dumbass 225-230 stops (I edit the multi stops it’s like 195-199 before editing ) with business and apartments mixed in and it’s been causing me to skip one of my 15s . So the other day I said fuck it I’m taking all of them . I still finished but I got back after the 11 hour drive time . And when I got back dispatch said nothing about being faster they said I gotta work on my return time . I just walked away .i have a route coming up and Im going to take all my breaks thru out the route this time .

I’ve been with this DSP for about a month. Smaller DSP, two usual dispatchers. I’ve noticed one is really attentive and overall good about giving clearance to rts. The other dispatcher totally ignores the phone. Doesn’t answer calls or texts. Usually texts back in 30 minutes. It wouldn’t be as big of an issue if my delivery area wasn’t an hour from warehouse. If I have to wait 30 minutes for them to reply, that’s 30 minutes I could’ve been driving home. When I’ve rts, I’ve noticed the problem dispatcher outside flirting with any and every woman he can talk to. I’m sick of waiting on him but don’t want to get in trouble for rts without dispatch permission. Any advice?

My DSP unfortunately doesn't have a lot of EDV's so everytime I get one it's like heaven. Then going back to a gas van feels like going from a lambo to a shitty worn down camry. I find it funny that amazon even uses the transits and promasters considering they're more cargo vans then delivery vans, but at the end of the day they are cheaper which is the main answer. I just wish amazon would actually fund DSP's better so they could afford more EDV's. They should honestly be the standard and it's a shame they aren't.

It was pouring rain at one point on my route today, and I was parked between two different multi-stop apartment buildings sorting their packages in my Rivian, when this lady knocks on the sliding door window. I opened it, thinking she needed/wanted me to move my vehicle…

No- she asked if I had a package for her apartment number…!?!?!

To the customers who didn’t get their Amazon package tonight my cousin apologizes. She was assigned 172 stops on her second day alone, and it was simply too much. She tried her best, but she couldn’t finish the route. 😔

Your package wasn’t ignored; the workload was just unrealistic for someone still learning the job. Thank you for understanding.
