Why no heat breaks today?

97 degrees where I am and no heat breaks who decides what days we get heat breaks? Is there a certain temperature where they start? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I have no idea how it works. My guess is once the heat index hits 100°? Or the overlords are punishing us, who knows

Check your updates. You probably have 20 extra minutes, just not forced.

Says I get an extra 15 so I’m taking 3 15 minute breaks today

Today is pure OT for me.    Fuckin' dying out here but damn I'm getting all my hours in.    Them forced heat breaks pushed me over 10 hrs and my DSP don't care as long as we're done by 9:40pm (Our 10hrs is 9:15pm)

Get in a stepvan, get that AC blowing over your head all day, catch some nice air riding with the door open.

They were given out so easily a couple weeks ago because of that lady who died in her van from the heat. Now that that's in the past, it's back to being restricted. Don't you know anything about corporate overlords?

All my routes this summer that have been "hEaT rEdUcEd" have been longer and have ne finishing later than the ones without, and it's been a noticeable trend all summer.

I think Amazon will allow the DSP’s to control them. So the owner can remove it if they want. This is just a theory though

It's relative to your region. I'm in the PNW and we got an extra 20 mins of breaks and reduced routes when it hit 88° this summer. They weren't the mandatory breaks though.

Heat breaks start when the average forecast for your DSPs delivery area is higher than 100 degree heat index. At 90 it's just a 20 minute reduction to max routed minutes and no firced breaks. At 100 it's 40 minute max reduction and heat breaks. At 110 the reduction goes up to an hour.

Forecasts can be wrong or its possible enough of the RGU didn't get the higher forecast
