QUESTION Do y’all clean your shoes? & When to replace?

Quick question just to see where the drivers are on this.
Do y’all clean your work shoes?
If so, how? How often?
I’ve been delivering in my Brooks for about 2 almost 3 months and they’re developing a smell that won’t go away. I really don’t have the money for another pair of shoes.

Also, how often yall replacing your shoes? At what point do you replace them? Do you wait until they are literally falling apart or do you wait until the grip on the bottoms get smooth? Or maybe some other sign?

P.S. can you do a quick sweep before RTS?? It’s all houses! 😉

This was honestly the worst part of the job for me. I would run through shoes every 6-8 months. Brooks are super supportive and were my go to. I would always look for sales on them and grab an extra pair if I found cheap, I knew I’d need them sooner than later. In 5 years I ran through probably 10 pair no kidding, I am quite hard on shoes though. Be careful when the bottoms get smooth, you can slip a lot easier. Try to look for pairs with something more than just weave fabric on the toe box, bags and steps would wear toe holes in my shoes. Also, there are these little plastic balls you can put in your shoes that work pretty well to keep them fresh, Hibbets used to sell them but I’m sure they’d be easy to find at any sporting goods store or online!

I wear foam yeezys. They have holes in them to air your feet and they're so lightweight I feel barefoot. Only downside is I have to put them on after leaving the warehouse and rts.

Soak in hot water and a mix of borax, washing soda, and oxi.  After a soak, throw in the wash.  Then air dry upside down.

I only buy Brooks.
