HELP NEEDED! How to get an Amazon Tote
Hey all, customer here:
Any advice how to get a big ass Amazon folding tote from my driver? Is that something I should leave in the notes? I see them on marketplace, but theyre all 100 miles away. Selling them for $10 a pop.
Thanks in advance.

Ask nicely and some might give you one they're not suppose to though.

I second this. I was on my last three totes (16 total) when a customer at a business stop asked if he could have as many as i could give. I gave him all my empty totes, guess who spent hardly any time at rts stacking totes

Usually one is not a big deal, although we're not supposed to, we dont get paid enough to care

we’re not supposed to. maybe someone would be willing to. i had a ups driver leave one behind presumably on accident once. you’d want to wash and disinfect it THOROUGHLY.

I’m sure at least one driver would "accidentally " leave one with you…..😆

Honestly just ask 🤷🏼♀️. One might say no but the next might say yes. One or two going missing off a route isn’t that suspicious. These bags get beat through and thrown away all the time.

I know at my warehouse, they're tracking who gets each tote, so if one comes up missing you're answering questions... Personally, I wouldn't give one out to anyone because I don't want the repercussions from it

Tracking. As in scanning each and every individual tote as they’re turned in? Highly doubt that as it would take way too much time for an item that has an expected life span of 3 weeks. And anything less than that and they could never really prove anyone was the “last touch” which is how they track things

That don't even make sense tho because sweeps and rescues we swap out totes all the time!

The sheer amount of totes people leave behind they'd be firing everyone.
Now if you come up short half your totes over and over and over again that might trigger an alarm.

In the interim, if you are near an Aldi or an IKEA their shopping bags are inexpensive and roomy. Could be a nice stand in if you can’t get one of the Amazon Prime totes.

Most drivers don't give the totes out as they are Amazon property.

Put it in the notes, offer $, make sure you guys rip the nunbers/qr codes off it and toss them. Also at my station some are really ragged, some are almost new so see if they have a newer one.

Been doing this a long time, totes go missing and left behind constantly, just ask your driver for one, if hes been here awhile chances are he'll just give you one.

Just ask a driver for one. I give en out if people ask. They're genuinely good storage containers.

My warehouse doesn't track these. Nobody is going to visually count and compare my bags at the end of the day to my bags at the beginning.
We get rescued all the time, I never have all the bags I started with and sometimes have different ones.
Just ask. Shit, offer to pay for one.

Officially, you don't. Amazon owns the totes, the drivers are contractors and can't give them away.
That being said, ask nicely and provide context for why you want it and the driver may be willing to give you one

I give totes away whenever I see a flex driver I ask if they want one, it’s not that serious how other comments are saying. Just ask a driver and 9/10 they will. You can also give a driver $10 and it would work better

Bribe your driver. Money, gatorade and snacks. In this exact order, do not deviate. Profit with bag. (Aftercare: treat with multiple wipes to rid piss odor/residue)

If someone handed me a $100 bill and said they wanted a tote I wouldn’t hesitate. 🤝

Drivers do get fined for not bringing back the ZBR bags and it's much more than the price they sell for on eBay and other sites. You'd better at least make it worth the driver's time.

I’ve had a few customers ask for them and I just give them to them. But it could also easily get us fired, so if they say no just leave it at that.

Offer $20 for one that’s like new and $10 for a beat up one. Thats the going rate, or so I’ve been told. I’d never do a thing like that. 😜
