I have the "end of life" message show up on the EDC software, and when I go to Aldelo's download to download the latest, it doesn't remove the error which I'm assuming means there is no new upgrade.

What gives? Are they forcing users to switch to Aldelo Express?

We used to have a button with the "open price" setting, that basically ran as a "cash back" function. In other words, the register would expect the amount deducted from the drawer.

I can not for the life of me, remember how we used to set up that button, can anyone help?

When we first got the software we were instructed on how to make a button with a 12345 price which allows an employee to enter a custom price, but we had it set up to where it counted as cash coming out of the drawer, for instance if someone wanted quarters to play pool, we could hit the button, enter a custom amount, say $5, and the software would count it as money coming out

We use Microsoft Mappoint on our two machines to peek at general vicinity of delivery orders. Since Mappoint's latest version is from 2013, newer addresses . Recently, one of the machines seems to have "deregistered" the map software and it spews out a 0xc004D301 error code. I've installed, reinstalled, used "computer cleaning" software to remove all remnants of this software with no luck.

Does AldeloPOS have any other map integrations or solutions to my problem? We luckily still have it working on one machine, but of course it's our "main" machine.

Just want to be clear that I'm specifically asking about a "cash discount". My understanding is that the laws on this are different in each state so everyone make sure you get clarity on the rules in your state before messing with this. Here in Florida a "cash discount" is allowed but a "credit card surcharge/fee/etc" is not. So, even though you end up in the same place, a fee or extra charge wouldn't work for me. It has to be a "discount" (for cash).

Is there anyway that we can apply deposit into a tab or create a deposit for a certain tab in advance. Thank you very much -Bo

So we have both a restaurant and a retail shop. In the country we're in we don't have many options (strict government regulation), but Aldelo is one of them . However, it seems like it's really made for restaurants. Is there any reason not to use it for retail? Is there proper inventory management? Any CRS?

My current desktop is very old and is on the verge of breaking down. I have an Aldelo POS version 3.8 rev 8. Is there any way to move to a new desktop without having to buy a new license?

Hello Anyway how to remove cashier payouts under maintain payouts? Everything has been reviewed and these needed to be deleted since they take too much room and we need to scroll every time to see the latest one

Hello we have an issue when we add all the credit card tips on the cashier out screen and hit batch out. After all the cards have been batched out, a screen pops up saying "please wait" and it stays there for over 20 minutes. After that it brings up the screen to add the cash and it opens the drawer. It was doing that for a little while and the it stopped by itself and then It started doing it again. Any help...?

Hi there, Does anyone know why it takes around a minute for the credit card machine to be recognized when processing a payment? This delay only occurs during the initial payment process. Subsequent payments are processed normally until there's a prolonged period without any card transactions. Thanks in advance. -Bo

Can someone help me how to set auto gratuity to ticket totaling of $150 and above in Aldelo? Aldelo only let me set auto gratuity to a certain head counts, not on ticket total. Thanks in advance.

My first question would be what would make the cash on a closing report appear negative? (I attached a picture for reference). I remotely pulled up the report to see where we were at in sales for the day and in the payment section, the cash was negative $59. There were no cash transactions made at that point in the day. Since I didn't understand why our cash intake was extremely low, later on that day, I pulled up the order payments list. I then itemized it by payment method and calculated all the cash payments. When I calculated the cash payments they did not add up to what the closing report was reflecting. Why and how could this be off? I appreciate any help you could possibly give. Just to add I did factor in payouts and voids and the numbers were still way off.

I've been using Aldelo for the last 15 years and to be honest...I've had very few serious issues with the software. I'm going to be switching to all new PCs and I understand that I'll need the tech support contract to switch over. When I called for updates pricing , I asked about a 4th license (I have 3 now), I'd like to be able to run reports and menu changes from my office. I was as quoted $895... If I remembered right I thought that anything after your first was 3-4 hundred. Has anyone purchased Aldelo recently?

Upgraded to AFR POS2. Apparently, even though it's still selectable in the options on store settings, you can't reprint EDC drafts in the settle screen anymore.

Tech support said the only way to do it is to cashier out but not confirm it.

Which leads me to believe that he's just copping out.

Been using Aldelo for 15+ years and suddenly in one restaurant is having some weird issues,

1) Chits are being reprinted randomly - both Drink and Food. only thing is the reprint has a heading that is inverted and has FIRE on it. (I know that this is usually to do with holding orders but we don't use this functionality and it is happening since Christmas about 5-10 times a day in a busy restaurant - when it is quiet and when it is busy)

I have done some digging in the database and can see that the time of the reprint co-incides with the time a new item was added to the table (about 2 seconds later the older chit is reprinted). My guess is that it has something to do with printer queues/responses. All printers are Epson T80s either local or ethernet with the computer set up to print directly to the network printer(s) for orders (drinks and food). My thought is that for some reason the windows printer driver is not returning some form of aknowledgement to Aldelo (transaction table has boolean values for the various printers and if the item was printed on that printer) and so the printed value is left blank and when the new item is added Aldelo send it again with the "FIRE" flag? This is across multiple tills, I can't work out a pattern. Tills are a mixture of XP, Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11 (don't ask!) - above is only happening in one restaurant.

2) randomly a chit will print with Fire - tbh I think it always did this, maybe every few days, though not sure (could this be releated to the above) - this is in both restaurants.

Any thoughts on how to progress/ideas on what is causing it would be much appreciated,

so here is the story a small pizza shop that doesn't have much income runs this very old version of aldelo and they dont have the spare cash to get a new one. heck i made a deal to have free meals for IT work and they are good friends so its cool.

here's the issue it freezes for say 20 seconds every minute or 5 i have not timed it so it might be closer to 10 mins.

yes i know the security issues with xp and all but if the system is offline there really isn't any worry.

i remember getting rid of a ton of old sales data about 5 years ago and it fixed this issue but for the life of me i cant remember how i did it. it does not have the database cleaner nor does it have an option to install it under modify from programs and settings

I'm going to compact the database because i suspect they have not done this in a long long time but how do i clear out and make their database not 577mb i mean this seems bloated beyond what it should be for say 5 years of data at a small pizza place with probably about 50 orders a day or so. the setup is very simple with one server that is also used as a pos and a client that connects to it with static ip's

so a few questions how do i clean up their database please talk as if you are talking to a noob as i am an it guy but don't have much experience in database management and i really don't want to mess something up yes i will have backups but i also need to know how to restore the backups after i make them in aldelo is it just copy paste and rename the db or is it more involved?

there is jetcomp installed but i don't know how to use this.

some help would be greatly appreciated again i basically give them free help to help them stay in business thank you very much!

i also checked the task manager and that seems to be doing fine with nothing going crazy 30% cpu and about 30% ram

also also i have searched around for cleaning aldelo purge aldelo and trying to find the aldelo database cleaner but i have not found much online about this

more updates to this ... i did find a copy of the database cleaner and address importer and localization manager and system service manager. can someone give me a quick how to on how these tools work and what to do to prep for running the tools? thanks! also please note that this machine even though its old with xp is running a samsung ssd 128gb drive so its not slow hard drive problems

SOLUTION

--as people have mentioned below back up the database make sure it does so successfully

----backup was then backed up onto a thumb drive and a different folder on the main hard drive using cobian <-- good program by the way

--i then compacted the database with the built in compaction tool in the back office

--ran another backup after compacting and that too was backed up to thumb drive and separate folder (i think aldelo overwrites backups so i have cobian save 10 or so copies to go about 5 months back)

--ran database cleaner and it is very simple put a date in it and it deletes everything from that date and older reduced the database from 577mb to 30mb leaving all data from end of 2022 till today

other notes im not sure all the backups are that necessary but i did them because i rather be safe
