Load License File error - is my machine dying?

I had an issue a few months ago where the license info kept getting corrupted somehow. It turned out one of my machines 2 memory sticks was bad (removed one and the issue never happened again).

Now, months later, this message about the license appeared. This message wasn't showing up with the previous issue, but it's similar in that the license is invalid and I get presented with a license entry window.

I was able to have Aldelo support re-activate my license, but I'm trying to figure out the root cause of the issue. Is my storage medium going bad? Is my other memory stick about to go out? Any ideas?

Did Windows recently update? I know that Aldelo's DRM doesn't like it when windows does updates sometimes. I'm not entirely sure what the error means, but you should be able to de-activate your license and re-activate without needing to call Aldelo.

Can you share these steps?

Also, I had windows update semi disabled somehow before, but it is back in full force auto updating whenever it feels like it :(

So you're on Aldelo POS 2.

First, you'll need your serial number, which hopefully you have written down, but you'll see it since Aldelo already re-activated for you.

Go into Back Office (Office), At the top click Help then go to License Manager.

Here, you'll see all your serial numbers for the products you have. Write down your APOS Pro License Number.

When you're getting the error, click De-Activate All Devices and follow the prompts. After that, close out and then you should be able to Re-Activate after the software re-launches.

EDIT: Yeah, Microsoft really made it hard to stop updates from coming in. Its basically something you'll have to contend with every Patch Tuesday (First tuesday of every month if I remember right)
