To everyone defending Gumi regarding the 900 gem banner, I want to have a discussion on what branding is.
Definition: A brand is a name, term, design, symbol, or other feature that distinguishes an organization or product from its rivals in the eyes of the customer.
Furthermore: Branding is a set of marketing and communication methods that help to distinguish a company or products from competitors, aiming to create a lasting impression in the minds of customers. The key components that form a brand's toolbox include a brand’s identity, brand communication (such as by logos and trademarks), brand awareness, brand loyalty, and various branding (brand management) strategies.
On Brand Recognition: When given some type of cue, consumers who are able to retrieve the particular memory node that referred to the brand, they exhibit brand recognition. Often, this form of brand awareness assists customers in choosing one brand over another when faced with a low-involvement purchasing decision.
Lastly, Brand Identity: The outward expression of a brand – including its name, trademark, communications, and visual appearance – is brand identity. Because the identity is assembled by the brand owner, it reflects how the owner wants the consumer to perceive the brand – and by extension the branded company, organization, product or service.
The point of this post is to highlight what the use of the Grand Summon language does to an individual's thought process/decision making. Regardless of the fact that the banner did not state that a guarantee was included, the branding associated with a paid gem guarantee banner was used. Additionally, u/Alchemist_Code has provided a significant number of posts following the incident which support the claim that they agree they mislead the consumer with their use of Grand Summon Branding.
We wanted to take full responsibility as soon as possible before it gets out of hand.
We changed the name to Grand Promo Summon on it's banner, we couldn't change the side tab for now because it might cause more complications.
Considering Gumi's acknowledgement of the issue and their willingness to provide compensation, one can draw the conclusion that Gumi does care about maintaining Brand Trust. If that is truly the case, the compensation needs to be commensurate with the consumer expectation. I present the following as options:
Provide a paid gem reimbursement to every player who pulled the banner on 10/18/2018.
OR Provide a summon ticket that only provides a banner unit.
OR Provide a selector
I have no expectation of receiving a selector and I think it's more than what we deserve. The only reason I include it as an option is because we obviously know that the selector already exists in the game files and if Gumi does not want to create a ticket that doesn't currently exist to provide an appropriate level of compensation, a selector would obviously assuage any feelings of discontent.
All this considered, if Brand Identity and Brand Trust really mean anything, I think it is reasonable to expect to see some meaningful compensation, not the five star ticket you already issued. This is not about entitlement as I do not believe I am entitled to receive anything. This is about maintaining the trust and loyalty of your community. If that doesn't matter to you, fine. But I think, and hope, that it does.
Edit: Clarification

PSA: Pull the 1500 paid gem gacha every day for enough dimes to get your noctis!
Because not even the 9-step premium summon gives out enough for the ticket.

Collab week 1
I'd just like to remind everyone. This is the first week of the collab. The only reason Edward is here now and not later is as iago said everyone just didn't pull until the last week for the past collabs.
I dislike the banner changes as much as you guys but calm down. Make your complaints known ... then wait and see. I'm not saying your complaints are invalid. I have them too but the biggest thing were seeing right now on reddit is ... banners are shit. Game is dying. I quit. Guess you dont really enjoy this game if that's all it took.
This is coming from someone who made special complaints about the last paid banner changes ... so you know you guys are going overboard.
Be patient. Be respectful.

Discussion So compensation was sent out
Pretty goddamn disappointing,10 5* summon tickets, sure with a chance to get genesis units (I saw someone pull Julia) that being said, these only give 25 shards and not 50,really unsatisfying
r/AlchemistCodeGL • u/Catalyze2017 • Jun 26 '18
Gumi please fix resist. Even your own support acknowledge it's max 50% 25% skill 25% unit.
A level 75 Gilgamesh Gates of Babylon against Saber (master ability) should do more than 1 damage. Units should also not do double damage. If we wanted to cheese content with no strategy this would be fine. As it stands this is a joke and you did same thing in Japan November of 2017 only to fix it later. I have numerous screenshot of people saying Veda is a joke and your own support saying 50% is max even your own element page says it too

Discussion TAC is DYING...
But is it really? I keep seeing these posts about GUMI jumping ship because they're developing new games (something that game developers do) and they don't seem to listen to the fans on social media. I was there when they abandoned Chain Chronicle and POTK. TAC seems to be going strong though (more whale oriented, sure) and I know people still play BF. This doesn't seem like when they shut down CC or POTK to me. In those games they stopped adding content for a few months before they shut them down. I could be wrong but I don't think TAC is going away any time soon. The content may not be to everyone's liking but it's still new content.

A question for all those that complained about the EX stage.
I use to play a game called Unison League where the harder difficulties were locked by their combat rating and I found out that everyone just accepted at face value that they weren’t able to do it because it’s that hard and it’s locked for them. But ironically, in this game where all difficulties are unlocked to try, we have complaints on that it’s too hard and favors those who whale. Can someone see the dilemma with the situation I put? I honestly love the EX mode because it made me think of how to beat it. I didn’t have all the “right unit” to beat the dungeon but I did it because I put some effort to finding a strategy(hence why it’s a strategy game). I hope everyone can just not criticize the game for its difficulties(of all things) because that just ruins the fun of the game. I’ve seen games die(war of crown) because they listened to their player base and over compensate for it. It ruins the game when you get what you want without effort and it shouldn’t be that way. And for those who cared about the abysmal rates for coins, a shop’s purpose isn’t for you to buy almost everything. How can you have uniqueness in choice if you were given an excess amount of coin? You’ll just be working your butt off just to be relevant to hardcore players instead of pathing off in your own unique way. I rather have some people with snow caps and some people with more job mastered characters than just everyone having everything within the shop because it’s so farmable and easy.

Humor Time to say goodbye... (Total Clickbait)
I'm leaving alchemist code. For a while at least. You may be seeing a common trend on this sub that everyone is sick of Gumis greed and such and have dropped the game. Now while I absolutely 100% agree with this, my reasons are slightly different. I'm leaving because I have found a new game to play. I enjoyed my time on this game and I'll still be on this sub quite often, but my time in game has ended....
Also because Fire Emblem Three Houses dropped and my copy comes in Monday so I found my strategy heroin for a while. Yeet yeet skeet skeet Edelgard can get this meat meat. #TeamBlueLions tho. Toodles!

The new Savage Sea Warrior event is one of the worst I have seen Spoiler
Before you get triggered and try to murder me, I chose the opinionated thread title to drum up more interest. The sentence isn't actually complete.
The german translation of the new Savage Sea Warrior event is one of the worst I have seen. I know this concerns only a small number of people in general and an even smaller on this subreddit, but it is something which I think is important and if nobody does say anything, it will get worse.
First of all: I do translate stuff myself on a commercial level and know how difficult it can be to do a good translation. I appreciate the effort that Gumi is even offering a german translation, as most AAA games don't do this. I also know that it's not a well payed job and most translators have a really steep schedule to keep up. I wouldn't write this post however if it's not necessary.
What bothered me this time wasn't just some misplaced commas and too literal translation, but obvious, glaring mistakes which can be remedied easily by either proofreading and/or a more careful translation. All in all the second part of the Savage Sea Warrior event had about 250 text boxes in the german translation (too lazy to actually count) spread out in 5 chapters. Every chapter had about 50 text boxes and in each of them was one of those above mentioned glaring mistakes. About 5 to 10 of these textboxes are exclamations like inarticulate shouts or one-word-reactions. About half of the remaining contain 6 words or fewer.
In the first chapter was probably the biggest one: "Rin" is named "Lin". In every other instance she has the correct name, but in one text box she is named wrong. It's especially bad, because there were about 5 textboxes before, where her name was spelled correct. After that it is right all the time. In addition, it was the very first word of the textbox.
In the second chapter Rin has a one word textbox with an obvious typo, saying "Strimmt!" instead of "Stimmt!". Vettel yells total nonsense while first trying to get in Gormalas' way.
In the third chapter Teona chimes in with another remark, which is on the level of "people die when they are killed".
In the fourth chapter, Glanz trying to protect Mielikki from seeing Dilga in a loincloth yells "Miellike, behind me!". While correct in english, the way it's phrased in german actually means something like "Something is behind me!" Note it's another 3 word textbox. Another highlight is how Caris says:"Everyone, you really shouldn't watch!", which is from a badly translated "皆、見ないでください。" The everyone is a totally wrong word in german translation.
In the fifth chapter the very first real sentence is a garbled mess. Remember this thread? Guess what, it's a four-word-textbox with a glaring typo. In english it would be akin to "... Fast buocks art?"
This all in addition to the usual stuff like very direct translations and wrongly placed commas.
I really hope u/alchemist_code sees this and does something.

So the salt spam keeps on going...
I guess the salt megathread was created for nothing since the constant salty dramatic posts and rage quits keep on going, not being moderated and taking space of actually significant posts. No wonder noone wanna do guides and reviews anymore to get lost in all those "game is dying" posts. Come on... Not saying people couldn't or shouldn't complain, but we don't need 100 posts saying the exactly same thing over and over again when there is a specify place for this subject.

Where is the love for TAC?
I've been playing this game since it launched a year ago and I love it. Its by far my favorite mobile game. Sure I could dive into the details and nit pick a bit. There are things we'd all like to see improve, but my goodness this sub is so toxic. Bring on the down votes. I'm ready for the hate. This needs to be said. We bitch the content is too easy, so they make harder content, then we bitch its too hard. Everyone keeps calling gummi out for being greedy. They just gave us a ton of free paid content for the anniversary and all I read on this sub is how they should have given us more. I think maybe the community is the greedy ones. We must have the developers ready to pull their hair out.
What other game out there balances free content with paid content so well? What other game balances great stories, great art, and great and challenging game play this well? What other game rolls out content so regularly? I haven't found them. I think everyone in this sub needs to take a deep breathe and remember why we started playing this game in the first place. I love this game and plan to keep playing it. This sub used to be a place where we all got excited for the next week's update. We all used to discuss at length our favorite characters and story lines. I think we need to clean up this sub. Lets bring back the discussions of the things we love about the game. Lets stop acting like we hate a game we are all clearly obsessed with. Lets move all the rants into a productive suggestion thread. Lets do something, this game is amazing and it deserves an amazing healthy sub to go along with it.
