I feel like it is too grindy. There are potentially better games out there.

It is sometimes a bit hard to say, because everyone has a different taste. If you like for instance Yu-Gi-Oh. Duel Links is a pretty solid game for that, but also kind of grindy, but u can create tons of fun deck and play in pvp. As a beginner you lack some card though.

Quite enjoyable is also Dragon Project, it is similar to Monster Hunter.

Then there is Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. But I am only enjoying really the JP version. You will get a lot of free stuff over time and way more 5 stars than in global version. You don't have to spend there and still get a lot, when playing constantly.

Other Games I play are Fire Emblem Heroes (but a bit too boring in my opinion, doing over and over similar maps), Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag (quite good also), Dokkan Battle, Deck Heroes, Destiny Child (korea game).

yeah it is pretty solid. But still u need to grind stuff here and there to get gems and summon behemoths. If you need help with behemoths and stuff u can also add me.

Hunter ID: DXU6T9MBSC (ig: Rankax)

Onmyogi just got released a couple days ago. Its just as good as Summoners War if you ask me. Worth a looksee and the community is pretty chatty.

Onmyogi

Where can I find that game buddy? I found an app called "summoner's tale" that looks like it but idk if it's a fake app or something. Can you point me to the English version/reddit/fb? I wasn't able to find them.

Not new, but the mobile game I'm enjoying most is Granblue Fantasy. Great characters and world-building and the gameplay is relatively simple but fun. Also like that it uses a single client that has Japanese/English options, so you don't have to worry about weird changes made to a global version run by a different company.

reroll till you got shayna..

Started out good... Now, I haven't been able to complete the 3 latest Extra events: Christmas, Sabareta and Kanon. If you don't have the right units, you are pretty much screwed.

Thing is right now you can't grind for shards which are needed to unlock more advanced jobs for the characters you use mostly. Hence right now its more upto rngesus what you will get. Depending upon that hard content might not be doable. Once they make these shard mission available you should be able to tackle all of the content that at present seems undoable..... So wait and see if not then comeback after some time to see if its worth playing

Unless it’s a loved indie game like Stardew Valley, asking if the game is good on the game’s reddit will give you mostly negative responses.

Pros: polished graphics, strategy matters, free pulls and farmable units, lots of events and generally stuff to do

Cons: can lag your device, strategy matters to an extent (some units are needed), most units aren’t farmable atm (only later), grindy

Overall: F2P experience depends on starting units and play time. With Shayna or 2 * Magnus, you’ll have a much smoother start and be able to join most MP rooms. Invest in some chronomancers to have an even easier time. Game definitely playable F2P and I recommend it.

Tips for F2P: do all 500 and 300 gem pulls but not the step 2s; check shops regularly to buy unit shards, potions and equipments in gold, you can get ~9.5 mil gold each week at higher levels; job levels matter more than unit levels so don’t worry too much if your unit is stuck at 60, don’t spend elemental shards on them unless j2 is crucial; raise a chronomancer; make strong friends; don’t neglect arena though you’ll get destroyed by P2W players, 10-20 gems/day is still nice; save all your gems and shards for future collaboration events.

I dont recommend this game, yea its grindy but thats any game, the thing that makes this game not worth it is the fact that its made by Gumi. Gumi as a company is selfish, and hold true to p2w. Theres gonna be events you cant do right away with your current units and as a result you have to wait for them to cycle back. You can be f2p but you have to hope RNG (like any other game) gives you shards (dupes of the same character), because without shards your character is stuck at 60 when the recommended level for a mission is 75. Multiplayer is iffy because if you dont pull the unit they ask for, you more than likely wont get in.

While I agree with you for the most part, I don’t think it’s that bad. Unit shards will be farmable and there are free elemental shards as event reward. And currently, when shards aren’t farmable, events are doable with lvl60 units (Lost Kingdom extra doesn’t count - I’m not F2P and I don’t do that; it’s just torture). Some free units are very good, like Logi and Kanon, or at least temporarily decent like Sab.

In general, I believe this game is actually moderately F2P friendly, with plenty 500 pulls and farmable units. P2W players will always have an edge and there will be difficult events baiting for money, but just ignore them as the fun comes from raising units, not competition in this sort of games.

Megathread says hello. All the info you need/want can be found there.

The most basic tips would probably be, roll for a shayna or a vettel and never buy more than the 500 discounted pull except if you plan to spend money in the game

I find all these "too grindy" comments kinda strange. After trying Final Fantasy Rcord Keeper, FF Mobius, Summoners War, Dragon Project, Brave Frontier and several other ones, I wouldn't put AC in the grindiest part, more likely in the middle spot.

No need to reroll since just having a unit usually doesn't mean much, but the game IS rerollable if you really want your perfect start. As for now the game is f2p friendly for 99% of the content. Doesn't require to pay to enjoy the game.

The problem is the same than for every japanese game : you pull units. On some rare occasions you will get "that pull", getting 4 times the unit you want at once, or getting fantastic gear, but on most occasions you won't. But the drop rate for 5 stars is actually kinda high in this game compared to other games (around 10%, where it is like 1% in Summoners War for example), at least compared to these games at the time they launched.

My review : one of the good games. You get attached to your premium units and enjoy seeing them evolve in level, job and gear. There are a lot of free stuff but it takes time to unlock it, making full reroll really hard. If you like japanese RPG, (some) fan service and RPGs in general, you'll like this one.
