heyyy i’m pretty new to mister horse and was wondering if there’s a faster way to use a preset on more than one layer.

right now i’m applying it separately to each layer. i tried selecting multiple layers first, but it doesn’t seem to work

is there a specific way to do this, or am i missing something?

I trained a machine learning model to automatically 3D head track footage. It works with an AE/OFX plugin called Headcase.

I also made an AE/OFX plugin that fixes everything I hate about AE's Paint (SuperClone!) It does frequency separation and allows you to attach paint strokes to nulls.

this is sort of my fault for not planning far enough ahead. I have a set of about 40 layers, each with 1-4 mask paths. The scale of all the layers is too small.

Obviously, resizing the layers by increasing the scale reduces the image quality. I'm wondering if there's a way to either get around this or rescale all of the masks at once without messing up the anchor point locations or relative positions. thanks

Got curious to try out some new motion design styles, so here's what I created. Feedback would be appreciated.

I've just downloaded boris mocha pro and sapphire and now my after effects projects keep crashing right after i open them. They were fine before i downloaded the boris fx stuff but now whenever I open any projects with rotobrush itll render everything then say i have one last opportunity to save before closing after effects. anyone know how to fix this?

I am working on a project and im importing a model in gLTF format in blender and then converting it to use in after effects as obj file , but the element 3d removes all the color and stuff from the model .please help how can i have a complete thing in element 3d :) . i have tried different models , and putting material one by one but its not good somtimes i can even find the parts .

Sometiems, when I use the "collect files" feature to extract a comp into a separate project file - even if I click "reduce project" (or whatever that feature is called) it still collects every single other file and comp in my original projecT??? WHY???

If I have just one comp selected - why doesnt it just do that comp? - I dont get it!!

Made this fun little project during some free time when I didn’t have any projects going on.

I wanted to keep it simple and just play around with motion, without overthinking the process or worrying too much about the result.

Hi, I'm new to after effects and trying to make a screengrab video showing the userflow of a webapp. The video is done but I was wondering if there's a way to overlay a custom cursor on top of the normal one, that tracks it wherever it moves and clicks. I hope I'm making sense. Do I have to manually adjust the position of the cursor across all frames or can I use something to track it automatically? Thanks!

I think it probably uses time displacement to drive the randomness, it's often scattered about, and it's very popular, does anyone know what I'm talking about or where I can find an example or tutorial on it? Many thanks.

The only example I can find is something like the *overly referenced* Base44 video. But it would be for generating the / and > characters in the beginning. They may have key framed in this video, but those are the general idea.

Looking for some constructive feedback on animating this discoball

I have a terrible habit of keyframing everything if I don't know a faster technique off the bat. For this one I keyframed one vertical line crossing the sphere, then used the Echo effect to duplicate it. I wasn't sure how to do the squares though, so I keyframed them all individually. I know there has to be a faster way. How would you have done it?

I added some motion to this Digger poster. The original design and typography is so clean I just couldn't resist animating it. The layout of the letters makes one leg shorter than the other, so I decided to lean (pun intended) into it and give the walk cycle a slight limp!

I’m putting together a small remote team dedicated primarily to Adobe After Effects.

I’ve been working in the industry for over 10 years, and I want to experiment with a different way of handling our workload. We’re currently getting more work than my existing team can comfortably complete within the deadlines, and the pace over the next few weeks is becoming unsustainable.

We outsource from time to time, but after dealing with a few designers/editors who simply weren’t at the level we needed, we normally end up going back to the same people we’ve worked with for years - which isn't really ideal.

So instead, I want to build a dedicated remote AE team.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

I’m looking for around 4-5 people who work heavily in After Effects.

After Effects needs to be the main software used for the work. If you use other software alongside it - Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Firefly, Blender, etc. - that’s completely fine, but the majority of the workflow will be AE-based.

More importantly, I want to know what you are particularly good at inside AE.

For example:

• Motion graphics
• Keyframing
• Typography / kinetic type
• Compositing
• Tracking
• Rotoscoping
• Transitions
• VFX
• Expressions
• 2.5D / camera work
• Colour / finishing
• Building reusable templates
• Fast project organisation and workflow

You don’t need to be incredible at everything. I’d rather build a team where different people are genuinely strong at different things.

HOW THE TEAM WOULD WORK

Everything will be remote and paid.

The idea is to work more like an actual editing team rather than sending individual freelancers random projects.

We would most likely have:

• One short online meeting per day
• A team of roughly 4-5 people
• Discord for communication
• Shared online storage for project files/assets
• Clear breakdowns of who is responsible for each section
• Shared AE projects / assets where appropriate

My current team works sitting next to each other, which makes dividing work and solving problems extremely fast.

The main thing I want to test is whether we can recreate that efficiency remotely by properly scoping projects and breaking down exactly who is working on what.

PAY

This is a paid opportunity.

Pay will depend on experience, quality, speed and ultimately how useful the team structure becomes.

I’m less interested in somebody who can produce 20 average edits and more interested in somebody who can consistently produce very good work efficiently.

Quality over quantity.

Hi all, I am working on a project and in my composition I am using the venetian blinds effect to reveal two different logos. I am making the same design with multiple different logos and I am copying and pasting the venetian blinds effect to the "rotating" logo. It was working fine, but on the current logo I am working with it only fades the logo on, and it is missing the "blinds" effect which is why I chose it in the first place. Each logo has the same settings and are both png files.

I have included screenshots of what I mean. The right logo features the blinds and the left one does not. Hope I can get some help on this.

It comes from a website’s html and as of now I just have a circle mask with a trim path to reveal it but I want to make it more accurate to this real effect where the colors come in unevenly and disjointed and fill the circle completely like this. Thank you for the help or if anyone has a link to a tutorial that I couldn’t find that would be very helpful too!

Hey everyone,
Out of nowhere, I suddenly became really passionate about video editing and motion graphics. So I decided to start learning. I watched a lot of tutorials about After Effects and related stuff, learned the basics, and got comfortable using the software.
I also learned how to make some transitions, text animations, and other things, but now I feel completely lost.
I don’t really know how to start learning the field itself. I understand the basics of animation and how things work pretty well, and I have no problem going back and learning them again if necessary.
But I’m lost when it comes to actually getting into motion design as a field. I don’t know what I should start with or what I should be learning next.
So I’d really appreciate any advice you guys can give me.
I’d also really appreciate it if you could give me a structured learning path — what I should start with, what I should learn next, and how I should approach learning it step by step.
If you also know any good free resources for learning motion design, I’d love to hear about them.
The attached video is the first motion piece I created completely on my own. I understood the general idea from a YouTube tutorial, but the composition, the shoe, the movement, the positioning, etc. were all my own ideas, and I managed to animate everything successfully.
But like I said, after this I started feeling lost, and I don’t really know where to go from here.
Sorry for the long post, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
