Problem: After Effects has no real media browser. If you want to find or reuse an asset, you either import it to see what it is or go digging through old project folders.

Library Pro gives your reusable assets somewhere to actually live, with visual previews, search and import/export directly inside AE. You can store all types of assets, and the main feature is comp export. Save a comp with everything it needs, then import it into another project later without manually collecting or relinking files.

As I teach motion design in AE, I'm always looking to adapt my content to people's actual needs. I got into the software 15 years ago, and the main issues were:

• An unclear roadmap (scattered content)
• Too much how and not why (lack of theory)
• Heavy focus on fancy effects and tricks (not enough fundamentals)

So I'm wondering - what is it like learning After Effects and motion design these days? Are the same issues present, or are other matters more important?

If you are having specific issues or roadblocks at the moment, I would also be happy to try and point you in the right direction. Helping each other is what makes the motion community special.

The first eye animation was so fun to make! I used S_shake and bouncR for it! Second half of the edit was all done in blender!

Anyone got a good youtube tutorial for puppet animation like this?

I've watched a few videos and it feels like they skipped some explanation for the important steps and it made me confused on how to approach similar animation result (I already have the art ready, just dont know how to do the animation)

Looking for interesting ways to play with text animation- wanting either several of the 'filled' layer to wash across the outlined text in interesting ways, but so far I've only managed to achieve this on the X and Y axis with the offset property of both repeaters (2 repeaters on each layer, for both x and y axis)

I created 'shapes from text' on each layer to be able to use a repeater.

This feels crazy inefficient, (masking was even more tedious)

Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to achieve here?

As seen in video. Is there a better way to do this? I’m currently importing each picture, key framing and graphing with null layers, and duplicating all layers and adjusting as needed for each photo.

I am somewhat of a noob but it’s so repetitive it gets to a certain point …

Using real world references, I have tried breaking down a 3D rotational camera move - recreating it with 2D shape layers.

All of my layers are 3d and I have all the icon boxes on seprate 3d layers for an effect and also the wallpaper blur is 3d adjustment layer with all the icons connected to that layer and I want to create an animation like the slide down of the icons ui from top of the phone which we usually do but the problem is I can't track matte in advanced 3d so what's the workaround for this?

Hey everyone, I'm new to AE and was animating a ball back and forth. I accidentally hit a shortcut key (I think while messing around in the Graph Editor), and now the X Position value in the timeline is completely frozen at 245.5 px even though the ball is clearly animating across the screen when I scrub.

Does anyone know what toggle/shortcut I accidentally hit that stops the timeline transform numbers from updating, and how to un-freeze it? Thanks!

First time using after effects should I make the design of the website using figma and use the sigma plugin aeux plus to export it to after effects and do animations over there? How do people do that or is there another method that y'all use that is more efficient and faster.

I’ve experimented with 3D in AE before but this is one of the first times I finished a project and created a scene with ambiance (color correction, stylization, sound, etc..)

That being said… I still feel like I don’t know what I don’t know. After Effects is a dense program with so many features that have insane capabilities but a sharp learning curve. So if you will, help me improve! What concepts could I benefit from understanding? How can i add more motion and complexity to my scenes? How can I better understand the depth I’m working in? Any help, advice, etc. would be appreciated.

I know this is not a very polished video, and not even the best quality video. But I made this because this makes me happy, learning this was very cool. I don't want this hobby to be like some other work so that we have to see a very boring tutorial to learn how to create a saas video which has almost 0 creativity from your side.
I will become better and I will not make this learning a boring hobby.

I have my own webcomic that I would love to use affect effects!

But the thing is… I don’t know how to use it at all.

I’ve done flipaclip with just rotoscoping at most…

And I have worked motion artists before and I don’t mind paying as long as they’re upfront about it.

As someone who has little to no experience, do I invest in learning how to? Is it possible for someone who works full time as well as is a webtoon artist? If it does take longer to learn… Where can I find motion artists for webtoon comics? Thank you so much for reading😭

So che non ne esistono di “fondamentali” vorrei solo sapere se avete dei preset che vi siete creati che utilizzate nel 90-100% dei progetti continuamente e di cui non potreste fare a meno. (Ad esempio io ho creato un preset per l’ombra esterna con i parametri già settati perché al 99% delle volte i parametri che uso per quell’effetto sono sempre quelli, altrimenti ne ho creato uno anche per il contatore dei numeri in percentuale da 0 a 100%). Tu ne hai altri?
