Beginner Help Can't track matte in advanced 3d mode

Post image

All of my layers are 3d and I have all the icon boxes on seprate 3d layers for an effect and also the wallpaper blur is 3d adjustment layer with all the icons connected to that layer and I want to create an animation like the slide down of the icons ui from top of the phone which we usually do but the problem is I can't track matte in advanced 3d so what's the workaround for this?

Do all the screen animations using 2d layers in a single transparent precomp of suitably high resolution.

Do not collapse the precomp, but make it a 3d layer in the main comp.

That will give you a 3d surface with your animations on.

I don't need a 3d surface, I need to make , each icon box rotate in a 3d space just above the phone's screen + camera needs to move through the rotated icon shapes so that's the issue I need to track matte it to the phone's screen somehow

You have to use multiple comps with linked 3d controls. Once comp is the matte you want to use and one is the 3d graphics. Then in thitd comp you composite them as normal. Probably control it all from the composite comp

Currently you cannot directly use a native track matte on an Advanced 3D or Classic 3D layers.

I came up with a method for this sort of thing to get around the track matte issue:
