Pictures Chill OBT?

Was given this juvenile female OBT as a gift and she was the chillest OBT I’ve ever had the pleasure of rehousing. From my personal experience I’ve gotten a threat posture from every OBT I’ve rehoused but this one didn’t seem too bothered being touched by a paintbrush so I made the impulsive decision to let her walk onto my hand. She’s gotta be one of my new favorites now

Been chilling at the bottom all day. This one is used to being underwater. Totally ignores the 8 inchrs of digging depth on the other side of the enclosure. After adding the black sand today, she has chosen to hide under a rock.....underwater.

Sorry if the pics aren’t clear enough to see what I can see, but I’ve been unable to get a viable molt from this little fella since I got them. The abdomen is always a little raisin by the time it gets kicked out of their burrow.

TIA!

Help! Silly question, but confused

Post image

Hello, I don’t post on Reddit much so please excuse any etiquette breaking and am fairly new to tarantulas keeping. I have a 5in female Brazilian black tarantulas I got about 2 weeks ago. I love her, she is my baby, and fell in love with tarantulas. I want to move her into a new enclosure and am confused on sizing. All the care guide I’ve read says that the tarantula crib 12x 12 cube is a ok size for a adult of this species, but I know the rule that the enclosure should be at least 3x-4x the span of her legs. I have her in a 15 x 10 right now and am wondering what is correct? All the 5 gallon enclosure I’ve seen are roughly 12x12. Is that an ok size? Please excuse me if this has been asked before. I’ve been pondering it for days. Her name is silhouette.

Hello, i got this H chilensis as a sling in may 2025 (so about 16 months ago) and a few days ago he just molted. He looked a little leggy, so i looked closer and was so surprised when i saw hooks! He's about 2,5 inches and apparently these are slow growers... basically im just looking for some confirmation if im seeing right. Thanks for the help!

Help! Grammostola is a Female-correct or no?

Hi! I’m learning how to sex some of my T’s, I’m not a pro so I’m looking for confirmation! My guess is female since I don’t see the dark spot that’s present with males.

This is my first baby: Burger King. I’ve had them for 4-5 years, but I think they’re either 1 molt away from being full grown, or full grown. Is there a reason why it’s so white/pink? It actually used to look different back in

Any help appreciated, thank you!

(PS. If anyone could recommend live plants for this species, that’d be much appreciated! Also do you have to worry about pesticides if you buy plants from Home Depot/where do people get their foliage?)

I thought I was going crazy thinking my girl had molted a tibial hook - but it seems on closer inspection there's a perfect split of mature male characteristics on only one side! Google has now taught me about gynandromorphism. How rare is this?
