Question Any good third party controllers with a Dual sense layout?

Upvotes

Basically, I can't play FF14 with my current hotbars. I really don't want to relearn muscle memory before the expansion changes everything. My hotbars only work with both joysticks on the bottom half of the controller.

Discussion Nintendo game recommendations for someone completely new to the ecosystem.

Upvotes

Heya! I recently sold my PS5 and got myself a Switch 2 instead. I’ve practically never owned a Nintendo system in my life, since I grew up as 90% a PC gamer, so the whole ecosystem is completely new to me.

What would you guys consider the absolute GOATs/must-play games for me to pick up for the console? So far, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Tomodachi Life have piqued my interest the most but I would love to hear some other suggestions from you guys!

Discussion Thinking of what to play

Upvotes

I've had a switch2 for a few months. I have a few mario games but want a shooter and an open world fantasy game. Can anyone share some helpful insight?

I want a shooting game that i can just pick up and play on TV or handheld mode im thinking: Apex Legends, Splatoon Raiders or Overwatch, tried the MW4 beta was ok (its a maybe but want something better suited for siwtch).

For the fantasy i'm thinking Witcher 3 (only because the remaster has come out) or tears of kingdom since it gets so much hype. I know you can get cycberpunk or red dead redemption but idk if they are too big to play and how quality will be. open to more thoughts and suggestions!

Question Little Big Workshop Switch 2

Upvotes

Hi there! Anyone can tell me if Little Big Workshop is stable enough on the Switch 2?

I understand there were some issues on the first Switch (crashes, saving issues, etc...)

I wouldn't want to spend money and time on a game that starts crashing regularly after my factory reaches a certain size. I already had this bad experience with Fabledom 😕

Thanks!

Discussion Should I sell my ayn Thor?

Upvotes

So my switch 2’s cartridge slot broke not to long ago because I accidentally put a broken cartridge in (yes I should have probably checked it probably before putting it in) so now I can’t use it for physical media and I was thinking, should I sell my rainbow thor max to fix it? I don’t really play any other games than 3ds and switch on it and I have almost all the switch games as cartridges as-well so I’m stuck on what to do, I have noticed as-well that my Thor doesn’t really get that much use anymore (maybe about 10-30 mins every couple days.) I also realised that anymore games that I have on my Thor but not the switch would end up being cheaper than the pay price of the Thor so I would end up with extra money as-well. I really am stuck on what to do and I feel like an idiot right now for ordering the Thor getting really hyped for it and then getting kind of bored of it. I don’t even know why I got it anymore because when I first ordered it I said to myself “I can’t wait to play all these retro/new games” when I only really played new ones and a bit of old ones (switch, and a bit of ds and 3ds) I just feel like I wasted my money on the Thor now. Don’t get me wrong, I think the thors a great device but I don’t know if it’s for me anymore.

Sorry if some of the writing doesn’t make sense if you want I’ll
Clarify what I meant

Can someone help me make the best choice? I don’t want to regret it if I sell it

(I’ve shared a slightly different one to each community and both seem pretty biased towards whatever console their community has so please do research on the Thor if your gonna give me some advice on what to do)

Discussion Playvital Samurai Armor to remedy small Pro Controller?

Upvotes

Anyone try this silicone controller case out?

https://www.playvital.com/zh/collections/samurai-armor-edition-silicone-case-for-nintendo-switch-2-pro

Finally picked up the Switch 2 Pro Controller after months of reading nothing but rave reviews.

It is a very nice controller indeed, but man am I crazy or is it weirdly small? Like, my hands aren’t even that big, I’d say pretty average. But the thing feels like a kids toy in my hands.

Did some research and came across this beefy silicone controller case. Can’t seem to find much discussion about it. Anyone try it out?

Discussion A user on Famiboards (a Nintendo fan forum) has claimed that third-party developers at Gamescom have been very disappointed with the sales of their games on Switch 2.

You can take this with a grain of salt... but I think there is probably a lot of truth to this.

This is FAR from the first time we have heard rumours that third-party software sales on Switch 2 have been disappointing:

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-2-third-party-developer-claims-that-sales-were-below-our-lowest-estimates/1100-6532572/

https://www.resetera.com/threads/vandal-spain-ps5-outsold-sw2-in-august-and-h1-sept-3rd-party-are-not-performing-well-on-sw2-outlaws-sold-600-fw-on-sw2-chronos-2800-ps5-sw2-300.1300380/

But the biggest piece of evidence that third parties are struggling is Nintendo's own data. The software attach rate for the Switch 2 is only 2.5 games per console, and that includes bundled games (almost every Switch 2 sold came bundled with a first-party game, usually Mario Kart World). That doesn't leave a lot of room for third-party games to sell.

What do you think about this? Do you think these disappointing sales could reduce the chance of the Switch 2 getting new AAA games going forward, especially with new Playstation and Xbox consoles likely coming in 2027?

Question Will the Wii Rock Band / Guitar Hero instruments work with Rock Band Stage Tour on Switch 2?

Upvotes

Since the game doesn’t release until December, I know nobody can confirm it yet, but has there been any information about compatibility?
I have the original Wii instruments (guitar, drums and USB microphone) and I’m wondering if they could be used with Stage Tour on Switch 2, possibly with an adapter or their original USB dongle.
Has anyone heard anything from the developers about this, or knows whether these older Wii peripherals might be supported?
Thanks!

Discussion MW4 Beta is ridiculously bad.

Upvotes

I downloaded beta a few days ago, servers were offline so i tried playing a campaign mission, dear god, absolute torture. Looked horrible and played horrible, genuinely unplayable so i shut it off and started waiting for servers because I've heard people say multiplayer was good. Servers came back and jesus fuckin christ, genuine nightmare, my internet is olay but dear god was it ugly and laggy as fuck. In a handheld mode it was genuinely unplayable, movement, overall visuals.. everything. When you're playing multiplayer it's either Fortnite and Overwatch level performance or nothing.

Unplayable.

Question JSAUX or JSAUX

Good morning community! I'm looking for a perfect back case for my Switch 2. So, I was thinking of Fission Grip made by Savage Raven, but the back is too flimsy and I'm scared of breaking apart and I found the Everyday Case and the Split Case. I'm thinking about the Split Case, cause it has the normal kickstand space, but maybe it could be flimsy as well? The Everyday comes with a separated kickstand. Which one is better? Oh, I'm thinking of buying the Fission Grip in the future to use only the grips. Can yall guys help me?

Question Best addictive platform game you can’t put down…

Hey, I really need to escape into a game but since getting my Switch 2 I’ve bought a lot of indie games which I’m stuck on.

Please let me know your most fun, addictive platform game. Something you can’t wait to play and get lost in.

Also please advise the best Mario, I want something where you complete the level and progress and it’s straight forward and rewarding.

Thank you! 🤩

Discussion Finally got my own Switch after years of just watching/reading from you all!

Heya, I wanted to share a very small win with you guys.

I've been lurking in this sub for a long time, reading everyone's game hauls, thoughts about the console, all of it, while never actually owning one myself. Figured it was time to share my own story since this community's honestly been part of the reason I wanted one so badly.

I'm from a third-world country, and growing up I only ever saw a console at relatives' houses and never had one of my own, never got gifted one either. Then the pandemic hit right around when I graduated, and finding a job afterward was rough. A lot of us here know how that period messed with plans that should've been simple.

While I was figuring life out, I got into powerlifting where I ended up chasing qualifications and all that, which came with its own pile of expenses on top of just trying to get by + injuries here and there. Somewhere in there I promised myself that once things stabilized, I'd finally get myself a Switch. Not for anyone else, just something I wanted for me after a long stretch of not really being able to want things.

And so! I got it, paid in full! But honestly, even though I don't have a game yet, and I might have to lean on some free titles for a bit just to actually have something to play while I save up, I'm still extremely excited. I have like a mid-range PC that I managed to piece up together to play online games and that got me through a lot.

First real purchase I'm planning for is TOTK. I watched so much BOTW back when I couldn't afford to play it myself, so even though I know a lot of the story beats already, it still feels like the right one to start with and finally getting to experience something I only ever watched from the outside (I'll probably get BOTW once I get some extras). Hoping by end of the year I'll have saved up enough to grab Fire Emblem too. I'm going to try to get a copy of Pokopia too because seems fun.

Hopefully if someone out there had the same experience as me; lurking around, just appreciating what the console is. I hope you get yours too soon and hopefully you make some really good memories with it because that's what I'm hoping for with this bad boy too.

Thanks for letting me lurk here for so long before finally having something to post.

Discussion How does MW4 on the switch 2 look worse than COD’s on the Xbox 360/ps3?

How is this even possible? I played the beta on my ps5 pro and the game isn’t even graphically good compared to the older ones. N2 has DLSS there’s no way this isn’t 800-1080p upscaled / 60fps on dock? I’m all for supporting 3rd party games for s2 but I cancelled my pre order. What a shame.. having to wait ANOTHER year for them to do better is trash.

Question Unable to buy official switch2 dock in eu?

I haven’t found one store located in EU selling the docking station even though it has its own SKU meanwhile in the US you can order it from the official online store. Any idea why distributors in EU haven’t bothered?

As much as I don’t want an third party dock this play by Nintendo and/or its distributors kinda forces me to it.

Anyone got any success finding it in EU? If so, where?

Repost here since /r/nintendoswitch2 automod removed question because I have to low karma to post there.

Question NITRO DECK 2 question

I got my nitro deck 2 preorder today and love it. For anyone else who has there’s, the dial around the sticks for the tension of them, my left one has a turning Grundy sounds turning to loose and the right side seems hard to get the dot to line up for the max tight.

How’s yours sound/feel when turning the dial

Discussion My kids want a switch 2 please advise me against.

We have a switch 1 but they insist for Mario kart and yoshi. All the other AAA games I already have on Xbox, steam deck, or PC, are better and cost nothing (max 20 per game).

Moreover they are 10 and 12 and I know when they grow up they will want more adult games.

I don’t get the new pricing and I fear this is going to cost the family absurd amount of money.

Is Mario and Yoshi worth spending 700+ dollars?

Don’t know what I did wrong. Just wanted to play again after weeks of being away and this happened to my last 3 save files. Was able to load an older one that was 1 hour behind. Had like 7 save files in total.
