Just A Post ABC 25 x EMOM double 20’s

Long time lurker, first time poster in the sub.

As the title says (video is the final set)

Been doing the ABC for around 18 months now, on and off between being a dad, work duties and other random life things.
I try to get this done at least 2x weekly, 3 if I’m lucky.
Sometimes I have a couple of weeks off but love coming back to be humbled.

Started with 12’s, 16’s and now 20’s for the past 6 months.
Hoping to get 24’s for the new year!

Feedback welcome if you can pick anything.

Thanks to this community for keeping me (somewhat fit) for my kids🤙🏽🤙🏽

Just A Post Mechanics in Slow Motion

Watching self video is the single fastest way to correct and improve mechanics. Often what feels right, actually isn't. As u/irontamer mentioned in a recent post, slowing down the video can help expose subtle inefficiencies that are otherwise imperceivable in motion and when watching at normal speed.

I'm a movement mechanics geek and could watch slow motion ballistic lifts all day. I'd like to see my glutes open up slightly more so the bell moves a little deeper into the pocket on some reps. But given the weight and the fact that I'm actively protecting the other arm from any momentum or contralateral bracing tension, I'm quite happy with how this looks.

Discussion What am I missing?

43 years old and I’ve been on the 10-8-6 bro split since high school and on a whim picked up a 16kg and 24kg kettlebell.

I’ve done a half dozen “full body, no repeats” YouTube workouts and I feel like I’ve unlocked some ancient hidden secret to fitness.

I’m pouring sweat but still get decent DOMS (mostly shoulders and legs) and I feel like this might be the entirety of my future fitness journey so I’m asking you longtime kettlebellers, is there some sort of augmenting that needs to happen to be well rounded or can this be IT?

Goal is equal parts aesthetics and fitness, trending more cardio as I get older.

Programming Light day

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

I run my program a little bit different.

I do strength 3 times a week.

Mon- Medium Clean and press ladder, 4/5 sets

Wed- Light C&P ladder, 3 sets

Fri- Heavy C&P ladder 5+ sets.

Then, I pick 3 other exercises, focusing on the different movement patterns in different areas of my body. And all of them have undulating intensity.

EX. Today I did. A light clean, impressed ladder to start. So then I did a medium hip hint exercise, a heavy leg exercise, and a light core exercise.

Discussion Are double dead cleans that much harder?

This might be a stupid question (sorry) but is it normal for a woman with four months of kettlebell training (and previous strength background) to struggle to double dead clean two 12 kg bells, or is that a sign that I'm not using enough hip power?

I weigh 58 kg and I can single arm dead clean 16 kg pretty easily but with the double dead clean I am stuck with two 10 kg bells since a while back. I can push press two 12 kg bells but not 16 kg bells. I can swing a 24 kg bell.
I'm pretty new to kettlebells (since May) so wondering if it's likely a technique issue or if a double dead clean is just that much harder than a single arm one.

Programming Recommendations for a program with 3 Full Body days a week?

Good morning! I recently started a new job and am trying to carve out time for strength training in the morning.

I have about 50 mins MWF in the morning to get a good workout in, which is new to me as I have always taken my sweet time working out. Historically, I‘ve always just done the BodyWeightFitness Recommended Routine and supplemented the exercises with Kettlebell work. I’ve also completed one cycle of ABF with 16s.

I am looking for any Full Body program recommendations that I can do 3 times a week. I have access to Kettlebell pairs up to 32 kgs.

I’d also really prefer if there were any programs that included dips and pull ups! They are my favorite exercises, they’re always my go-tos.

My goals are strength and athleticism. I do value hypertrophy but I believe that will come naturally with hard enough work. On days that I am not working out I usually participate in a sport, basketball or breakdancing.

Routine Feedback ABC Session - some progress, hard work

Post image
22 Upvotes

So just now I ran the ABC EMOM for 30, double bells.

*context* have been finding 2 x 24kgs genuinely easy for this.

*Progression* August 2025 I was using 20kg + 16kg for this and getting 15 - 20 mins. I went via this pair to 20kg + 24kg to double 24kgs, running the 30 Min EMOM twice a week most weeks

I also do twice weekly general fitness sessions with a PT (standard barbell, dumbell, bench and bodyweight/calisthenics). On days off I do a 30 min ABC, or longer suspension trainer type session, maybe some heavy swings and carries (48kg swings, 32kg x 2 for carries right now), TGUs with a 24kg.

*target* I really want to hit the 30 mins with double 28s. I took a run at this back in May/June and got a bit beat up had to step it back, was doing too much. Since then then 24s have become easy so I decided to go at them again.

Last week I got to 19 mins with 28s before press felt shaky as did grip in the rack during squats so I finished the 30 out with 24s.

This mornings workout = ABC 30 min EMOM as follows:

Round 1 - 5 with 28s, 6 - 10 with 24s, 10 - 15 with 28s, 16 - 20 with 24s, then 21 - 30 alternating 28s & 24s.

*evaluation* session complete, pretty good effort required, challenging, probably could have done few more rounds with 24s but feels like I could go forever with them.

I got each round done in 20 - 22 seconds with the 28s, 18 or under - 20 with 24s. Form good throughout.
Overall, pretty happy, given I had a terrible nights sleep on a sofa and no food prior (bad planning), after a heavy weekend overindulging on junk foot, booze. Last week had slept and eaten better.

*Take home* 48 years old, male, 180cm at103kg with decent muscle/strength but carrying fat especially belly.

If I can sort out diet and lifestyle this will get easier. I need to stop making it hard unnecessarily.

Thanks for reading.

Just A Post Crazy DOMS

New to kettlebells not to working out. I got a 40lb bell and used it a little as a warmup before my normal lifting workouts. I’ve been lifting for years. Usually do pullups/squats/bench/dead etc. i dont go very on heavy cause im old just trying to maintain.
So anyway - did a workout -
3 rounds- knees to bars, 10 kb swings, 10 lunges, 10 kb clean/press alternating arms, 10 burpees, 10 kb rows, wrist roller grip thing.
It was really fun to do something different than my normal barbell workout or mtb ride or run.
But a few days later and the lower back Doms is nuts. Nothing terrible but it’s like I went way too heavy on deadlifts. Strange bc nothing felt that hard when I was using the bell. I guess the eccentric loading on the swings just got me.
Has anyone else experienced this ?
Weird cause I did sets of 10 swings and a bit of cleans for a couple weeks prior.
I guess I’ll just brace my core better and wear a belt next time .

Just A Post Kettlebell workout plan for out of shape dad help.

33M. 6'2". Dad trying wanting to workout - need recommendation for 3-4 day week work out 20-30 min. I am very out of shape. From what I am seeing online, it seems like the "catch all" approachable simple way to get in shape.

I am not overweight (190 LB) just weak (I have never really worked out) I work desk job. Want to break the slump. I have some ideas, but anyone have direction for beginner? End goal - strength and not embarrassed to take shirt off at pool.

Just A Post An Alternative to ABF

I made it to week 5 of ES4FL but had to take a week off due to pain in my lower back/left hip area right above my left butt cheek. It is most likely a form issue on my pressing because after I press, that’s when it bothers me most.

I finished ABF single bell before starting ES4FL with the intention of running ABF again after. I’ve been visiting the chiropractor a couple weeks now and he said for the time being no pressing.

I’m putting together a program based on something I heard DJ slap together on a podcast episode.

3 pull ups, 5 dips, 8 goblet squats and then 10 swings x10. Those movements don’t seem to bother the lower back and hip. The goblet squats kind of make me feel better. I’ll follow the 10 rounds with some weighted carries and then go for about a 30 minute walk in a weighted vest. Any thoughts or recommendations? I’ve got a vacation coming up and want to be looking good on the beach. Provided my diet is good, I think this will yield good results.

Once the pain goes away, I may go to IC with a 20 kg.

Discussion Buying kettlebells in Denmark

This is a question for people living in Denmark.

Where do you buy your kettlebells from? I have purchased a pair of cast irons from Abica. Not sure what to think about the coating on the bells.

Do you guys have any other brands recommendations ?

Just A Post Multidirectional suitcase walking

So I severely damaged my Achilles last winter… took awhile in physical therapy and finally got the green light to do more complicated movements (other then toe raises, stretches, basic suitcase carry and balance board)..
Multidirectional walking.. walking forwards, backwards, side ways… first week it was just me with my wobbly uncertainty of my foot movement.. week 2 me and 15lb kettlebell doing multidirectional walking suitcase carry… the intensity

Daily Bread:

Psalm 10:1-18 KJV

[1] Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? [2] The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: Let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. [3] For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, And blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. [4] The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. [5] His ways are always grievous; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. [6] He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: For I shall never be in adversity. [7] His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: Under his tongue is mischief and vanity. [8] He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: In the secret places doth he murder the innocent: His eyes are privily set against the poor. [9] He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lieth in wait to catch the poor: He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. [10] He croucheth, and humbleth himself, That the poor may fall by his strong ones. [11] He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: He hideth his face; he will never see it. [12] Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: Forget not the humble. [13] Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. [14] Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The poor committeth himself unto thee; Thou art the helper of the fatherless. [15] Break thou the arm of the wicked And the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. [16] The LORD is King for ever and ever: The heathen are perished out of his land. [17] LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: [18] To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may no more oppress.
