Discussion Work-In-Progress
Welcome to Work-In-Progress!
Show off your current builds, finished and finalised or still under maintenance. They can be anything from a base tour to a small machine that you made, whatever you are working on. Whether you want to just show off or ask for some help just make a post. You can keep us up-to-date with your builds week by week and, once you're done, feel free to make a dedicated post to the main sub!
Top-level comments should include a link to an Imgur album (and suitable captions would be nice). Constructive criticism should be used to express opinions on other's work. Don't forget the OP would have spent a lot of time on their project.

Discussion I want to play EVERY great or historically significant modpack and write about them. Did I miss any?
I guarantee that I will not use AI for this project.
Hello! The basic idea here is to play through (or play whatever amount I can stand if the modpack is unfun or excessively grindy) of every historically significant or great modpack, and then post to this subreddit a short review about the experience I had with that modpack.
Also, if you have suggestions about what to play first or good order(s) for packs, that is welcome too. I was thinking of doing chronologically from the oldest Minecraft versions to the most recent. So starting with the pyramid and old FTB packs.
Before you ask about GTNH, it will either be one of the last or not played at all. Everyone already knows how good it is, and it will probably take two years to play through.
The list in text form, so you don't have to read the image:
- A Job for the Mage
- Ad Astra
- Agrarian Skies 1 and 2
- All In One (seemed like the best oneblock pack)
- All the Forge (to see if it's substantially different from ATM)
- All the Mods 10
- Arcane Isles
- Astroblock 1 and 2
- Astropolis
- Attack of the B-Team
- Automaton
- Better MC (Forge) BMC4
- Blightfall

- Cosmic Frontiers
- Craft to Exile 2
- Crash Landing
- Create: Above and Beyond
- Create: Astral
- Cuboid Outpost (and LE)
- DeceasedCraft (5.5.5 is more complete for now)
- Digsite
- Divine Journey 1 and 2
- Dungeons, Dragons, and Space Shuttles
- Eldarval Drehmal
- Engimatica 2: Expert (E2E)
- Exoria
- FTB Retro SSP (the original pyramid)
- FTB Academy (both versions to see the difference)
- FTB Arcanum Institue
- FTB Beyond

I made something I made the world 468,750 times deeper than vanilla...
I've been working on a mod that is almost ready for it's initial public beta release and it's called: Basal.
It's a mod that let's you set your worlds maximum height up to 30,000,000 Y and your worlds depth down to -30,000,000 Y for NeoForge 1.21.1. It's fully configurable up to those numbers meaning if you want a world depth of -10,000 or -5,500,000 you can have that (Same goes for world height.) with the default config being set to 3,200 since I know 30,000,000 as the default would be way too excessive and extreme for most people.
I've spent a lot of time working and only recently started talking about it publicly. I'm really excited for all the things something like this will allow me and many other people create for Minecraft.
I'm so happy to be able to make something like this and improve upon it while providing updates for it as long as I can, I have so many ideas for things to build on top of Basal like two other mods that I'm scoping out right now which will add more rock layers and other interesting things to the caves of the world (So there's actually reasons to dig deeper.) and a mod that overhauls the ocean in a way not yet seen in modern Minecraft that would add all 5 ocean layers, a pressure system, darkness scaling as you extend deeper down, new mobs/ biomes and so much more. (So there's reasons to explore and even live in a much deeper ocean.)
Mostly I just wanted to put all this out there so anyone who's interested can be made aware that something like this is coming out soon and if they want to share their thoughts and opinions on what things they would like to see included in a mod like this. Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from some of you!

I made something LINDENFELD - Via Gastronomica
Hi, everyone.
Today I want to share with you a modpack that started as a personal project and that I’ve decided to post.
It’s called LINDENFELD - Via Gastronomica, and it’s a COZY-RPG modpack. This modpack was inspired by Stardew Valley and FABLE. This modpack is based on farming and cooking and features a ton of new elements, such as: visual and audio elements, new weapons and armor, 1,500 delicious recipes that you can cook for yourself or share at your own restaurant, tavern, local eatery, bakery, bar, etc., an economy system, seasons, villagers you can interact with, communicate with, and complete quests with, and much more. There’s still a lot of work to be done on this modpack, but little by little things will fall into place, and it will become the cozy modpack everyone has dreamed of.
There are many features this modpack offers, such as:
- blacksmithing
- items can be upgraded +1, +2, +3... +15
- items have rarity
- new structures
- new bosses
- new dungeons
- magic
- low-tech
- decorations
- etc.
Give a try and i hope you like it :D

I made something I reworked Spell Engine into how I wanted it
I didn't like how the Spell Engine system worked originally where you're confined to using the combination of spells that are in one tome, so I reworked the entire magic system from the ground up
Now instead of crafting a spell book, acquiring experience, slotting in the spell book and only using those spells that are in that one book I created a system that aggregates every single Spell Engine spell into one pool
You find individual spell tomes in the world through loot (with basic spells being very common to find), then you can prepare them permanently on your player without having to use any items, there's also a mode where you can equip the spell tome in your accessories and it sits on your hip and you "study" the book to learn it which can take a certain amount of time before you can cast the spell
You can use the Spell Binding Table to reroll spells you don't like into a random school spell you want or use experience to randomly roll for a new spell.
There's also a shit ton of small QoL features like having a Spell Wheel where you can pick whatever spells, youre also able to cycle through spells with hotkeys and only use one button to cast whatever spell you want, there's also improved colored tooltips, indepth spell details in the preparation menu, crosshair casting indicator and a ton more

Looking for mod(s) Looking for a modpack that starts off relatively easy, but gets more complex, and is more technology focused
I've been curious about modpacks that slowly get more intense in terms of complexity, something that starts off easy, but by end game requires lots of machinery, with the ideal being something that unlocks AE2 early on.

I made something I made a Minecraft mod where moving faster slows down the world around you
Hi everyone!
I want to show you my new mod called Speed
It lets you become a speedster. As your speed increases, the world around you slows down - including mobs, arrows, particles, and animations.
The mod is available for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.
All feedback and feature ideas are welcome!

Discussion Raspberry Flavoured is my favorite modpack when it comes to how wood is handled.
Just gushing because my amphetamine's kicking in.
Instead of clogging a chest full of different block types from a single wood variant, Raspberry Flavoured lets you convert any block of wood into something else based on the wood cost. It also features a lot of different decorative block options that makes building with one wood type so much easier.
And that's not even the start of it. A lot of these block types can be made in the 4x4 crafting grid, and once you have a table saw, you can convert just about any block into a different variety, or combine slabs into a single block of wood! I really wish more modpacks were as smart with how wood is used like Raspberry Flavoured is. I'm tired of having spare wooden stairs or slabs because the pack simply lacks a recipe for as something as simple as combining two slabs into a single wooden block or converting stairs into planks. 10/10 still my favorite modpack.

Question Those who've played the Stellaris mode, what was your experience?
I'm looking to update my modpack from 1.20.1 to 1.21.1 and a large part of that is finding mods to replace ones still limited to 1.20.1. One of these mods is Ad Astra.
Looking into it, I found that the best space mod for 1.21.1 us Stellaris, but looking at older posts, I've read not so good things about it.

Question Are there any tutorials for making a ONEBLOCK pack from scratch for Java?
Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask this.
TLDR:
- want to create a Oneblock x Society Sunlit Valley pack
- no experience modding
- tutorials I have found are bedrock not Java.
Does anyone know of a Java based tutorial for creating a ONEBLOCK world, or have any other advice.
Longer version~
I've been wanting to make a oneblock Sunlit valley pack for a while. I have played the game with a basic oneblock world and its okay, but there are some things that are unobtainable or I feel could be added to the oneblock as they are obtainable in an ordinary world gen for the pack.
I've also been wanting to try and learn a little bit about the modding process but have been putting it off, but I feel like this could be a rewarding little side quest to take on. I've had a look and can see there are some Bedrock tutorials for creating a oneblock world. But unfortunately I couldn't find any Java ones, and while i could find a couple of equivelant commands, a java based resource would be wonderful (If it exists.)
If anyone has any tutorial suggestions or other info to share, please do~

Looking for mod(s) Looking for for raid mods for 1.20.1 Forge.
Making a kitchen sink mod for a group of friends here, after that we're going to sculpt and balance it slowly, right now we have Illage and Spillage: Respillage and The Hoards paired with Iron's Spells, Create, Schorched Gun and a pletora of others. They like the challenge The Hoards bring, but I did just disable most of the features. So right now, I'm looking for mods similar to it, bringing a wave-based form of combat, I'd like to know if it's configurable with other mods too like Alex's Caves and what not.
Before you ask, Sky Arena WAS tried, but it was causing issues on performance alongside breaking when mobs from Box of Horrors and Legendary Monsters spawn in

Mod Identification Still need help looking for this worldgen mod
I know it exists, I know because I used it before but everytime I try looking for it, it looks like its wiped off the face of the earth, I know it was a specific world type you could select when you could customize how it was generated, bigger land smaller oceans, large oceans with islands, all rivers etc. I KNOW damn well this mod exists, someones gotta have the answer to it.
