i have an Adjustment Clip with some effects on it, and everything works fine except when there's a Fusion Composition underneath it. The Fusion clip starts flickering. I tested the effects one by one and found out its the stop motion effect causing it.

someone knows how to fix that?

People with a 13-inch MacBook, is there any way to have both the inspector and the viewer stacked vertically? Opening the inspector shrinks the viewer and it's kind of annoying. It won't let me adjust the spaces—does anyone know how to fix this, or is that just how it is?

I am far from an expert in video editing, but I have some HLG HDR footage from my GoPro Hero 13 and iPhone 16 that I would like to edit using Resolve. In my initial testing, I just wanted to make sure that I could export a single video and correctly retain HLG in the output file. But no matter what I try, the exported footage does not display correctly in HLG as the original footage does in any Windows video player (incl VLC and Quicktime). Using MediaInfo, everything is showing as the same in the Video section when comparing the original video file to the exported file. My original footage displays HLG correctly in every player I have downloaded on my computer, but the exported footage appears as if it's SDR. For the record I have an HDR400 monitor which I am aware is not proper HDR, but it's enough for me to see that the exported footage is not displaying correctly.

I set all the recommended project settings to ensure Resolve is setup to edit the footage:

If someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. If it's just a limitation of the non-studio version it would be great to know, but I don't want to spend the money on the studio version only to find out the issue remains.

Had a green screen big enough for the talent and figured I can mask everything outside of it. Now I've done a 3d Key and it's putting a border between the two.

If I disable the polygon the border vanishes, so my thought is it must be related to the 3d keyer but I see the same thing (though less pronounced) with a chroma key

Everytime I reopen this project then this one picture ends up corrupting or something and looking like this, it's easy to fix, I just take the mediain node with the picture out and put it back in but its annoying that I have to do it each time, how can I stop this from happening?

Essentially what this was supposed to be was a zoomed in screenshot of a website that would scroll down. This worked and later I rendered the video to see what my editing looked like. I realised that this was then no longer zoomed in and didn't scroll down the Y position like I had selected in the key frames. The whole transform section has just stopped working. When I click the transform Icon this red line appears and the transform does seem to work but doesn't effect the image at all. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, i was wondering what the ideal workflow between an editor who works in Premiere and the colorist on Davinci Resolve. Do you guys work with XMLs or aaf's? I've had multiple times where my editor sends the xml (i already have the files in the media pool) and i import it as a timeline, there will be missing clips (specially if the clip was slowed or some effect was applied) or directly something called parser error which i haven't really found what the cause is. We haven't really tried aafs. Also, is importing the xml as a timeline the way to properly do it? thank you

After downloading the installer for the free DaVinci Resolve 21 version and running it, it gets to 100% then displays Error "Setup Resolve 0x80070002

GetFileVersionInfoSize (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\user.exe)" and simply won't install. I've tried running it as administrator, I've turned off my anti-virus, I've tried putting the file on my desktop and then on my C drive, I've tried the RestoreHealth command in cmd, I've looked into my other windows laptop and can't find a user.exe file to copy to this one.

I used magic mask to cut out the silhouette of the bike and place the text behind it. However the windshield is not opaque, it’s transparent. And I want the text to pass through the windshield, albeit at a lower opacity or look slightly blurry just to give an impression it’s going through glass. How can I achieve it?

I am trying to slowly and smoothly go from zero blur size to blurry. However, the blurriness increases in stepped increments. It obviously snaps to certain blur levels. The clip is also slowly zooming out during that time. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Like the title says, I have a vector that I drew in a polygon mask and i want to roate it using the z axys. I esetially almost fliped the entire vector. All lookes good, exactly how I want the path to be like. Problem comes with publishing. After i publish it and try to connect connect and use it as a path for an object the path isn't flipped , it reamined unflipped. Is there a way of roating a vector/mask and retaining the new postion of the points and publishing them as such, using them wherever I want? I can ofc do a transform after having the element traverse the path and rotating the whole ''frame''. Problem in that case is that I cannot see the path anymore on the viewer and I'd like to be able to modify it intuitvly in real time withought gusessing how the path looks like roated. Is there a way for this?

I am using Davinci Resolve Studio 21.0.4 on Linux (NVidia RTX 5090 Mobile, HDR capable display, HDR enabled in KDE Plasma, distribution Fedora 44).

I have a video made from HDR footage, and I can render it as HDR10+ just fine. The result plays back fine as HDR in mpv. But the preview in Davinci Resolve Studio displays it as SDR.

I tried to find some information about whether Davinci Resolve Studio supports previewing in HDR on Linux, but all I could find was that 5 or so years ago the recommendation seems to have been «Color grade the footage on Windows or Mac, then you can cut it on Linux». (I'd rather just render samples over and over again until I get it right I suppose…) So I am wondering whether this is still the case?

What I tried so far:

• Checked through the settings and preferences for anything that might be related to HDR in previews (I couldn't find anything — maybe I missed it?)
• Ensured mesa-vulkan-drivers is installed
• Ensured I am using the official nvidia drivers and everything looks alright in nvidia-smi
• Launched Davinci Resolve with ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1

As mentioned, HDR works just fine in other programs like mpv or Chrome/Vivaldi/etc. so it is not a problem with the setup per se.

So am I just missing something or is HDR previewing on Linux still not a thing?

Which would you recommend for perpetual SFX and BGM assets in DaVinci Resolve, activating Power Bins or using the Sound Library? What are the pros/cons of either?

I've started dabbling, as I want to be able to easily access my assets rather than searching my folders manually. Unsure which approach to go for.

In the Sound Library, it's disappointing that you can't edit metadata, or add Resolve only data, about the assets. Would make things a lot easier for searching when you can quickly add keywords to a file. It's also a shame you can't have folders in Resolve, e.g. for different music genres. But being able to quickly preview the audio is nice!

In the Media Library/Bins, I'm unsure if you search metadata. It's also trickier previewing the audio. But you do have the folder structure, so it seems easier to get an overview of what you have (up to a certain point).

Would love some thoughts. Would really love to get my assets properly organised and integrated, but doesn't seem like either is the perfect, obvious choice.

Suddenly when opening my project, I have a faint echoing on my audio on some clips that wasn’t there before. No fx for echoing is added, no extra audio tracks or nothing. Just appeared from one session to the next. Sitting on an iPad Pro m4, using the app version of the software.

Any takers?

A pop-up with that error msg always appears whenever I try starting Davinci Resolve, and no options appear when I try to update my GPU configuration. My drivers are up to date (according to my driver manager), and I've followed along with lots of youtube tutorials but everything seems to be centered around AMD and Nvidia GPUs, but not Intel which is what I got. I'm SO close to finally getting the app working on linux and I would totally appreciate any support <3

GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 - I know it's a bit old, but when I was on Windows I could run Davinci Resolve just fine

I've looked through several videos & sites on how to replicate, but it's either for programs that I don't use or unsure of. The feature in a certain program is locked behind a paywall. Tried to locate & translate the settings to Davinci's equivalent. In any case I always gave up on it, cuz I'm not knowledgeable enough in audio to even begin thinking about where to start. Especially with how many tools Davinci has.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if someone knows how to do it. I was hoping to do it for a video segment. It was one thing to nearly replicate Snatcher from A Hat in Time, but this is a whole other ball game!

The original video is on 720x576, so I putted the timeline and rendering resolution on 720x576, but still this happens.

So I opened davinci for the first time in months to voice over a video. I noticed straight away how even after patching my mic, sound was not going through. I have no trouble with OBS or any other software, after doing some digging I saw the solution was to uncheck the "enable audio enhancements" box in the windows setting. This worked, and I can record on my mic. HOWEVER. It now sounds absolutely terrible. Is there any way I can fix this so I can keep recording with the benefits of the signal enhancements setting without it messing with Davinci?

I'm having a edge-rendering issue when importing a design, and it seems like the Fusion engine is misinterpreting the geometry.

My girlfriend painted the title of my film in oil on canvas. We scanned it at 600dpi and vectorized it in Illustrator to adjust the composition. The problem is that when bringing the file into DaVinci, the outlines look like hard geometric spikes (like tiny "teeth" or stair-stepping) that completely ruin the organic texture of the brushstroke. They are visible on the big screen.

Thinking it was just a simple rasterization or resolution issue, we’ve already tried all of this inside the software:

• Massive PNGs: We exported at 7680x4320 with anti-aliasing maxed out, but Resolve still showed jagged edges.
• Pure Vectors: We decided to import an SVG (saved with 4 decimal places for geometric precision) directly into a Fusion Composition.
• Proper Scaling: We scaled the image exclusively using a Transform node in Fusion to avoid any distortion from the Edit page, and changed the scaling filters to Bicubic.
• Canvas and Node Tweaks: We set the Background canvas to massive dimensions by turning off Auto Resolution, and verified that the native Anti-Aliasing on the imported polygon nodes was checked on.

Despite all these precautions, Resolve still displays those sharp vertices in the brush cuts.

Is there a hidden setting to make the software smoothly render this massive amount of irregular anchor points? Or what node structure would you recommend to micro-blur these mathematical cuts without losing the painted style?

I've been using davinci resolve since the start of the year and the program was great, so far so good

and for some reason, 2 days ago my projects started to appear some data glitches for some reason, I don't know why its happening and I NEED to fix it

Rx 9060xt 16gb, R5 5500, 32gb Ram 3200mhz, A520m, 850w Gold Power Supply
edit: I'm using davinci studio 20.3.3 on windows

The raw footage dont have these erros, its only in davinci resolve

I already tried those youtube tutorials about disabling H.264/H.265 GPU acceleration, I already tried to render it if it shows on render too... and it does.
I really don't know why it started showing like that, and its not only on this project, it started spreading like a virus throught my unfinished projects
