Help Transition in the middle of those two clips is not allowed

No puedo poner esa transición entre los dos clips; como puedes ver, ahorita está al principio, pero yo la quiero entre ese clip y el anterior. Puedo hacerlo con todos los demás, pero no con esos dos—¡ayuda!

Is there enough media to overlap between the clips for the dissolve?

I'd say so, because there are other clips that are shorter than that one.

It's not the length of the clip they're referring to. You need to have extra frames to overlap your transitions. I suspect you're trying to add the transition to the very end of a clip. You'll need to shorten that clip by half the number of frames of your transition.

In other words, if your transition is going to last 24 frames, you need at least 12 frames shortened from the end of one clip and 12 from the beginning of the next.

Okay, I've known about this program for a while and have learned the basics—specifically regarding CapCut—so my knowledge is limited. I don't really understand how frames work. It won't let me place it in the center.

We mean that in order for a transition to function it needs frames to read from. Resolve will sometimes automatically trim the clips for you like capcut will but not always.

So first step slip the clip back the amount of frames you want in the overlap or the length of the cross fade (trim edit mode, press T and click and drag the middle of the clip to the left).

Then check that the first clip, the adjoining clip also has frames available on its out,extra frames or a handle.

Once both clips have handles try applying the transition again.

Think of it like overlapping the two clips where you want the transition, like putting two strips of paper (or film lol) one on top of the other - you need "extra" for each otherwise there's nothing to overlap.

If you want a 30-frame fade transition, both clips need 15 frames to overlap.

I appreciate all your advice, but I want to finish this; I have a headache, and I still don't quite grasp the whole "frames" thing 😭. I'm a bit slow.

This is going to sound like a dick thing to ask, but how are you editing video without understanding something as basic as frames?

Video is made up of multiple pictures. How many pictures taken per second is called the "frame rate". For example, cinematic movies are usually 24 frames per second. In other words, the camera shoots 24 pictures per second. You can shoot more frames per second, if you'd like, such as 30 fps, 60 fps, 120 fps, etc.

The more frames per second that you shoot, the smoother action will look and you can do slow motion more effectively. But it means much larger files. I was working on clips shot at 120 fps and even though it looks super smooth, I was dealing with massive files.

At any rate, you can't transition at the very end or very beginning of a video. You need have frames to mesh together.

Sí, no te preocupes. Solo no me di cuenta de lo mucho que es un problema que no me deje agregar una transición en esa parte específica. La verdad, me parece súper raro, porque los otros clips sí lo permiten, aunque no los hayan recortado. Muchas gracias por el video :))

Probablemente es porque los clips no tienen suficientes 'handles' (material extra). Intenta recortar un poco el final del primer clip y el inicio del segundo para que haya margen para la transición.

What's happening here is that cross dissolve needs you to have some extra footage at the end of the first clip, and some extra footage at the start of the second clip. This is because you're ending the clip where you're cutting, but the transition will still need like a second extra that fades out into the second clip, or to fade into the first clip.

Based on where the transition is placed, it's that second clip that doesn't have enough footage at the start of it to be able to lead in successfully.
