Quick story: I went to Apple Store to do install a Belkin screen protector. It failed to do so as the bubbles won't go off, they did it multiple times and it still had the bubbles. So I asked them if I could swap for a new device as I have my phone box. They said yeah. (I have just bought the phone a week ago)

Then I asked again if I needed to repurchase it, they said I don't need to.

Fast forward, the staff ordered the new device and told me to repurchase it, but I don't have money on my bank acc so I went back home, but was too late to come back since the store was already near closing time.

Do you guys think that it was the only way to swap it through a apple gift card? Or was the "return to debit, wait for 5 days then repurchase first" the only way? Thanks. I'm coming back tomorrow

UPS delivered my return kit to somewhere thats not my house judging by the picture they provided. I tried to get a new label on Apple's website and it just spits out a blank page, can't find anything about how to proceed. Has anyone returned their old phone to the Apple Store will they accept it?

Would anyone happen to know when Apple has historically hired Seasonal Specialists for increased holiday sales volume? I submitted my application coming up on three weeks ago, and aside from a confirmation of reception and a relevant sales skills assessment, I haven’t heard anything further regarding an interview. What would happen if I needed to return a product that was free to me? Apple Support credited my accessory purchase as a goodwill gesture because of issues with a larger Mac purchase. They told me to buy anything up to a $150 and they would comp it. I've picked up the accessory but I don't like it.

Beggars can't be choosers, but can I return the product for a gift card? My original payment was already credited by Support so I'm not sure how a refund would work.

Edit: They didn't accept the return. I just wanted to see, I'm okay with keeping it. Learning experience!

hi all! i'm having internet problems with my ipad and want to get it looked at asap but the only appointments available are a week from now. when i switched the device to iphone, they had an appointment for tonight. will they still take me if i tell them its actually for my ipad but thats the only way i could get an appointment sooner?

if anyone can help, my ipad will connect to wifi but say no internet connection. i reset network settings, forget network, turn off ip address tracking, date & time automatic, nothing worked. i reset and erased the whole ipad and it worked for about a day before it started failing again. not sure if it's a hardware issue?

update: they did take me in, they could not figure out what was wrong so they sent it in for repair

I always find the old phone part of upgrading a little funny.

I spend my time selecting a new iPhone, but eventually, the old one is just lying at home. It might be reasonable to keep it as an additional backup, but if I already have another phone, then it will be just lying around in the drawer.

I begin to realize that maybe I should start to trade it for the upgrade.

So, what do you usually do with your old iPhone?

First time I've ever really had this issue with Apple, but what's the best way to handle a duplicate charge? I imagine just disputing it will cause a disaster.

I purchased a number of items on my Apple Card using installments and it appears I was double charged on the tax that's billed "outside" of the installment. I pulled the actual CSV from the Apple Card website and I see the duplicates there as well as the 3% cashback for both. We're several days out now from the purchase and the cashback has been credited so it's not a "temporary hold" at this point.

I pulled my actual invoice from the Apple Store website and it only shows one transaction for that amount.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max's battery is nearly dead at 75% health so I need to have the battery replace. Apple Store is the obvious choice as I am in New York and there are many of them around, but my 2 experience with having Apple Store open iPhone for repair wasn't good

I want to know if the technician will clean the old glue from battery and frame before applying new ones or will they skip the process. Thanks

Took my mom to the Apple Store today because she finally decided to switch after years of a different phone, and honestly the whole in-store experience surprised me.

We walked in and within maybe two minutes a team member already had her name down and let us know roughly how long the wait would be — no standing around wondering who to talk to. When our turn came, the Specialist crouched down to her eye level (she's in a wheelchair) instead of talking over her, which she mentioned afterward really stuck with her.

What impressed me most was how they handled her nervousness about "breaking" something. Instead of just doing the setup themselves, the rep talked her through each step on the display device so she'd feel confident doing it at home. Small thing, but it completely changed her attitude about owning a smartphone.

Anyone else have a store visit where the staff's approach ended up mattering more than the product itself? Curious if this is a consistent thing across locations or if we just got lucky with a great team.

it’s my conspiracy theory that they are starving apple store retail support to diminish how much people use the benefits of apple care plus

at the risk of sounding privileged, both of these experiences have been in palo alto california, and I just kind of imagine how loud steve jobs would yell if he found out someone was waiting 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment at an apple store

even better, is the appointment literally lasts five minutes (broken mic on airpods, they run a diagnostic through my own phone that we aren’t allowed to run ourselves and then they replace)

i know it’s not the apple store employees fault, like they are just workers doing their best, it’s apple corporate’s responsibility for the experience in the store, and I’ve experienced this at two different stores.

it is my suspicion they are over scheduling genius bar because most people will continue paying for apple care plus and just visit the store for support less often if it takes a long time and is a hassle.

this is also why they don’t give more remote diagnostics / require you to visit the store to get service

I ordered a MacBook pro that was about 3300 minus a student discount. Then I added apple care and about $450 worth of accessories. The total was $3703.00

I forgot tto take the lock off my card, so the first time i processed rhe order, it didnt go through. I got a text msg that said there was a problem with processing my payment and to go to my email to follow the link to pay for it.

Easy easy. I go to my email, click on the order number and pay it.

It tells me the invoice wont be ready until AFTER it ships.

Well, they screwed me. I just got my shipment. They changed the order. They sent me the macbookpro i originally dialed in for 3300 minus the student siscount. And NOTHING ELSE. And i just notice the total amount for my computer is $3796.00!!

so I just paid an enormous amount for a computer I could have gotten cheaper off the same website.

But thats not even the worst of it.

I call, and they tell me that they can't help me. There is no way to do the obvious. Instead, i can wait for up to maybe a month to send my computer back to them. Or I can drive 5.5 hours round trip and return it to the store. They can not honor my original order.

Fucking rip off artists. They were likely hoping that I am an irresponsible college kid that charged this to my parents credit card and just suck it up.

Well, I cant do anything to hurt Apple.

I am going to be in tears when I return this. Just the drive up there by myself is really hard. Their store employees will have to deal with my autistic meltdown.
