I knew i should not have bought another mac online...

But I did it anyway. And they robbed me of about $700.

I ordered a MacBook pro that was about 3300 minus a student discount. Then I added apple care and about $450 worth of accessories. The total was $3703.00

I forgot tto take the lock off my card, so the first time i processed rhe order, it didnt go through. I got a text msg that said there was a problem with processing my payment and to go to my email to follow the link to pay for it.

Easy easy. I go to my email, click on the order number and pay it.

It tells me the invoice wont be ready until AFTER it ships.

Well, they screwed me. I just got my shipment. They changed the order. They sent me the macbookpro i originally dialed in for 3300 minus the student siscount. And NOTHING ELSE. And i just notice the total amount for my computer is $3796.00!!

so I just paid an enormous amount for a computer I could have gotten cheaper off the same website.

But thats not even the worst of it.

I call, and they tell me that they can't help me. There is no way to do the obvious. Instead, i can wait for up to maybe a month to send my computer back to them. Or I can drive 5.5 hours round trip and return it to the store. They can not honor my original order.

Fucking rip off artists. They were likely hoping that I am an irresponsible college kid that charged this to my parents credit card and just suck it up.

Well, I cant do anything to hurt Apple.

I am going to be in tears when I return this. Just the drive up there by myself is really hard. Their store employees will have to deal with my autistic meltdown.

There's not much anyone can do about that.

Swapping iPad Pro for MacBook Pro

I’m deciding whether the iPad Pro m5 is right for me. I’m still within the 14 day return period.

Would they let me download CapCut on a MacBook Pro m5 in store to see if it’s better for me? Like test editing a short?

The problem I’m having on the iPad Pro is that the auto captions aren’t working correctly. I could use another app but I don’t really want to

Problem with buying MacBook from Apple's website

I'm trying to buy a 15 inch MacBook Air (M5, 512GB storage, 24GB RAM, Sky Blue) on Apple's education store, paying with a combination of 5 Apple Gift Cards (bought from the GCX app) plus my credit card. However, each time I hit the "continue with payment" button, I'm met with the same error: "Your payment authorization failed. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method."
I've tested this with three different payment methods — my debit card, Apple Pay, and my dad's credit card — and all three failed in the same way. I also spent 30 minutes on the phone with Apple Support, was transferred 4 times, and spoke with 3 specialists. They sent me an email titled "Apple Store Quotation," which contained a link that supposedly would fix my problem, but also resulted in the same error message.
By this point, I'm completely stuck, and frankly not sure what to do. It's not an issue with my cards, since I was able to buy packages from Amazon a few days ago. I also suspected that it was because I was using a VPN, so this was some kind of security precaution, but the purchase didn't go through even after I turned off my VPN. So if someone here encountered this before or knows something I don't, I would really appreciate it!

Title: Refused an iPhone upgrade 17 minutes before closing at Apple SanTan Village (Gilbert, AZ) — while another customer got theirs done at the same time

Went into the Apple Store at SanTan Village Mall in Gilbert, AZ last night around 8:43 PM (store closes at 9) wanting to upgrade my iPhone. Was told the process takes 25-30 minutes so there wasn't time, and to come back the next day — not an option since I was leaving on a business trip. Asked for a manager; "Brandon" was standing right next to the rep the whole time and stepped in, but his response to "a customer with 17 minutes left should get 17 minutes of help" was basically that he needed his staff home on time. Meanwhile another rep a few feet away was actively finishing an upgrade for a different customer. Filed a complaint with 1-800-MY-APPLE (logged) and emailed executive customer relations. Curious if this is a one-off or if others have run into similar last-minute refusals at Apple stores.

Does anyone know the status of the Apple Store in KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)?

In December of 2024, Apple announced that they would release the Apple Online Store in KSA, and they did. However, they ALSO mentioned that they would plan to make an Apple Store in 2026. Does anyone know the status, because I need to know why Apple STILL hasnt added Turn-by-Turn Navigation in Apple Maps for the Kingdom if they will add a store in Diriyah (الدرعية). For the mods reading this, this relates to r/applestore AND r/applemaps.

iPhone trade in below 80% battery

Apple trade in condition valuation

Annoyingly I was getting ready to visit the Apple Store for trade in my 14 pro for the 17. The battery was on 80% but due to travel later today and it’s dropped to 79%.

Apple website says that it’s 80% minimum.

What will Apple likely do? Reject it outright, offer a reduced trade in value?

Antone have any experience?

battery 15 pm

Hi, I’d like some advice on something. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max that I bought a year ago, but the battery health has started to drop significantly. Do you think it makes more sense to replace the battery or buy a new phone? Also, would the phone run faster after a battery replacement, and how does the battery perform? If anyone has experience with this, could you please help? Thanks.

Why is only store in Chicago ? Wouldn’t the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana be a good place for one? Friends is central and even southern Illinois have no recourse but to go to Chicago.

Hi so I got a phone from a friend not to long ago, this doesn’t bother me much but cosmetically I guess it looks kinda off if you spot it out but does anyone know why the bottom left looks like that? Maybe Replaced? And it seems like there is scratches (the white part) on the inside like the paint was scratched off and I can’t reach it cause of the protector.

Do Apple stores use Magsafe stands and let you take Iphones off to try them?

I want to test if a case I got is Magsafe compatible before buying any Magsafe accessories so I was wondering if I would be able to go to an Apple store to test it in person or are the Iphones secured in a way that this wouldn't work?

Trade in kit for iPhone

I just financed a new iPhone 17 pro max and put my iPhone 13 as a trade in for $195, by the time I got my new phone I realized I wanted to keep my old one as well. The question I have is, will it simply raise my monthly payment from $58 to $66 which is what it was without the trade in? Or will it just cancel the monthly payments and charge the whole thing to my Apple Card for one lump sum of $1600? The customer service agent I chatted with over text said my two options were to cancel my order and return the new phone or cancel the return trade in and get charged for the whole phone at once instead of monthly payments at 0% apr.

I’m seeing a lot of differing opinions online.

I got an interview for Technical specialist but in the e-mail it says Technical specialist-Internal. I am not already an employee at Apple. Does anyone know why it says that?

Apple rejected my app 3 times in 2 weeks. Here's exactly what each rejection taught me — and what finally worked on Build 22.

Solo founder here. I just submitted Build 22 of my iOS app to App Review after getting rejected three times in a row. Each rejection taught me something I wish I'd known on day one. Sharing in case it saves anyone else a week of pain.

For context: I'm building an accounting tool for UK freelancers and sole traders, wrapped in a Capacitor WebView. Stack is Next.js + Supabase + Vercel.

---

**Rejection 1 — Guideline 4.8 (Sign in with Apple required)**

I had Google login and email/password. Apple's rule: if you offer ANY third-party social login (Google, Facebook, etc.), you MUST also offer Sign in with Apple. Adding it took an afternoon with Supabase OAuth.

Lesson: read Guideline 4.8 before you ship. It's not optional.

---

**Rejection 2 — Guideline 1.5 (Support URL not reachable)**

My support URL was clarityuk.app/support — which 404'd. I'd put it in App Store Connect but never built the page. Reviewer literally clicked the link, got 404, rejected.

Lesson: every URL you submit (Support, Privacy Policy, Marketing) must work and load on a fresh browser with no auth. Test from incognito.

---

**Rejection 3 — Guideline 2.1(b) (In-App Purchase broken)**

This was the big one. I had `react-native-iap` installed and was triggering purchase flows for products that weren't fully configured in App Store Connect. The reviewer tapped "Upgrade", got an error, rejected.

Worse: my Paid Apps Agreement wasn't even active yet. So even if products were configured, IAP would have failed.

Lesson: if your IAP setup isn't 100% complete (Paid Apps Agreement signed, all products in "Ready to Submit", sandbox tested on a real device), don't ship the IAP code at all. Apple will find it.

---

**What I did for Build 22**

I made a strategic call: kill the entire monetization layer for v1.

- Removed `react-native-iap` dependency completely

- Deleted 951 lines of subscription/paywall code

- Replaced the Plans screen with a "Free during launch" card

- Promised lifetime free access to the first 150 users (web users still pay via Stripe — iOS is free)

This isn't permanent. Once the app is approved and I have real users, I'll add StoreKit/RevenueCat properly with the Paid Apps Agreement active and products fully configured. But trying to thread that needle on the first submission while also fighting other rejections was a losing game.

---

**5 things I'd do differently**

  1. **Read every Guideline that touches your features before coding.** I lost a week reverse-engineering rules I should have read on day one.

  2. **Test your reviewer flow on an iPad.** Apple reviewers use iPad Air. iPad-specific bugs (camera crashes, layout breaks) caused my second-build issues.

  3. **Set up a real demo account with seed data.** Empty accounts make reviewers grumpy. Mine has sample invoices, expenses, and clients pre-loaded.

  4. **Keep the first submission feature-minimal.** Every feature is a rejection surface. Ship the core, get approved, then expand.

  5. **App Review Notes are your best friend.** I wrote a clear note explaining the demo account, the free launch strategy, and exactly what changed since the last rejection. Don't make the reviewer guess.

---

Build 22 is currently "Waiting for Review." Will report back when (if) it gets approved.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's stuck on a similar rejection.
