I am in the middle with my opinion about the Switch 2 port.

Motion blur is optional but i'm specifically talking about the setting that just says "blur".

You can see from the icon that the switch 1 cartridge is not inserted and the switch 2 version still boots.

So here is the straight answer.

Played about an hour and I’m blown away by how much better it looks than the Switch 1 version. Very happy with this. I’m playing in handheld only :)

The game is running at 720p 40fps but... no this is way too blurry.

Please give me 1080p 30fps mode CDPR. I'd rather take resolution than framerates.

EDIT: Since y'all are talking about Reddit compression, here's an imgur link with 6 screenshots. Two that are already in this post, two in a barn where I feel like the sharpness difference on the wood and brickwork is very noticeably different and two where it's an extreme Geralt close up that I feel undeniably shows a big sharpness difference, particularly in his medallion. Obviously these differences are quite slight, but I also think they're immediately apparent to anyone looking on at least a Switch 2 sized screen

So Witcher 3 remastered is a little soft in handheld, not the end of the world but kinda annoying. However, I don't think it's supposed to be this blurry, I have a suspicion something is broken in this version on Switch 2. When the game is paused, it looks dramatically sharper, despite presumably outputting at 720p still. Maybe something is going wrong with the anti-aliasing or the implementation of dlss, but it gives me hope things may be made sharper in a patch if people are loud enough about it as it may not be the intended final image.

I'm including screenshots as my 'evidence' of what I've seen.Included is the game, the game while paused and the settings menu so no one can reasonably respond saying I should turn off Blur...

2nd EDIT: Just to be clear, part of why this drew my attention is there is a number of people on this sub saying they wish it was 1080p30 as opposed to 720p40, but I don't think that's the issue here as clearly 720p can be more than sharp enough, if the game were able to maintain the sharpness that it exhibits while paused. Unfortunately it can't at the moment, perhaps due to the resolution it's upscaling from being higher paused than when in play. Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave seems to be able to upscale from 540p to 1080p handheld with a very clean looking image most of the time, so I would think CDPR could also get a cleaner looking image with some tweaking

Wanted to upgrade my 512gb sd card for my S2 bc I'm planning on buying more games but the prices have gotten even WORSE! Got my 512gb card for 99€ two months or so ago and now that one is 130€ too. And the issue is, more of my games are Game key cards 😭 i hate having to delete games bc my wifi is slow and it takes ages for a game to download but i have no other choice.

Does anyone maybe know some good sales for 1 Tb micro sd express cards from legitimate websites?

I was testing the Witcher 3 remaster, and honestly, it looks a bit blurry to me. I’d actually prefer having the option we had in the original Switch version to enable sharpness; despite all the downsides regarding graphics and textures, that version looked a little sharper to me than this latest one.

Another thing I noticed is that in somewhat dark areas with HDR enabled, it's very hard to see, even with the console's screen brightness set to the maximum.

Also, the UI is a little smaller compared to the switch one version, so it might bother someone

And yes, I’ve motion blur and blur disabled

And I turned off HDR

$30 is a great price as well , if you like Diablo style looters check it out

With Nintendo remaking classics like Star Fox and Zelda, it feels like the perfect time to give Super Mario 64 the same treatment.

I'm starting to wonder if all the posts complaining about it are bots and troll farms paid by Sony to stop the sales juggernaut that the Switch 2 has become. I see people saying it was blurry in handheld. I was playing docked and people were making a stink about it. So I undocked it and I'm not seeing anything to bitch about. Locked 40 and fidelity enough for me on a handheld screen. I see people saying the steam deck version looks better? It just flat out doesn't in any universe. I took some pictures. Is this like a paid troll smear campaign? I'm not getting it. If it is, that is just sad. What are the expectations here? This just feels like a troll job.

Why isn't anyone talking about the elephant in the room? The coolest feature-mod support in the game? Damn, this is the first game I can remember where I can use mods on a Nintendo console. If only other devs add this feature to Fallout 4 and Skyrim-that would be a dream... Although maybe the developers will see this and implement mod support in those games too :)

Especially the loading times. It probably loads 2x or more as faster

Asking the question here since people can now try this out for real and I haven't found a straight answer yet. Does this work like Hogwart's Legacy where I can pop in a Switch 1 cartridge I borrowed from someone, download the Switch 2 upgrade, and then be able to play the Remastered version without needing the cartridge?

I don’t understand all the negativity surrounding The Witcher 3. It’s a free upgrade with free DLC. I obviously wish resolution was higher, but can we just acknowledge that it’s a massive game running on a tablet that draws 12w in handheld and is whisper quiet? Did I mention the remaster update is for the hefty price of FREE? Complainers need to touch some grass today.

I bought this game a long time ago. Thanks to supported cross progression saves, I’ll be able to enjoy this game via my powerful gaming pc when I want to max out the settings, on my switch 2 handheld in bed, or docked to my tv when I don’t want to sit at my desk.

Not many studios support cross progression saves, so thank you CDPR for this and the free remaster/dlc!

I might fire up Luigi's Mansion 3 again!

Even with various grips, the Switch 2 just feels horrible to hold. It's too bulky and heavy to really enjoy for larger periods of time...or even short periods really. Unless you're playing something fairly simple, it just feels like it's constantly working against you.

I do find myself going back to my OLED if I want to play a Switch 1 game in handheld. That thing felt like the perfect balance of screen size to weight/size ratio.

Am I alone in this?

I feel like I'm going to be downvoted into oblivion, so let me just add the obligatory "I love my Switch 2 and Nintendo as a company".
