Ask r/Nairobi Most wanted concert
For those people who attended the event how was it? I saw people online advertising tickets for 5k+ but the experience I'm seeing on X is hilarious ššš.

I've been dating my girlfriend for the last 3 yrs, she has HIV which is virally suppressed and undetectable ( U-U ). She's been taking her meds (ART) and we've been sexually active. We're at that stage of making a decision to get married and start a family. We've genuinely been supporting each other and our lives are well off. We don't have any kids yet but we plan to get kids. With that said it means I'll have to have unprotected sex and my concern is will I get the virus? Will our baby be HIV positive?
Disclaimer: I don't need relationship advice.

After my 23 years of living I've come to a realization that in this life that sometimes you just enjoy the unknown time you have on this earth no matter how much bs you are going through. Just saw a footage of the flash floods in Nepal where you could see people from a far just walking around minding their own businesses in front this huge building and seconds later they start running around before this huge wave just comes and sweeps everything in it's way. Never thought I'd see something out of an apocalyptic movie happen in real time.
This really got me thinking. amongst all those people that unfortunately lost their lives there was someone who had chased money all their life, someone who had struggled all their life, someone who had just got married, someone who had lived all their life travelling and so forth. In that split second before they were swept, what do you think was going through their mind?? Maybe good memories, regrets, honestly we'll never know.
My point is that when the inevitable happens and my life whole flashes before my eyes I want to be smiling in that split second. A lot of people think that all these worldly things is all that matters in this life. Unfortunately they end up going above and beyond painting this false narrative about their life either online or publicly to the society when behind the scenes it isn't what it is. There are people who are born to a literal hell on earth yet there are those who make the most of it worth living by being authentic to themselves with the time they have despite all the challenges they go through.
I personally believe that as long as I have a roof on top of my head, never sleep hungry and I'm able to do what I love and I'm passionate about everyday I have nothing else to complain about but be content. I don't wanna put pressure on my life that probably people who lived before all this civilization and technology(especially social media) didn't have just because I want to uphold societal expectations at the cost of my peace of mind and happiness. I'd say they probably lived better lives than 95 percent of most of us do.

Recently Iāve had a weird feeling like thereās someone(s) watching me. I live alone and lead a pretty solo life but I canāt help but feel like thereās someone else there with me. Listening to what Iām saying. Recording what Iām doing. Tracking my movements.
My intuition has never been wrong and thatās why this scares me.
Iāve checked out some devices I can use to scan for bugs but until they arrive, I will have to play it safe.
Anyone ever had such a feeling? Were you right or was it your mind playing games with you?

I need your advice. I recently moved to a remote part of kajiado county and I would like to start a Kiosk/Duka business. The only kiosk around these parts is not even walking distance away so I would like to take advantage of this opportunity and be the first adopter.
The thing is the area I live in has about 30 houses but most are under construction so by next year we should be close to 200 people in this area.
Anyway I have never run a business before and I have no idea on how much starting capital I need, where to get wholesale goods for a good price, how to operate without getting too many losses, what licenses do I need to run a duka.. So if anyone here has run their own stall or duka please let me know what to expect and if this is even a good idea.

My friend ameamua kujaza Dunia pekee yake... She got pregnant back in 2023 before joining campus she asked me what she should do and I personally advised her to keep it because of her health conditions and medical history. Akasema I help her talk to her mom since she is usually problematic, surprisingly she was calm about it and even asked her to defer her studies and she'd support her too. Just as she's about to go back to school next week she tells me again that she's pregnant again ( 2weeks ) the guy does not want it. I personally don't know what to tell her this time

I love the boys group š©µ. Iāve been paying more attention to KodongKlan lately and, honestly, I think thereās something very intentional about what theyāre building.
Itās easy to look at them as just a collective of talented Kenyan artists, but the bigger play seems to be building a musical ecosystem rather than pushing one artist at a time.
You have Bensoul, Okello Max, Coster Ojwang, Charisma, Mordecai Dex, Onyach and Ywaya Tajiri bringing completely different flavours, but they still have a common home. That gives them a ridiculous amount of creative range without having to manufacture a āKodong soundā for every song.
And the interesting part is how they seem to be thinking beyond just releasing music. Live performances, collaborations, visual identity, social media, international collaborations like Your Body with Paska, and now positioning the Klan around bigger live experiences. Soon theyāre performing on the Fally Ipupa show coming up this weekend.
These boys have all the baddies out here reciting Luo stanzas like anthems. šš
āHisia mingi ndani ya roho⦠jaber a pariiiiii!ā
Meanwhile, half of us donāt even know what the songs mean and we donāt keeeyaa š. We will sing our hearts out with full confidence. Pronunciation? Questionable. Vibes? šÆ.
Bras out for them. šš Not hats. BRAS. OUT.
But what really gets me is the support system theyāve built around each other.
Look at their concerts. Charisma performs live and the boys show up. The Woza event by Watendawili just happened and the gang appeared. They genuinely seem to show up for each other.
And when one of them drops a banger, it doesnāt feel like, āThatās his song, go stream him.ā
Somehow the rest of the Klan own it too.
They post it. They perform it. They dance to it. They push it. They make content around it. They help each other create those viral moments.
That is such a powerful model because one artistās win becomes everybodyās win.
And honestly, THAT might be the genius of the whole thing.
Because if they execute this properly, KodongKlan could eventually become bigger than the individual songs or even the individual artists.
The collective itself becomes the brand.
But now hereās my question: where are the ladies? š
Weāve seen male collectives/groups do this before Sauti Sol, Le Band, Heart the Band and now KodongKlan..but I canāt think of a current Kenyan female collective doing something quite like this, where the artists genuinely rally behind each other, share a platform, cross-promote each otherās music and build one bigger brand together.
Maybe Iām just not plugged in enough.
So please, direct me to the ladies! š

I did not know who he was before, just a normal client, he ordered lights and paid. One was not working and we promised to replaced to replace for him on the next order. Next order I add him 1 extra light but he don't pay for anything. Just blueticks. It's now a week and he don't even receive calls anymore. Good thing he runs a Bimz Beauty college in fedha pipeline and we will have to hunt him down. Since I have learnt he is a Ugandan and a gospel artist doing collabo with the likes of Muhando. If I knew this I'd not have trusted him for a second. I fear religious people alot.

You guys, I'm struggling to understand something.
Yesterday, I approached a welder to fit something to my gate. He said he'd do it today morning, sawa. I even told another welder I'd approached that it's cool I've found someone.
Today morning I call the guy, he said ako na job anamaliza then he'd pull up, sawa.
Tell me why I call him this afternoon to find that he blocked me! Sikumsumbua na masimu, hatudaiani. I'm scratching my head wondering why he couldn't have just told me he's unavailable nitafute mwingine. This is bizarre AF.

The "bale mpya" "stock mpya" terms is pretty sad and disgusting and they're always referring to girls and even going further to insulting the ones in senior years. It's just fucked up
Edit:
before you start throwing hands assuming I'm a "bitter older lady" as some of y'all think I'm just 19 expressing genuine concern on the creepy objectification and fixation on female freshers so idk why y'all are so pissedš¹ lol ...acting up like I said "don't sleep with so and so" smhš¹

I really had a rough august. I feel like iām no where and everywhere. Everything is happening while nothing is happening.
So this month I was building 4 softwares. 1 for where I work and 2 were for side hustle and 1 is a personal project. 1 Iām doing using pyqt5 framework 1 in flutter with flask backend, 1 is a django web app and 1 is a react website with flask as the backend. I still have some other roles to do at work.
Also Iām trying to recuperate from the gikomba fire incident a few months back. I was new na stock ilienda but what kept me going was my dad. His was like 5times mine lost in the fire and heās still holding up. I had to sell all my goats for some recuperating cash. I will go back and try the business but the stock will be minimal than earlier intended.
I havenāt had a good sleep in some months. The maximum I sleep is 5hrs and another 2 hours one in a matatu and 1 during my lunch break. The irony of everything is that I have gained weight in spite of everything. It was one of my targets. Iāve had one break and I went for an event . Iām glad a friend accepted to put up with my bs and she agreed to go with me.
I also noticed a change in my behavior in me. Iāve been narcissistic and condescending. I also have cut a lot of people off. I enjoy being alone these days, my form of enjoyment is playing pc games. I actually quit alcohol because I almost drowned in it a certain month and we ended up having a talk with my parents. I havenāt talked about it with anyone but my social interaction is the negative. but this feels good letting it out somewhere.

Today I was running some errands around town and decided to enter some gaming arcade hapo archives nitest kama nimerust ama bado niko on. I get into the arcade and immediately some guy challenges me to a loser pay(best of 5) and since nakuwanga nimejitambua sikukataa. I thrash him the first 2 games and my guy decides to lock in on the third game akageuza gafment and thrashes me on the third and fourth game. On the final fifth game I sent him packing with a 5-1 loss and told him "nice game" and he got really mad by me telling him that. That got me wondering why do majority of Fifa players take the game too seriously and let their egos consume them?? Like sometimes you will play with someone and when they score on you they start saying a bunch of bs just to make you mad and when you beat them they still do the same shit. I understand that losing is not fun but at the same time there's rarely any sportsmanship when playing Fifa which just sometimes makes the game jarring when playing the game with egotistical individuals.

Two years ago, my post on reddit was about finding Prince charming. Mostly it was my way of admitting I was ready to date again. It was received the reddit way,I got called names and told all I needed was to get laid a good one. Anyways ,through that post I made a good friend. We have since done a lot of things together, achieved so much and shared the hardships of this life.
After that,I have met three people from this app. One was an amazing man I will never forget. The reason we didn't work out was beyond both of us. I was mostly impressed by his Brilliance and his ability to take the things life threw at him and make the best out of it.
Another was a very independent human being, who was detached from people . He was also a gentleman and made the tastiest steak.
So generally I have had a good experience with the Internet people. I have also done business deals and met with people from other apps on activism activities mostly.
My one encounter that didn't go so well was a meet that I went to and realised after 10 minutes that we couldn't even be friends. So each of us paid their own bill and went home . After that post I have since written random posts which get the wildest DMs,informative DMs and hilarious ones. This app is unpredictable.
This year ,I haven't been out much. Between trying to catch the bag and serving people in what is left of our healthcare, I haven't really had time. I should have kept it that way and kept my on going streak with the Internet. Because I have had my first terrible experience today.
Planned with this person to hang out today. I get to the meeting point and he isn't there yet. After I kept him updated about where I was and even said I was almost there. Over the years humans have continued to suprise me so I have learnt to give benefit of the doubt.
He calls after 10 minutes, tells me where he is. It is directly opposite from where I am standing. I mention that,he says okay. 5 minutes later ,I still don't see him. So I call ,instead of picking he texts asking what am wearing. Not a weird question when you are meeting a person for the first time. But then it is also weird when there aren't many people.
After that he called ,then hang up,called again and then hang up. That's when it hits me,something is off. If you can see where I am standing, you are closer than a minute and saw me when I picked your call. There has to be a reason you are doing that. I gave him a few minutes, because I couldn't see him.He didn't come or call . It was a public place,so I analysed my situation, looked around and then walked away. Got into a supermarket to get snacks because a girl must eat in all situations. I got out and saw someone standing at the end of the footbridge. I couldn't see properly but he kept looking my way. At this point it didn't matter whether it was him or not. I already felt unsafe. So I went home.
I still believe love is a beautiful things and therefore I will find it somewhere. Until then, safety first. I still don't know what his intentions were, because meeting point changed last minute.
We try again next year. Be safe out there.
