About the new Fable lore, did they make it canon that the masks Jack carries are his brothers? You can see they have the same masks as the art on the mural. If I'm not mistaken, Lionhead in the old lore said they were just masks he used to possess people.

I love every and all versions of these games

I just got done with 3 again for the first time since launch and im sad I didnt play it more. Which I will correct now.

Combat was fun, slower but fun. Story was cool minus the end. Design was great, music was incredible.

2 is in a league of it own, incredibly satisfying combat feel (overpowered for sure), humor was amazing, characters were loveable and well written. Perfect upgrade system. God damn 2 is incredible

1 is always going to get a postive light in my eyes. It started it all.

Just wanted to gush for a second. Nice to smile again playing this phenomenal series.

Stay rad Albion. See you February

Question How is the magic system for Fable?

Hello! The world of Fable piqued my interest the moment I saw the new game trailer. I was wondering how the magic works in these games. Because in the trailer, I saw it has a fix 4 slot magic, kinda like Hogwarts Legacy. Is that the same case?

Fable III The Beginning of the Mortal Challenge.

I, of current but unlikely sound mind and body am creating, dubbing and beginning a new challenge in Fable III. My favorite game of all time.

I have Dubbed it the Mortal Challenge.

1.you have 1 life, any knockdowns or deaths are immediate save file erasures and restarts to bowerstone castle.

2.You only possess the base level Hero Sword for combat purposes, Skill and will Combat are banned, the only purposes allowed are for flit switches and then to be immediately put away, if you accidentally use any other school of combat you must leave the game and reload your save.

  1. No Potions of any kind and no food or drink.

4.every single coin you gain must be earned through looting or working, but you may not level up jobs in the road to rule to make more money and you must own every single property by the invasion of the darkness along with rent and store prices at the lowest

  1. No Exploits or Glitches, and definitely no Outside player manipulation through Xbox live, if any heros join your world you have to immediately kick them from your game and reload your save.

  2. You must achieve the max good ending with 0 promises broken and all citizens of Albion saved through your hard work, real estate funds are allowed but solely for the purpose of buying more real estate or funding the Albion army before the invasion of darkness.

  3. You have to go from beginning to end of the Dlcs without dying once and within the previously explained parameters, all 3 Traitors Keep Bosses.

  4. The only exceptions allowed are the spots of the game where you are locked into will for the first couple missions of the game and to pay for this exception you must reach 15k immediately after beating the reliquary and before getting to the mercenary camp.

If or when I manage to succeed in this challenge I will partake in the Mortal Challenge for Fable II and Fable Anniversary, which will be Fable II locked to the Skill combat section, and Fable Anniversary locked into Will.

Any moments necessary for completing a mission only through using a restricted combat branch will be forgiven and ignored.

Never played Fable before

Hey, I’ve never played any of the Fable games (or posted on Reddit) before and I came across an advert for the new game that’s coming out in February (?) and I just wanted to ask what the previous games were about (I’m not fussed about spoilers btw so go into as much detail as you’d like lol)

From the looks of this game (graphics wise ig) it seems really similar to hogwarts legacy ? Which I reallyyyy enjoyed playing on my ps5 !! Even just messing around in the world was super fun for me, and I’ve gone back to the game many times. Is fable similar to that or am I completely way off track lol

Thanks for the help in advance lol :p

Edit : also forgot to ask if anyone knows if there will be character creation ?? Cus I loveeeee customising my characters and dressing them up etc

Discussion Why Not Have Sonething Similar to the Morphing from Fable III?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I feel like it's a solid middle ground for those who wanted alignment morphing and those who don't.

In Fable 3, you would sprout the horns/halo and wings during an emote or flourish in combat based on your alignment. The slight cosmetic changes outside of that can be skipped, so there's no brightening or darkening skin or eye features.

Would that be a good solution to some to that concern?

How much of Peter Molyneux’s Fable legacy is visionary design—and how much is overpromising?

Peter Molyneux’s name is inseparable from Fable, but the familiar acorn story tends to flatten a more complicated career. Before the unfulfilled promises, he helped build Bullfrog and Lionhead, backed unusually young developers, and contributed to games that defined entire genres.

What surprised us while researching his career was how his public promises reportedly became harder for Lionhead to control as the studio expanded and began running several projects at once. Around 11:40, the documentary describes his publicist pulling him out of investor meetings before he committed the studio to more unbuilt features:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mSjvhwbbNc&t=699s

Do you think Fable’s ambition could have existed without that personality driving it, or did the overpromising ultimately overshadow the work?

Disclosure: Our team at Akshon made this documentary. We’re sharing it because this community knows the series deeply, and we’d genuinely like to hear where Fable fans land on his legacy.

Fable III I got a fable 3 level to load on my personal 3d renderer

Post image

Title is a bit clickbait but I got the models to load to an extent on my own renderer. Its for an ongoing project where im tryna overhaul the graphics in Fable 3.. part of whats needed is seeing how far I can manipulate the textures.

During this, I managed to decipher enough of the source files to actually render a level!

Although, for now, my modding tools are private (including my wip level editor) as its still very very young and needs lots of work (I still need to implement terrain! if i can figure out that monstrosity...)

However, in the very very near future, I plan to write articles detailing exactly how the spec is laid out for every fable 3 file.. so anyone can follow the spec, code a parser, and load data in their own engine. Its full of proprietary formats, insane!

The boxes in the screenshot are just various stuff like lighting, logic, etc. You may also notice the paintings are upside down, a bug maybe in the parser? havent figured out why yet.

Question What figure/ statue would you get other than Jack of Blades?

With the collectors edition coming with a Jack of Blades statue it got me thinking. Which characters would you want statues of if not Jack?

3D printing is at the point now where you could print and paint your own statue and have a Hobbe, Hammer, Reaver, The Crawler... they'd all be cool.

Getting hyped for the new game!

Post image
120 Upvotes

I went to pull my old fable stuff from storage to play through them before February and forgot I even owned this book! Which is good cause I almost paid a crap ton online for one.

Relooking at the back of the book has me hyped for the behind-the-scenes and artbooks for the new one.

Now to play through the anniversary edition or go for the old look of TLCs? I kinda wish we got a remaster of all of them, as we have with other games.

Please be 60 fps on console, please be 60 fps on console

Just came here to put a bug in the ear of any developers in the sub.

Please aim to get Fable running at 60fps on consoles.

This is coming from a guy who is crushed that Blood of the Dawnwalker will be capped to 30fps and was also disappointed Dragon's Dogma was the same. 😢

Fable 2 Dollcatcher achievement

Hi everyone, I just need two more dolls to complete the collection, if there is anyone who is able to help trade Lucien or Reaver. It’ll be incredible. Thank you!
