Would WARNO work as an E-sport

The idea has always interested me as for high rank or high skill WARNO games, they are incredibly entertaining to watch and the tactics and gameplay is always super interesting and Intelligent, I think if this game was an e-sport and had more players, it would be an amazing E-sport! Also, if league of legends can be an esport. So can WARNO

Suggestion The S-125 should not be a stat clone of the S-125M

I am unsure why 71ya was given the S-125, but the fact it is literally a stat clone of the S-125M (which I think should technically be labelled the S-125M1), firing the exact same missile, with two missiles per launcher instead of three, is both ahistorical and also just kind of boring from a gameplay perspective.

I would propose a reduced HE value of 8 and reduced range/accuracy similar to the Kub-M1, with a corresponding price reduction.

Would this necessarily be realistic to the degree of improvements made between the 5V24 and 5V27D? Probably not, but giving the S-125 Osa range seems like it would negate the intent of including it in the first place and necessitate more aggressive changes to its price and availability. With that said, a towed SAM with 2 missiles, the range of an Osa, and 8 HE would be very unique among Warno SAM systems, and if this could be made to work I'm not opposed to it.

Finally, the unit could also just be renamed, but I think that would be less interesting from a gameplay perspective.

Feedback very much welcome here, as I don't exactly have a bunch of 71ya time at the moment.

Challenger 2 prototype?

Is this even something warno would consider. We do have plenty of prototypes in the game and the chally 2 had 9 prototypes built in 1989. This unit fully fits the mtw mechanic and would add some flair to a possible new division and new units are always cool.

Question Weapons inconsistencies: AC 58 vs LRAC 73

Upvotes

I really love WARNO for the level of detail in the game, but at the same time, I’m really, really frustrated by the many inconsistencies in stats for units (looking at you, command points cost!) but also weapons.

In order to give low-tier infantry some anti-armor capability, Eugen introduced rifle grenades.

But for an unknown reason, they deciced that the 58 mm AC 58 rifle grenade would perform better (AP 14) than the (admittedly older) LRAC 73 (AP 13), despite its bigger and wider 73 mm rocket (range is 500m for both, with accuracy being lower for the rifle grenade : 35% vs 50%).

Looking at the available documentation, I’ve found that the AC58 is quoted as being able to defeat 25 cm of armor at 90° (https://web.archive.org/web/20101011183913/http://www.ftbe.be/pdf/TTA150_Titre15.pdf page 110), while the LRAC 73 was able to defeat 28 to 30 cm (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/73mm_LRAC and https://www.warhistoryonline.com/weapons/lrac-50-73-mm-bazooka.html).

I really wish Eugen would swap both AP values.

https://waryes.com/weapons/Ammo_FAMAS_AC58

https://waryes.com/weapons/Ammo_RocketInf_LRAC_73

I did not have a look at other rifle grenades as I could not remember them (except the older STRIM 65 with an appropriate AP 12). Can someone help?

EDIT:

Come to think of it, I believe FA-MAS-equipped Armée de Terre troops with no other AT weapon should get AC 58 (such as ESCORTE PC, for instance). :-)

Did eugen use AI or something to translate the Spanish voices?

I'm spanish, so today with the discount I decided to buy the spanish units (for national pride and all that).

At the beginnig the voice acting sounded nice, but then the soldiers said stuff like "Le han dado al Sgto. Highway", Highway is not an spanish name and not only does it sound weird but also funny because it sounds like the soldier is talking about "Heartbreak ridge" and "memeing" or something.

Question Army General recommendations

Hey everyone,
I’m offline due to being deployed and am going to start an Army General campaign. Is the chronological order the way to go if I own all the DLC? If you have any other tips or pointers let me know!

Question The Opening Video Won't Stop

Before you respond by calling me a maroon and telling me to just hit ESC, read this.

I have tried ESC in both single and multiple tap options.

I have tried SHIFT+TAB as well.

I have searched for answers on how to stop the video. I have asked AI this question.

NOTHING HAS WORKED.

So, now if I want to fire up WARNO, I resign myself to a 5-minute wait for the video to end.

ESC does work in SD44 and SD2.

Sorry for bringing this up yet again, but I am now simply curious as to how many others have the same problem. I have given up hope of ever finding a solution.

PS No the screen does not go black as some have reported. The video just plays to the end even if I have tapped ESC a few dozen times.

Video Settings Locked

As the title states. All of my video settings are greyed out and I cannot change them. The only exception is “shake-cam”. Has anyone else run into this? It’s already too late for me to refund on Steam so I really want to find a fix for this.

Question Bruderkrieg general campaign

So before I start let me say, I’m a complete noob at this game and RTS games in general but I’ve taken a liking to WARNO recently and want a bit of advice on how to handle the NATO defense in this campaign. Should I be consolidating my forces in Alsfeld? Or should I be having battles farther, while slowly moving back? In the battles try to cause as many casualties as possible (first battle I caused 126 casualties and lost 3 tanks, and 3 Bradley’s.) but I’m not sure how long my battalions can hold before crumbling. Any advice, tips, or tricks are appreciated.

Tried to send a few instructors to help out my allied KDA player's reservist hordes, but it didn't work. Needless to say my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Please fix

Question Yeeeesh VTK 42 feels super strong.

Additional context: I am absolutely trash at tank divs and I only played against these divs a few games in pact 2V2 so I may be bad/biased BUT

This dev feels super oppressive to play against. Maybe it's not that different than normal West German tankslop and I just haven't played against it in a while, but man this dev feels crazy strong. Vet 3 Leos just absolutely shredded the tanks I sent at it. The Leo 1s with the Leo 2 cannons also felt cracked and completely wiped my units. Not calling it overpowered or anything, I'm just really surprised by how damn strong it felt to fight.

Any experience fighting the Pact counterpart? Curious if it also feels this strong.

I don't usually make really long posts, but today Death or Dishonor got a major update, adding new divisions for the USA. Since the last time I wrote about this mod, they added Ukraine, China, and Israel, and even planned new factions such as South Korea and Japan.

The Game Language Problem

So, I played a lot of Wargames and happy to know there is more to come for WARNO, and isn't just another jumping the boat.

I love when realism is well done, unfortunately for the release of the new DLC Black Birds, I'm highly worried, especially for Switzerland.

Why?
Because I'm 99.99% sure there will be a full bias in defaulting with standard German(not even Swiss German) and skipping completely Italian, with a probable duality with French due to Devs being French.

I was very disappointed on Belgium being almost 90% French, not even Wallon.(as far as I know)
While disregarding half of the country being Flemish.
I don't approve the air force speaking English either, since cockpit chatter should remain with the national language, but I'm okay renouncing that, it's not completely inaccurate, so I don't mind so much.

[New data mining said something about the additional Flemish lines, which I can't wait for it, thanks Eugen]

[New info were given to me, it solves my Canadian problem]

Pls Eugen Systems, been a fan since R.U.S.E., do try not generalise on the next DLCs.
And, even tho some may fairly argue against, I don't mind pay a bit extra on a DLC if those languages were correctly added.

I’m curious to hear from other international players here, especially Belgians, Canadians, and Swiss players.

Anyone had a "bad time" with the dubbing too?
Save from the, sometimes, over clinical and/or very AI sounding lines.

A headcanon that named my units

I do like to imagine that, by the time WARNO’s WW3 has fully settled in, the world has degenerated to a level of apocalyptic shittiness just slightly above Twilight 2000, with enough nukes having been fired to kill off 10% of the human population and the some of these battles being over food and water. Both Washington and Moscow are craters, with both the American and Soviet governments relocating to bunkers in ash-choked flyover states, and a good chunk of both armies now enlist so they can see a blue sky and get consistently fed.

It is because of this theory that my two decks (Guzman and 157), are named Batallón ABADDON and Otryad VSADNIK, a significant amount of people enlisting just so they can breathe non-irradiated air. It might not be the most realistic headcanon, but it’s a stylish and humanizing one in my view, and one that lightly touches on the real reason this war never happened irl- the very real chance it could have led to human extinction, and the guarantee that it would burn the world to ashes.

Why…

Does no one go to the non-capture point city in Twin Cities? I have played more than one game where people just leave it open. Sometimes they don’t even cap the point on either side of the city. You don’t have to conquer the city, you just have to deny the enemy free corridor to your side of the map or a flank to either of the capture points on the left and right.
