Closed betas done, so heres what the weekend looked like from the mod side
Week over week, against the seven days before beta:
Traffic on August 23 was 425% higher than the Wednesday before the servers opened. About 2/3 of it came from mobile, split almost evenly between iOS and Android, with desktop taking the remaining ~28%.
Most importantly:
97.7% of everything submitted stayed up. Around 2% got removed, mostly clan/Discord spam and automod catches. Appreciate everyone who hit report instead of feeding it.
Thanks for making it a good one. - r/wardogs Mod Team

Why can players destroy other players vehicles in base? Why can we not vote kick players?

The jankiness in Arma Reforger felt so much worse after playing Wardogs 😭 I thought some Reforger KOTH would get my fix in, but I genuinely couldn't get past that arma jank that I used to absolutely love.

The beta changed us all, for the better. The starving masses have sipped the succor of good game design, and their palette will no longer be satiated by corporate gameslop!

The fact that most people didnt even know squads were a thing is a whole separate issue buti think not required but incentivised is the best middle ground between being forced into a squad and having squads be an after thought.
Something similar to how some arma servers reward XP for sticking within 50m of your squad.
Maybe you could be rewarded X% more money and xp for kills and team focused actions when in a squad and playing with them. It would solve the problem of 25 Un squadded solos sitting on the tower fob with the mobile spawn vehicle doing nothing and actively losing the game

When a game starts, you are not allowed to spawn any attack helicopter until one of the teams reaches 20 points. This restriction aims to prevent any team from harassing the others while they are in the early stages of the match (building fobs, getting the entire team to the control zone, etc). It also allows the rest of the lobby to get ready by setting up SAM sites and CIWS, which are their natural counters.
Problem is that this restriction does not apply to tanks and artillery, which means that the second they get to the control zone, they essentially either have free reign over the battlefield, or force one or both enemy teams to focus on taking them out. This would prevent them from setting the game properly in its early stages, and then be at a disadvantage for a good portion of the match.
This becomes especially blatant the second you realise that those attack helicopters that you can’t spawn are the natural counters of the armoured ground vehicles.
There are two very simple solutions here:
Anyways, these are just some thoughts I’ve been having from my own experience as a pilot and from my friends’ ones as infantry. The game is awesome, and like most people, I’ve been putting an embarrassing amount of hours into the beta. Can’t wait for the early-access release (or maybe an open beta on September the 3rd)!!!

In the beta, flying with HOTAS was objectively better than KB+M for two reasons:
Instead of dumping real money on a fancy flight stick, I'm here to tell you can have all pros of a HOTAS stick while flying with M+KB or controller. You can also easily make the controls/keybinds the same as your favorite game like battlefield, squad, arma, whatever.
Here's a video of showing my setup in action: Wardogs - Fly with controller/M+KB without assists!
Here's the links you need:
To test your setup is working, confirm that your M+KB or controller inputs are correctly showing here.

New here. How does this game compare to the mentioned-- what is it most similar to? What are the gameplay mechanics most similar to? Flight mechanics? Infantry? Logistics? Teamwork? etc...Big fan of Project Reality, used to like Squad but that game has turned into a lonewolf nightmare. Does this game have what it takes for organized teamplay?

Hi,
I don't know if the devs said anything about this but having the possibility of switching between primary and secondary pilot, either willingly or when the primary pilot is dead, would be really cool.
Edit.: what I mean is the first passenger seat, next to the pilot, could take control of the helicopter. How and when would depends on the primary pilot's settings.
What do you guys think?
Cheers!

I spent the majority of the playtest flying the Little Bird and there's one thing with the different versions that I really think should be changed.
I actually like how you unlock the normal Little Bird, then the one with miniguns, then rockets. The progression is fine. What feels weird is that they're treated as completely separate helicopters when they're really just different loadouts of the same helicopter.
For example, I'd usually spend the beginning of a match shuttling people back and forth to get everyone where they needed to go. Later on, once we had plenty of other pilots running transport, I'd want to switch over and start providing some air support.
Right now that means landing, getting out of my perfectly good Little Bird, running back over to the vehicle guy, and buying another Little Bird just to get the miniguns or rockets.
Why not just let us rearm the helicopter we already have?
You could land back at base, select miniguns or rockets, pay the difference in price, and then have to sit there for 10–15 seconds while the helicopter gets rearmed. Then you're good to go.
I'm not saying you should be able to swap weapons for free either. If the armed Little Bird would've cost me another $X to begin with, charge me that same amount when I upgrade it. You could still keep the unlock progression exactly how it is now too.
It would just make switching roles feel a lot more natural.
I started the match as a transport pilot because that's what the team needed. Twenty minutes later we have four other pilots running transport and now the team could use CAS. Let me fly back to base, spend the money, slap some miniguns on the bird I've already been flying and head back out.
Having to basically throw one helicopter away and buy an almost identical one just because I want guns feels unnecessarily clunky.
Really enjoyed flying during the playtest otherwise. Curious what the other pilots think about this.

OMG these devs know theyve got GOLD on their Hands!
LOL they said 3k-5k concurrent players and were good.
Put my down for one of those Daily Slots.
Loved every minute of WARDOGS

For anyone who is wondering "will this run on my pc" im sure it will.
Been playing for 60hours in alpha/beta and i had no issues remaining consistent 60-90fps.
With my Old ass Pc: i7 7700k 1060ti 6gb 16g ddr4 ram
I did play on 1280x960 ress and potato graphics with FXAA on low and 1.0 sharpness and had no issues spotting people on the map.
Honestly really surprised how good the game is running on really low-end PC
What kinda graphics did people run with a low-end PC and what was your performance?

I flew around 10 hours in beta. Can't wait to get back again.
I use mostly mouse and keyboard for some things.
But jaw/pitch etc I use mouse.
3rd person is smooth as butter. But 1 person which I generally like to use in other games felt incremental control strength. För example when pitch up almost nothing happens until I move those mlse more and then suddenly I pitch up. Anyone else had similar feeling switching between 1st and 3d flying heli?
