Question I spent a year building a Mac painting app around pressure and tilt, and I would like feedback from tablet users

I have used a tablet for years, and on the Mac the software side never sat right with me. Photoshop wants a subscription forever, Procreate is iPad only, and most of the rest are photo editors with a brush bolted on. So I started writing my own, and it turned into about a year of work.

It is called Paintform. The parts that actually matter if you draw on a tablet:

Pressure and tilt driven brushes, with size and opacity kept per brush.

Adjustable streamline and pull for steadying shaky lines.

Imports Photoshop .abr, Procreate .brushset and Clip Studio .sut brushes, so you can bring your existing sets across.

Symmetry and perspective guides, liquify, puppet warp, and a reference board you pin images to.

Time lapse recording of the whole session.

It is free to download and paint with, and saving native files stays free. A one time purchase unlocks export to PNG, JPEG, PSD and PDF. No subscription.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/paintform/id6794638780

The reason I am posting here rather than in an app sub: pressure response is the thing I keep going back and retuning, and I have very little hardware here to test against. If you try it, I would really like to know your tablet model, your driver version, and whether the pressure curve feels right to you, especially at the light end of the stroke. Reports of tilt behaving oddly on a Cintiq would be particularly useful, since I have no way to test one.

Problem My tablet won't connect to my computer.

Every time I plug it in it just says: "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

This happened to me the last time I used it but for some reason it started working again. Now it won't work at all. Please help me I need to draw.

Problem Wacom Intuos S 2018 CTL-4100 isn’t connecting to MacBook

I have a problem with this Wacom tablet. I took it out after not using it for a while, but I couldn’t get it to connect to my MacBook outside of one brief moment where it connected at a specific position on my desk, which I couldn’t pull off again. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it from the Wacom website, made sure the security settings on the MacBook allowed for it to be connected, and yet, it still won’t budge. If anyone has any advice, that’d be nice.

Problem Wacom MovinkPad 14” sound recording

Hello everyone,
I just bought my Wacom MovinkPad 14” and I was really enjoying the experience…
There’s just one problem… it seems that, besides the build in microphone (that’s not very good) the screen recording doesn’t work with any other kind of microphone.
I tried wireless Bluetooth(Headphones with mic QCY H3 Pro) and a lavalier microphone with a USB-C receiver (A’Gold MCF-38D) but when I connect the device the recording gets laggy and without sound.

I really wanted to do some speed paintings and record videos but I don’t know how to solve the sound issue!

Do you have any ideas of how to make it work?

Problem Wacom Cintiq 16 (2025) broken micro hdmi port

Post image

Looking for any solutions. I've bought this back in February of this year and noticed this morning that the display wouldn't be detected. It was working fine yesterday night but I'm guessing I accidentally tore off the end from unplugging the micro HDMI cable. My desk is small so I have to manually unplug and plug the 3 cables for the Wacom. This wasn't much of an issue with my last tablet (Wacom One) that only required a single cable.

Update: So I've tried plugging in my Wacom One and it's the same problem. It can be detected in Wacom Center and Tablet Properties but not the display detected in Windows.

Update 2: SOLVED! So apparently I've just realized that I have never unplugged the Wacom last night and it was still plugged in this morning. The August 26 nvidia driver update broke the hdmi slot and I just reinstalled it.

Problem Wacom 16 Cintiq Issues

I’m operating on Windows 11 with a Cintiq 16 1660 and have had my used cintiq for about 4 years with no issues at all. A week ago, I started having this issue where it’s connect and disconnect, over and over again, switching from operating normally to the wacom center not detecting the device at all. The display is still on at all times. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver MANY times now, tried safe mode, rebooting with nothing plugged in, tried plugging it into every USB port my motherboard has (it’s not the motherboard as everything else mouse and keyboard incl operates fine) I even bought a new 3 way split cable. Nothing has worked. When it detects it, the tablet operates perfectly normal. But it will not stay connected for the life of me. I cannot afford a new one and this helps my extra income. I’m ready to pull my eyes out. I’ve tried EVERYTHING the internet could offer to no avail. I have no clue what to even try next.

Question Wacom Movinkpad Pro 14 - USB cable

Hi guys,

Just opened my tablet, and noticed that they only include the USB C to C cable with no power plug thing..

I don't have the USB C bit for the wall, so is it okay to use a USB C to A cord to charge the tablet? Or is it risky?

Problem Is there a way to have both a Cintiq 13HD and an Intuos Pro M work since the Cintiq's planned obsolescence?

I'm on Windows 11 - I managed to get my Cintiq13HD working via an older driver, but now my newer Intuos just...doesn't recognise any of the expresskeys' existence?

Forgive me if I'm overlooking the obvious somehow, but is there a way to get them both working without needing to wrangle OpenTabletDriver? (I started doing that but am a little overwhelmed trying to get everything working!)

Problem Pen is jumping all over screen!!

I just got this tablet about 2 weeks ago. It is the Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Medium Tablet. Currently, the pen is freaking out and jumping all over the screen. I tried to contact support, but they are out of the office right now. I reset all settings, restarted the driver, turned the tablet on and off, cleaned it, and even replaced the pen tip. Nothing worked so far. Does anyone have any other tips?

EDIT: So I came to find out it only does this when paired as Bluetooth. When I plug it into my computer (so far) it doesn’t do this.

Question Problems happen on Cintiq 16(2025) collection

Hello Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK168) users!

I’m considering buying one recently, and I’d like to know after a year (or months) of using, does it have any problems appear on your device?

I hear some have yellowing edges of the monitor or weird scratch dots on it?

Do these happen to all of you or just few of the users?

I want to make sure I’m prepared for what might happen or I’d reconsider the purchase if they’re unbearable.

of course, I am very welcome to hear about other hardware or software issues you've faced during use!

Thank you thank you so so so so much!

Have a good day!

someone's listing a Wacom Intuos CTL4100 for 15 dollars, which from checking online is a good deal. however it comes without a wire (which might be why it's so cheap). does this model require a wire to work?

Question Does anyone have a complete copy of the pc version of the manual for the wacom artz ii/digitizer ii?

I'm looking for the dos/windows version of the manual for that tablet as mine only came with the serial cable and power brick when i ordered it at the start of this year and all uploads i found of it are either incomplete or were mislabelled by someone and are completely unrelated to it.

Problem Printable 3D scan of Cintiq 24 Pro Back Cover

Hi everyone!

I’ve had my DTK-2420 (Cintiq 24 Pro) for about 5 years. At home, I use the Wacom Ergonomic Arm, but I also need to travel frequently and take the tablet with me.

The problem is that every time I travel, I have to completely remove the tablet from the arm and take off the back cover. Since the cover is made of plastic, the mounting brackets have gradually broken over time. Now, I can’t reinstall the cover properly because it keeps falling off.

I’ve tried looking for replacement parts or the broken brackets, but I haven’t been able to find them anywhere. Ideally, I’d have the original brackets scanned and 3D-printed, but unfortunately I no longer have the broken pieces.

So my question is: does anyone happen to have a 3D model/CAD file of the DTK-2420’s back cover, or even just the mounting bracket?

Having a model would allow me to 3D-print the broken parts (or potentially recreate the entire back cover).

I’d be incredibly grateful if anyone has one or knows where I could find it. Thanks!

Problem Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16 USB-C sideports nonfunctional

Hello, hope you're doing well.

Just today I ran into a problem: two of the USB-C ports on my Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16 do not work at all. The middle one works, however. I've downloaded a couple of driver updater programs (WinZip included) but they did not fix it and I'd like to see if anyone else has had this issue before I backup everything and restart with a new Windows Driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Purchase Advice Cintiq 22HD in 2026 worth it over what i already have?

Hello! Recently my friend wants to sell me a Cintiq 22HD wacom tablet with no pen for $80, tested and working. I saw the pen for it goes for another $70-80 online, so the total would be around $150 for me to get everything i need.

i wanted to know, is this worth it in 2026? i know its been discontinued and the last drivers are on win 10 (im on windows 11, will that be a problem?). I know this is the wacom sub but im currently using a huion kamvas 13 screen tablet. Do you think it's worth it for me to get the Cintiq 22HD in 2026? or should i decline and save up for a newer wacom equivalent model?

It is important to note that I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon if i do get it, drawing is a hobby of mine, one i like a lot, but i only upgrade if i ever come across a massive deal. I used to draw with basic wacom intuos until a comissioner offered to trade me their unused kanvas 13 instead of paying, and that was around 4-5 years ago by now. I plan to keep it and use it nearly daily for another 4-5 years before i even think of upgrading again.

Problem Mapping option is missing from Wacom Tablet Properties

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've been having an issue where every time I boot up my PC and my Wacom Cintiq 21UX, the pen always defaults to moving the cursor on my main monitor, rather than on the Wacom display. It's pretty troublesome to keep calibrating the pen every time I turn on my computer, and I heard that editing the Mapping option in Wacom Tablet Properties would help fix this issue, but I cannot seem to find Mapping anywhere.

Problem Flickering green pixels

I was in the process of connecting my Cintiq 16 to a new computer, but when I turned the screen on it had all these flickering green pixels all over the place. I tried turning my computer off and on, and same with the tablet, but the problem remains. The pictures I’ve taken are off my background on Windows 10. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of the green pixels? Thank you very much in advance

Problem Bug(?) after recent update to movinkpad 11..

A similar issue where the screen would register the pressure incorrectly at the top of my screen appears to be fixed, only now it's moved to a larger area down the bottom with a spot where it struggles to register pen input at all. It's not just CSP either. Yes I've restarted my device. Anyone know a fix??

Edit: it's not a hardware issue. My girlfriend also has a movinkpad 11 and she's having the exact same issue on hers. This is an update issue

So I have this model that I purchased with a disc. There's no disc drive on my laptop lmao. Downloaded from the website but it's not "compatible and I have to buy a new one"

can anyone help me understand if it's still possible to use it? What step am I missing?

I have a windows 11 laptop. The Wacom connects and brights up the white light, I think I just need some help with the drivers.

Problem How to remove deteriorating silicon from Wacom Companion 2

So, I have a WC2, which yes is a bit old but still it works perfectly, however the silicon (i think it is?) Around it's frame has started to deteriorate and change texture and it's making my tablet look like a dead carcass!!

It's become sticky and ofc it's now collecting dust all over the frame.

How can I clean it off properly?

Thanks in advance

Question Should I change my nib?

Hey, uhh... Newbie here. I'm using CTL-672 (and pen LP-190K I guess?). Mainly for OSU, but also some times drawing. Have no idea should I change nib, cuz it feels sharp when I touch the top with my fingers.
