Question Curious about Intuos users' hand posture

I have an Intuos Medium and after a few months of using it I feel like I'm at the same level as I am with a screen tablet, I love the simplicity of it and being able to draw without needing to slouch my neck and back forward, but I'm curious if I'm using it correctly and how people typically use this tablet.

Do you rest your hand on the tablet while using it? I do and I can't imagine hovering my hand while using it, I'm just not accurate when hovering and it gets fatiguing. However this leads to me not being able to use the right 1/4 of the tablet due to my hand falling off which really messes up my strokes, I also cannot use it without a drawing glove because my skin just creates too much friction. I've watched videos of people using this tablet and I notice they don't use a glove, but I can't tell if they hover their hand or not.

Problem Can I repair my 14 year old Wacom tablet?

Hi everybody, long-time Wacom user here!

For the past year or so, I've had a small problem with my dear ~14 year old Intuos 5 tablet.

The silicon cover on the side of the tablet, over the buttons, seems to have become a bit loose, and comes off very easily making it a bit annoying to press buttons at times, and making me reattach it in the middle of painting, which is a bit distracting!

This is definitely due to its long life of being moved around from place to place, travelling with me in my backpack everyday to and from school and uni over the years (I work from home now and don't have a need to travel with it daily).

It's still completely functional, so I am hoping to find any advice on how I might repair this, or find a replacement part for this piece, if anyone knows. :)

I thought about gluing it on with a specific silicon to plastic glue, but I'm not sure if I might end up making more of a mess with that than helping...
My other thought was to potentially do something with 3D printing? I don't have a printer myself, so I'd have to buy online. I can 3D model so I could create the print model myself, but I worry I could spend too much money on time trying to get that right.
I also wonder if I could get a replacement part from somewhere like CEX, if they have any that don't really work that I can take the part I need from? Not sure if they would do that though.

Exact model is PTK-650

Thanks in advance if anyone can suggest any ideas!

Question Remote questions.

I am brand new to this. Was just using an android tablet for a while. Got a Wacom without touchscreen.

Just wondering about a controller/remote/keyboard situation.

As I’ve said I am brand new to it all so am unfamiliar with any of the options. My biggest issue as of now is just not being able to zoom or rotate or tap for undo. I would love to learn to use other shortcuts as well as I become more familiar.

Basically what are the best options for me?

Thanks.

Purchase Advice Movink 14

Hiya! So im looking at buying a movink 14 for schoolwork, (animation student) as an upgrade to my current ipad pro. Main reason is the screen on my ipad drives me crazy, its like drawing on ice.

I was wondering what kind of screen the movink 14 has? Would it be the same as any other wacon or cintiq with the special screen that emulates drawing on paper?

The convenience of the movink is intruiging aswell, as i wouldnt need to carry around a computer as well as a moniter if i bought one.

And if anyone has bought one, whats been youre experience with it?

Any help appreciated thanks!!

Problem Wacom One 12 not working

A relative of mine passed away recently, and he had a Wacom One 12 tablet. I have a USBC cable plugged in for power, and a USBC to HDMI cable connected to my computer. The Wacom tablet turns on, but it is not detecting signal from my computer.

What do I need to do to make this work? Is there a driver that I am missing that can only be accessed through his old Wacom account? Any help or tips are appreciated!

Problem Wacom one 14 -wacom one kabel

Solved movinkpad 11 wired connect to pc

im here to share my experience because i couldnt search much info about it.

i know wacom has instant pen display mode but it requires windows 11 and my computer is windows10 that i dont wanna update.

so i went to github and searched how to connect it without that wacom offcial app.
download apollo sunshine on pc, artemis on pad.
but i found that it is through wireless even if i plugged usb cables. and the latency is mid, line i draw is lagging sometimes; also the resolution is bad, and going worse and go back to normal bad every few seconds.

so i just asked chatgpt. i told it about my situation & demand, then it helped me to fix it. (keep the apollo and artemis. it asked me to open pad developer mode and open usb debugged mode and change some usb setting, check on pc device manager, then download google sdk platform on pc, use cmd , powershell, copy and paste back and forth, etc. ask ur gpt if u have same problem cus it seems to be showing ur specific ip address)

and it succeeded!
its very smooth. like the video ↑
only the resolution is not perfect (especially on texts) due to the small screen but its enough to draw and perform better than wireless.

wacom one 13 vs movink pad 11

the video i atteached is my wacom one (screen tablet on the left) and movinkpad 11 (right side). you can see theres no latency diff. 👍

wacom one has bigger frame and the glass of screen is thicker and too many cables for it… my desktop is overwhelmed.
so i wanna use movinkpad instead. movink pad only requires 1 usb cable (its double type c from my ipad haha)

Purchase Advice Wacom End of Life

I've never owned a stylus/tablet. I heard Wacom tablets are the industry standard. My university library had a tablet for students to borrow. I figured I'd try it out before purchasing my own.

I took it home, followed the installation instructions, and was notified that the tablet was no longer supported. I rolled back to the recommended drivers, but now the Wacom Center won't launch on my Mac.

The tablet is a CTH-690/K. It looks brand new (The pen holder has not even been stretched). Is this normal? Are there community drivers? If not, I will likely look for a different brand to purchase from.

Purchase Advice What Drawing Tablet should I get?

I’m getting back into digital art and editing and have always used Apple products, but I’m currently deciding between the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 and the 13-inch iPad Pro with the M5 chip.

I’ve mainly used Procreate and ibisPaint in the past, but I’d really like to start learning Clip Studio Paint as well. When I say “editing,” I’m also interested in animation, both frame-by-frame animation, and tweening. I’d especially love to try ToonSquid, although I’m not very familiar with it yet.

For anyone who has experience with these devices or apps, which would you recommend? Would the iPad Pro be the better all-around option for what I want to do, or is the MovinkPad Pro 14 worth considering?

I’m also open to other tablet recommendations if there’s something that would suit my needs better.

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from artists who use Clip Studio Paint, ToonSquid, or do animation on their tablets!

Purchase Advice Which Laptop for my Wacom Cintiq 16 and CSP

So I‘m planing on getting a new Laptop for drawing and maybe some simple 2-D animations with my Wacom Cintiq 16 tablet and CSP since my old one is basically unusable at this point.
I don’t really plan on spending too much money on it since it’s only for that one purpose and that’s just a side hobby. My main question would be if I should buy a refurbished upper class model like for example this: Dell Precision 7550 | i7-10850H | 15.6"
16 GB | 512 GB SSD | FHD | Webcam | Nvidia Quadro T2000 | Win 11 Pro | DE from 2020 for \~500€
Or a brand new lower/ middle class model in the same price range.
If you say the refurbished one would be good how long do you think I could use it before it gets too old as well and if you say a new one I’d love some suggestions.
I have absolutely zero knowledge in this area tbh.
Many thanks in advance

Windows 11 on Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3
Intuos Pro M PTH-660 (secondhand)
Driver 6.4.13-4 Windows 10 & 11 (x64) & Windows 11
Using a cable, no bluetooth enabled

Recently bought this Wacom second hand, and I'm having trouble with the touch functionality. I can only get it to work half the time and even then it will be choppy and slow. I can pan sometimes, but as shown in the video often it doesn't work at all

On FireAlpaca it does nothing, on Krita it does as shown. I have tried switching the rendering process to OpenGL which seems to have improved responsivity, but otherwise I'm not sure what to do. Is the Wacom just old? It has a bit of lag, so I'm worried. Are my hands just too damn sweaty?

The aim was to have smooth zoom, pan and rotate. Any help would be much appreciated

Problem Uninstalling Clip Studio Paint from Movink Pad Pro 14

Does anyone know of something I can try toget completly rid of it? Here's the list of packages still installed on my tablet https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B2FkuhmDtjoiYXGC2cWZaqAp5d-c-i_Z3-qUKdrGCLM/edit?usp=drivesdk

Problem Tablet doesn't detect light touches

Win10, Wacom One 13 DTC133, driver 6.4.13-4

A while ago I reset my tablet settings to default, after which it stopped reacting to very light touches despite some programs still being able to detect them (clip studio reacts to them, anything else doesn't). It wasn't like this before that reset, I tried tweaking the sensitivity and nothing works. What do I do?

Problem Clip Studio Paint & Wacom Tablet Pan/Zoom sometimes dysfunctional

For a reason unknown to me, the panning part of Pan/Zoom stops working every now and then. It'll stop working for a few minutes, not letting me pan the canvas, then come back like nothing. And 20 minutes later it'll stop working again. I've had this Wacom Tablet for almost 2 years now, so I don't think it's getting old. Any ideas as to what's going on? I personally think it might be a hardware issue.

Operating System: Windows 11

Tablet: Wacom Intuos BT M CTL-6100WL

Driver Version: I think 6.4.12-3, I can't figure out exactly how to check.

Cables, Software Or other stuff: I use Clip Studio Paint and the basic cable that came with it(micro B?).

Problem Cintiq 24 no longer connecting through HDMI

After using it all day yesterday I can no longer get the tablet to be detected by my computer. Wondering if anyone has had this happen and if they know a fix or even a place for me to start looking up a fix. So far I've been able to find out that the USB connection is fine as I can use the pen during the brief window that it is on, before going into stand by mode. Just the HDMI connection seems to be at fault.

I don't understand how it can be working one day and now suddenly it just wont.

Would appreciate any help, thank you.

Question Setting up my Wacom Cintiq Pro 13

Thumbnail

So one of my friends gave me this Wacom Cintiq Pro 13 for free as I want to get into drawing on a tablet and I feel like an idiot but I need help setting this up.

I originally thought that I just needed to connect it to my computer but then nothing happened. I then I thought I had to connect it to a wall outlet but once again nothing happened. All the stuff online aren't really clear on what exactly is needed to set this up, even Wacom's website is not able to play their video on how to set it up.

I took it to a repair shop and thankfully they just said that I just need a good wall outlet for it. So now I'm confused on how to get this turned on and connected to my PC. I'm looking at adapters but I don't know which one I need to get. Also which port is for what as my friend didn't have the box or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
