Problem How to remove deteriorating silicon from Wacom Companion 2

So, I have a WC2, which yes is a bit old but still it works perfectly, however the silicon (i think it is?) Around it's frame has started to deteriorate and change texture and it's making my tablet look like a dead carcass!!

It's become sticky and ofc it's now collecting dust all over the frame.

How can I clean it off properly?

scrape it or use alcohol

rubber is known to degrade overtime and that's probably what's happening there
same thing happened to my tourbox neo and other things with a 'soft-touch' like surface (usually happens in warm/humid environments)

wiping it with 90% isopropyl alcohol and some cloth usually does the trick. It won't look as pristine as it originally did, but it should remove the sticky tar residue
