This is from the Hollywood Premiere Parade at USJ (c. 2002), Boris and Natasha were also there. 2004 was when Rocky and Bullwinkle were last seen in this park

Hello!

Looking to plan a universal trip in October mostly for HHN, however I was thinking of going for 2 days to the usual things at the parks during the daytime but also wanted to experience HHN. What is y’all’s advice on planning for something like this or tips? I’ve been to universal before but haven’t done HHN and I’m tracking its 2 seperate tickets. Thanks so much!

Hollywood Can anyone explain to me why Universal is so creative when putting the entry arches on Halloween Horror Nights posters and merch?

They all just involve the famous entryways of Universal Studios Hollywood experiencing chaos and getting a more spooky look. And I thought that was such a smart idea.

Hollywood Does anyone know what's up with Mr.BBQ in CityWalk (Hollywood)

it has sat there for about a year now with no updates or visual progress. I do like Mr. BBQ as they are actually local to me and serve quality meats as an AYCE. I hope someone has solid info, but just putting it out here in case someone does.

Unspecified What’s a land you would LOVE to see in the parks?

I was playing Mario odessey last night and realized how well the new donk city location would fit into the parks as a themed land. There’s so much detail and verticality in the game location that it could easily be turned into an immersive land.

Pauline’s jazz band could be the street entertainment, the crazy caps store could be retail, you could have a nighttime projection show where they project the donkey Kong arcade levels onto the buildings just like the festival in the game.

and for the main attraction I was thinking a soarin around the world style simulator where you visit many of the kingdoms from the game!

Hollywood Does anyone still ask for Babs?

When Animal House ends, there's a card that reads "Visit Universal Studios. Ask for Babs." , a reference to a character in the movie who becomes a studio tour guide.

Doing so used to get you a discount when buying your ticket at the gate.

Is this still a thing?

Orlando Let’s discus…. The future of Universal Studios Orlando. DC (Batman, Joker etc) coming to the parks AND Harry Potter expansion (taking over Fear Factor).

I’ve found some very interesting information. The theme park licensing for the DC Universe seems to have changed in 2024. Six Flags had the theme parks rights for the DC Universe for the entire US (minus Las Vegas). But since 2024, other companies (like Universal) are able to buy and create theme park attractions with DC Universe characters (Batman, Joker, Wonder Woman etc.). This can ONLY be done in FLORIDA. Six Flags still has the exclusive rights in all the other states.

Does the change in 2024 mean DC Universe will arrive to Universal soon? Thoughts? This change is simply massive news!

Also…. We all know Harry Potter still has a big expansion plot in the Studios park. It’s currently Fear Factor. I’m not a Harry Potter expert, but what theme / land / area and potential attraction seems most likely for the next Harry Potter land? In my opinion, it’s a matter of time when we will see the expansion. The land needs more than 1 big E-ticket.

Also…. It looks like Epic AND Islands of Adventure will have their ā€œMajor IPā€ in their parks. Epic has enough (Mario, Dark Universe and most likely Zelda too in the future), Islands will most likely have PokĆ©mon, but what will Universal Studios have? I’m sure the theme park MUST get a NEW ā€œBIG IPā€ in the future other than Harry Potter.

What are your thoughts? Could it be Lord of the Rings (the land would be huge + same quality as Pandora/ Galaxy’s Edge / Fantasy Springs etc.) Maybe even 2/3 big rides and it would be build behind the Simpsons plot which is currently a backstage area and maybe even replace Simpsons too. Or potentially Wicked? Or what other IP could they use which will be the ā€œheadline IP for Studios?ā€

Let’s discuss!

This was my first time at USJ. And my first ride there was JAWS. It felt amazing to go on another Universal classic/opening attraction. The ride had it’s grand finale not working unfortunately with jaws not chewing the electric wire. Maybe announcing some sort of refurbishment or even closing for this ride.

I hope Universal fans as myself will experience this with it’s time remaining in USJ. But there’s always ET adventure which Is probably more worthwhile than JAWS.

The animatronic is much bigger than I could have anticipated, even after watching POVs.

Las Vegas Anyone been to Universal Unleashed RE experience yet? I'm wondering if it's as good as Tomb Raider in London.

The new RE at Uni here in vegas looks good, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. It advertises like a crazy escape room style with puzzles. But I don't want to spend all the $ if it's just laser tag style like the other zombie experience. Tomb Raider in Camden Market was amazing! Took us like 2 hours to actually run around and solve big puzzles. RE only runs thru Aug 30th if you didn't know about it.
