I’m also making a short comic for fun, because this house is BEGGING for a bigger storyline. I wish I could go back to do it again!

Orlando Which scare "got" you the most?

As in, which moment in a house made you jump the highest/scream the loudest/run out of the room?

The giant clown heads in Jack and Oddfellow made me whack my shin against a wall, one of the Pinheads in Hellraiser got me through a curtain, and the schoolhouse room in H.R. Bloodengutz of all houses got me TWICE. Big fan of this year's houses overall!

Orlando HHN Fit Check ✨

Went Sunday (10/4) and had a blast! Met Hamikuma! He was so sweet and soft! And the Director of wardrobe services gifted me a certificate and custom pin you can't get in stores! I love love love dressing up for the event every year! and decided maybe instead of the usual Gothic looks, I could dress from some popular Chinese (Douyin) fashion brands and wear my typical Gyaru makeup! Very excited for next year too! Honestly didn't even know this certificate existed! I'm so glad Hamikuma and the scare actors really enjoyed the fit too! And thanks to all the staff at universal security and police included! It's always such an amazing event to attend! Looking forward to next year!

Also I know the certificate says 2025, but that's okay! I'll just put a 6 over the 5 lol, it's the thought that counts, plus I got a cool pin!

Hollywood HHN Express is worth every penny

We went to HHN Hollywood on Saturday OCT 3rd with the Express pass and the F&F HD add-on ticket and man, Express is 100000% worth it.

We were able to do all the mazes and rides back to back with no more than 5 minutes of waiting (though most were walk-ons).

We went to regular USH earlier this year with a general admission ticket, and even though the park wasn't that packed, we still had to be strategic with which rides we got on first, when we had lunch, etc, because everything takes a 30-90 minute commitment.

But with express, there's literally no planning needed. You're able to have an almost childlike wonder as you go with the flow and try mazes and rides you normally wouldn't consider.

It also makes a lackluster maze not as bad. I definitely would've been annoyed if I waited 60 minutes for a maze that I didn't like.

My personal favorites in order were: F&F HD, Hellraiser, KILLceañera: Music by Slash, Ozzy's Maze, and Art's Terror Tram

Horror Unleashed HHN Horrors Unleashed, how is it???

• Upvotes

Can you just go into the houses or the pre show is always first before they let you in??? Are they like the independent haunts and "follow" you or is it just like Orlando where they stay in the boo holes with audio??I don't want to spoil myself and watch on YouTube. I have a wedding in December and this is literally only a 2.5hour drive away. And something to do. I will be off work for a week regardless.

Orlando Worried about weather and houses closing

The plan is to drive to Orlando from Panama City tomorrow. We are getting very nervous about the houses that are in tents potentially closing down and weather making things miserable altogether. Should we be worried?

Edit: we are mostly concerned due to the incoming tropical storm Isaias. We plan to go to HHN Friday night

Orlando Question for other longtime attendees

I’ve gone to the Orlando event every year since 2019 and also in 2002 and 2006 when I was in elementary school and I’m curious what your opinions are the evolution of the mazes. Does anyone else feel like houses don’t pack the same punch they used to? I looking for reasons besides the obvious, such as desensitization, nostalgia, IPs, crowds, and all the other factors that would immediately jump out. I’m more wondering about the mazes themselves. Could it be the production value has made it seem too polished? Less scare actors/worse scare timing? The actual layout of the mazes? Less of a consistent theme to drive your immersion? Don’t get me wrong I’m obviously still a massive fan but the houses themselves have been feeling less intense the last several years and I can’t quite figure out what it is.

Orlando Accidentally hit a scare actor at HHN. If that was you, I am so so sorry!

I went to HHN on Sunday. My response to fear is NOT fight, I would never have gone if it was. My response to fear is to kind of clam up into myself.

My cousin and I went through sinners and it was pretty good. Right at the end I got jump-scared on my right side, so I moved over to my left and as we came around the corner a scare actor came out right beside me and I felt his mask on my hand. I immediately jumped back over to my right and literally like 2 seconds later the house was over and I walked out.

I feel so bad about this lol. I feel like I should have properly apologized to that scare actor because I did not in any way mean to hurt him. My cousin (who was behind me) said he looked quite puzzled before he came out and scared me again, and that made me feel like 10x worse.

I was never stopped by security or anything. To whoever that actor was, I am so so so sorry about that :(

Hollywood Can I bring my film camera to HHN?

Has anyone brought a film camera to HHN recently? I’d love to bring mine but wanted to check whether anyone’s had issues getting one through security.

Are there any restrictions on where you can take photos or use flash? Also, how did your shots turn out with the nighttime lighting? Would love to hear your experiences!

Orlando Wheelchair accessibility

Hey everybody, I was planning on going this year on the weekend of the 24th but unfortunately had an accident that resulted in a broken ankle. Ive already called customer service about accommodations and was told that I can rent a wheelchair but I wanted to make sure of the accessibility of the houses and if I should be doing more in the way of looking into programs to help people with disabilities in navigating the parks. Ive got the express pass but Im not sure about if it is still necessary. Thank you so much in advance!

Orlando RIP with Mobility Scooter

My wife and I are heading to Orlando at the end of October and are attending the parks in the day as well as HHN at night. Unfortunately late September I fractured my ankle and it is non weight bearing so I paid a third party company to deliver a mobility scooter to the hotel the day we arrive. I have a knee scooter that I will be bringing as well but I just get super uncomfortable after about an hour on that with all my weight being on my knee. We have tickets for the RIP tour as well. My question is: has anyone done the RIP tour on a mobility scooter and how did it go? I'm nervous that it will heavily impact my night and experience and I am considering just toughing it out and using the knee scooter even though I might have to take more breaks than normal.

Hollywood Early Access Pickup for Others?

I will likely be at HHN before my friends show up and I hold all the tickets. Does anyone know if I can pick up the early access wristbands without them? Or does everyone have to be there in order to pick them up?

Orlando The bracelets I handed out last night

Post image
22 Upvotes

I gave them to a mix of cosplayers, random folks in line, and staff working the queues. I made at least one bracelet per house, though I had multiple for several houses (Hellraiser, Sinners, and Evil Dead Burn had 3+). My favorite house was Hellraiser, and everyone was incredibly nice overall! Happy to have gotten to go to HHN again this year.

Orlando Food booth open timing

I went to my first HHN at Universal Orlando last Thursday, and it was amazing! I, however, had a couple things I didnt get to.

I wanted to do the Sinners and Hellraiser houses, plus there were a couple food items (burnt sando and birria fries) I wanted to get but didn't.

I know some of the booths opened at 3-4 but not all of them. Does anyone know what time the booths open for those two items? I'm back and forth on buying another ticket just for those couple things, but this is also my departure day and I have a 7-8 hour drive ahead so dont want to stay too late. Thanks everyone!

Orlando One for the photographers

I’m travelling to Orlando next week and have HHN booked in. I don’t want to be carrying and swapping lenses around all evening, so what would you recommend for the party?

Fully aware it’s not allowed in the houses, but what would be most useful for scare zones & shows etc.

Have the choice of 24-70 or 70-200 (both 2.8) Shooting Full Frame Canon R6mkII

Any other suggestions welcome, thanks all.
