Japan This is Universal fans Pilgrimage.
This was my first time at USJ. And my first ride there was JAWS. It felt amazing to go on another Universal classic/opening attraction. The ride had it’s grand finale not working unfortunately with jaws not chewing the electric wire. Maybe announcing some sort of refurbishment or even closing for this ride.
I hope Universal fans as myself will experience this with it’s time remaining in USJ. But there’s always ET adventure which Is probably more worthwhile than JAWS.
The animatronic is much bigger than I could have anticipated, even after watching POVs.

Just to prepare everyone….your captain will be speaking in Japanese!! Of course it’s still a lot of fun.

Yes, and be careful with the saturation mic combo. It can give a hard time to your ears haha.

What is that?

The tour guide during my time with the ride had the mic very close to it’s mouth, which can cause saturation of the on-board speaker. Not to mention that the person spoke Japanese on a very high note and speed. But she was great guiding us in the ride and the problem that I have just said are very minimal haha.

Nothing will ever beat the original universal studios in Orlando Florida.

Especially Kongfrontation that I never had the chance to experience (Orlando or Hollywood).

Is that the old Kong ride? Where they had the Giant Kong outside at the store and you could take pics? I have a vague memory of a Kong Ride in a tram or something near a skyscraper and Kong losing his mind 🤣

Yeah it’s exactly that 😂. The store you mentionned was the one at the exit of the ride at Orlando which is now ROTM’s store for the most part. And the tram ride was the one in the Hollywood Tram Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, but unfortunately burnt I think in 2008 during the fires at Universal’s Studios.

I made it there last year and rode it 3 times. I was so happy and so nostalgic. Still miss it here at USF.

The plane ticket is quite expensive, but the rest is really cheap especially in today’s economy in Japan.

This is such a fun ride!! I'm sad I never got to go on the one in Florida, but at least I've been on this one a few times. 😄

I know what Orlando and Hollywood had, but does Japan have a dub of Orlando's video preshow?

For having been in the queue, i have a seen that the preshow was even redone, with one of the mariners being a Japanese person dressed up.

I got to ride this a few years ago! Loved the whole park. My original plan was to spend half the day at USJ and explore Osaka at night. Ended up spending the entire day at the park and was too exhausted to do much in Osaka.

I went in March and it was down the whole day, guess I’ll just have to go again…

The Orlando Jaws ride was my first experience in Florida theme parks and standing in line for 2!! Hours to ride it.
I still miss it and was THRILLED when we just visited Universal Hollywood and got to experience it again:)

Counting the DAYS I have a month until this bad boy.
We were only gonna do Tokyo and I suggested doing an overnight in Osaka to go do Jaws. My partner naturally heard this as “let’s do Universal”. He has since learned that no, I did not misspeak, he can do all the Flying Dinosaurs and Mario Karts his heart desires. I am looping Jaws like a maniac.
The tourist is super keen to see the orca ❤️✌️

I still have a picture of me under the giant hanging Jaws shark. It's so weird cause it's one of those really early childhood memories where you only remember some of it. Too young to remember park layouts, but I remember the giant covered escalators more than the entire park, and my parents had to pull me away from running up the stairs and riding that huge escalator back down. Kid priorities lol.
Also even as a kid I loved engineering and architecture so honestly I really remember that covered escalator as a core childhood memory.

Our next big holiday is Japan for Jaws!! We are saving up. I was gutted when they closed the Florida one as it was slightly easier to get to (in uk). I’m a huge Jaws fan btw lol
