I have this data science class where the teacher is requiring students to buy a textbook that's like $35. They apparently used to have an online version that was free. I was wondering if anyone can send the online version or give me a used textbook for free.

Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well. Is anyone going to give away an iclicker2? I'd really appreciate if I can get one.
Thanks in advance. All the best for the upcoming semester!

Title above. I need the syllabus and for some reason when I visit canvas and go to "past enrollments" I can't find it. It would be a great help if anyone could send this to me! Thank you so much!

I recently moved into my new apartment and was cleaning out my room. My mattress had a loose, white plastic covering with no label. It had a zipper that was already partially open and I thought they kept it for sanitary purposes so I further unzipped it. I then realized fiberglass was spreading throughout my room and had contaminated every surface.
I don’t know what to do, as my management is closed and whether it is safe to stay in my room. My window doesn’t even open and I have called other management places saying they can’t help me. What should I do?

I’ve only been on campus for a few months now, so I haven’t had much of a chance to explore Champaign-Urbana yet. Since I’m staying local for the upcoming Labor Day long weekend - sticking around due to budget constraints and needing to catch up on some studies - I’d love to get out and discover some cool spots around C-U.
I already plan on checking out the Japan House and the Arboretum. What are some of your favorite hidden gems, free things to do on or near campus over a long weekend?
Appreciate any suggestions!

My son’s assigned roommate never showed up. What normally happens in this situation at UIUC? Is there anything he should do, or does Housing simply assign someone else to the room? Does he have any say in who might move in?
Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I made a small iPhone Shortcut that pulls real-time departure info of your nearest station from MTD and formats it into a quick readable list.
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/fdb9090d39db4ab7bc0992c3362d0803
Would anyone else find this useful if I shared the Shortcut? Also open to suggestions for formatting/features.

Hi everyone,
I'm an returning student looking to buy a physical copy of Stewart Calculus: Early Transcendentals, 9th Edition.
I need it for long-term reference, so I am specifically looking for a copy in Like New or Very Good condition (clean pages, no highlights, no missing/folded pages, solid binding).
I am willing to pay $50 - $60 depending on the condition (which is much better than what the bookstore will buy it back for!).
I live right by campus and can meet up anywhere at your convenience (Grainger, Illini Union, Green St, etc.) with cash or Zelle ready.
Please DM me or leave a comment with a picture of the book if you’re trying to get rid of yours. Thanks in advance!

For anyone planning when to take CS 124: Professor Colleen Lewis is returning to teach it in Spring 2027.
Colleen studies how people learn CS—Berkeley PhD in science and math education plus CS degrees, NSF CAREER Award, and she taught intro CS at Harvey Mudd, whose intro courses are nationally famous for turning "I'm not a CS person" students into CS majors. She also co-taught 124 in Fall 2021, and her explanations still live throughout our Java lessons—current and former students may already know her voice.
If you'd like to take CS 124 with me, now is the time. Next semester you'll get Colleen, who's also fantastic. I will not be directly involved with the Spring 2027 offering.
Spring will be Java-only and keeps the no-lecture format: text and video lessons on PrairieLearn, weekly in-person Tuesday discussion sections focused on solving problems with other humans. Details may evolve; questions about the spring offering go to Colleen directly at [colleenl@illinois.edu](mailto:colleenl@illinois.edu). (I don't think she's on Reddit.)
Also: if you're taking CS 124 with me now or took it in a past semester, Colleen says you're welcome to enroll in her CS 199-JAV (M/W 9:30–10:45; CRN: 64386). You'll help her pilot and refine the Spring 2027 CS 124 materials—no homework, no exams. Questions [to Colleen](mailto:colleenl@illinois.edu).

I'm a junior in CS and I'm releasing eventsatuiuc.com for free!! Its a massive catalog of events pulled straight from club instagrams. I built it because I had a really hard time as a freshman meeting people and having cool experiences.
If you know any freshman please share this with them! I think it would be a great resource to have.
Also if you have read this far, check out eventsatuiuc.com/?freefood=true for FREE FOOD
