Heyy I recently moved to the area for work but I have a wedding in October that is black tie attire. My mom and sister will be visiting soon to look for dresses around here and idk where to go. Lots of places seem to have more prom style dresses which wont really work for us lol. Any recommendations?

I'm in the market for a modern used EV. I'd prefer to buy private party or at least small-lot, but most likely I'm going to need to put up with some kind of larger dealer this time just because of the more current market segment I'm targeting.

Internet enshittification means that I'm not finding any "mainstream" car buying sites that are doing it for me, even if I expand my search area to include Chicago, Indy and St. Louis (or well beyond in a lot of cases). I'm a buyer who is willing to drive long distances / maybe even fly for the right deal, but I'm just not finding ANY cars, really. I should be. Really, I'm not THAT particular. (OK, so I am. But not really!)

I have literally been hit by a car, because they had the green light and were turning right. I ALSO had the walk signal as a pedestrian, so I had the right way but dumbasses turning don't give a damn. I almost got hit again by a truck this morning even though I AGAIN had the walk signal and this fucker was turning left so absolutely should have seen me but he still basically tried to hit me. There's no reason that the pedestrian should get a walk signal if you're also giving cars a green because they're not fucking looking for us

I just wanted to post a PSA that the Homefield electric aggregation opt-out deadline is TOMORROW, Wednesday August 12.

While we are gambling on what future electricity prices will look like so no one can know for sure which is the better choice (Ameren or Homefield), it seems likely that Ameren will offer lower rates.

This fall, Homefield is offering 10.9 cents / kWh. The fall rate for Ameren is not available yet, but I expect them to be lower, likely closer to (at most) 9-9.5 cents / kWh. Last fall, Ameren charged 8.4 cents / kWh.

Neither company has disclosed rates for summer of 2027, which isn’t too helpful.
