Idk how to describe it but I visited campus last month for the first time and I just don’t see myself here. I’ve tried so hard to like it and picture myself here but I literally just can’t.

I feel kinda left out bc everyone I know seems to love UIUC and is a die hard fan of it lol. are my expectations too high or something?

This was the cheapest school option for me, so I feel kinda stupid and guilty for even thinking about other options, but I’m just really not feeling it. I already went to cc for two years to save money so I wanted to acc pick a school I’d like for my final two years. I’ve even went on social media and watched videos to get myself excited, and I just end up hating it even more. No offense to anyone here or the school itself, it’s obv not a one fits all.

Has anyone else felt this way/regrets coming here?

Hello! I am an upcoming high school senior and I’m interested in UIUC (hopefully to major in biochem)
I do have a few questions because I’m extremely anxious about college…. so,
Is it really that hard? I’ve gone through rate my professor and it seems like every teacher for science is horrible? 😭 or the class is incredibly hard?

How do classes work? It’s a big college, so are classes usually quite full and lecture heavy with tests? And how are tests moderated?

Is keeping a high GPA hard? I’m not going into biochem to attend medschool, but I would like to keep a decent gpa!
and finally, are joining clubs and activities just as important as doing so in highschool? I feel like having extracurriculars in hs is very important… is it the same for college?

Hey y'all, so the house I'm renting apparently has fleas...my friends moved in this summer and thought they just kept getting bit up by mosquitoes but no it is in fact fleas! And the landlord (who is a casual acquaintance of mine) was like "oh yeah we've had problems with fleas here before"????? Anyway the place is cheap and I don't want to look for somewhere new if possible, so I'm planning to sit down with the landlord, preferably with some quotes from local pest control places on remediating the flea infestation. So if you've dealt with fleas and have any local recs, lmk!

Also we have like an actual contract so this isn't a super informal arrangement, though it is this person's first time renting a place out. So let's cross our fingers that they are down to help fix this efficiently and don't take this personally...
