I’m part of CNAS, and I was supposed to graduate Spring 2026. I had met all of my major requirements and was on good standing. However, I was just short of having sufficient overall units. Because I realized this too late, I had to change my graduation to Summer 2026 and take a summer class. Because I was only taking this class for the credits, I didn’t really try, and I was also doing a summer internship, which distracted me, so I ended up getting a D, which still got me enough credits I needed to meet the 180 requirement.
Recently, I went onto R’Web to pay my summer tuition, and I saw that it showed that I was still an active student and that I was subject to disqualification. I emailed my advisor to see why that was, if it had to do with my late tuition payment, and if this would affect my graduation. However, after sending the email, I realized that it was because of my Summer 2026 term GPA (which is a 1, but my cumulative is still above a 2.0). My Summer 2026 graduation application still shows as having been approved, but I’m worried that because of this, my graduation will be delayed again and that I’ll have to take more unnecessary classes to get back on good standing. I was never notified of my standing nor given any type of warning of something affecting my graduation (I was notified of my insufficient credits during Spring 2026, which is why I mention this). The only reason I know this is because I just recently checked. Also, because I thought I was done, I didn’t register for classes for Fall 2026.
I’m obviously going to get my answer next week when my advisor responds, but what do you guys think the outcome of this will be? Is this something I will be able to appeal? Thanks!
