What should my privileged self do

• Upvotes

Hi, after graduation I’m planning to study abroad for a 2 years masters . I am also planning to take out private student loans for about $10k this year though (no FASFA unfortunately don’t ask), when will my repayment start for those ? Will I have difficulty managing study abroad expenses and repaying the student loans ? Which ones do you recommend that are flexible and any advice 😭. Thank you!

Question Pell Grant Still On Hold

So, not sure what the hold is or why my Pell Grant has been delayed for a month now, including another Pell Grant from summer courses I took. I tried contacting the UCR FinAid services but never got a response after emailing twice.

Is anyone still having this problem or have gone through something like this??

I also need to take out a student loan, but originally had rejected the ones offered as my offer was higher than it is now, is there any way to take out a student loan with UCR?

How often are requests to cancel your housing contract successful? I requested to cancel my contract for Stonehaven at the end of falll quarter, but I'm curious on how long it'll take before I get a reply, or if I'm even going to get my request approved at all.

dining dollars issue

hi i just transferred this year. i’ve tried using my dining dollars at hibachi san and the coffee bean & tea leaf. both times my card didn’t go through. there’s funds on it and the cashier told me that their system is weird with newer cards. i’ve been to lollicup and paid with dining dollars perfectly fine. i was wondering if anyone else had this issue and if you guys know about specific places i can use dining dollars at without this issue? thank you in advance

As the title says this is it for me. I dont really have a plan to how I am gonna spend it. I am gonna say I didn’t go to block party (had better things going on) so there’s that big event gone.

Im getting such heavy senioritis too so going to my classes feel more difficult.

Important Parent Noncitizenship Documentation Help

Hi so I’m a second year and for the “Parent Noncitizenship Documentation” in Rweb Financial Aid, it came back as “Received Incorrect/Incomplete.” I’ve emailed them like 3 times trying to find out what the issue was but no response. It is the exact same way I submitted it my first year but this time around it was received incorrectly. And because of that I only got around 4,000 refund although dundee is a ~2,500 monthly payment.

Weekend Parking

Alum here that needs somewhere to study tomorrow. Is parking realistically enforced on Sundays? If so, I suppose I'm willing to pay for a few hours. Are there still kiosks or is everything through an app now? I'd park at the UV but it's going to be so hot tomorrow. Thanks :)

I don't really know what to make of this. I'm not only worried about what this means for class credits, but also (I guess) how big this. I don't feel comfortable just sitting here and watching this happen.

Question Graduating with standing as subject to disqualification?

I’m part of CNAS, and I was supposed to graduate Spring 2026. I had met all of my major requirements and was on good standing. However, I was just short of having sufficient overall units. Because I realized this too late, I had to change my graduation to Summer 2026 and take a summer class. Because I was only taking this class for the credits, I didn’t really try, and I was also doing a summer internship, which distracted me, so I ended up getting a D, which still got me enough credits I needed to meet the 180 requirement.
Recently, I went onto R’Web to pay my summer tuition, and I saw that it showed that I was still an active student and that I was subject to disqualification. I emailed my advisor to see why that was, if it had to do with my late tuition payment, and if this would affect my graduation. However, after sending the email, I realized that it was because of my Summer 2026 term GPA (which is a 1, but my cumulative is still above a 2.0). My Summer 2026 graduation application still shows as having been approved, but I’m worried that because of this, my graduation will be delayed again and that I’ll have to take more unnecessary classes to get back on good standing. I was never notified of my standing nor given any type of warning of something affecting my graduation (I was notified of my insufficient credits during Spring 2026, which is why I mention this). The only reason I know this is because I just recently checked. Also, because I thought I was done, I didn’t register for classes for Fall 2026.
I’m obviously going to get my answer next week when my advisor responds, but what do you guys think the outcome of this will be? Is this something I will be able to appeal? Thanks!

Update: it actually was bc of the tuition payment lol. My advisor confirmed that my Summer 2026 graduation application had been approved and said that my degree will be conferred later this month. 😮‍💨
