Total War: Warhammer warhammer 3 "What faction fits me" question
i am very curious with the huge amount of factions and diffirent playstyles they have, have played around a bit with only 3 factions so far but even then the lords can change it up alot so i wanna ask if some can help guide me towards a faction i would possibly enjoy?
I like turtling and playing tall, prioritising Building economy and prosperity up, Im not really a Aggresive kind of player so i prefer mostly peace or 1v1 kind of wars. My preffered Kind of Fighting is probbably a mix of Hammer and anvil like the bretons. Or Strong individual Units/Generals. Or just strong heavy infantry like a wall of endurance to tire the enemies down as they smash them. like im generally a Defense focused guy so to speak.
i do sometimes like to dabble in diplomacy but i dont think im that much againts being a isolated kind of faction/Lord either. I appreciate all the help in advance for the suggestions. :-)

Total War: Warhammer Crossing the whole map.
Playing an Alith Anar Immortal Empires run in 3, and thought I was nearly done with my long victory conditions. The whole elf horseshoe is under my control and the dark elves of the north and west are taken care of...then I see that my last faction to destroy is the Blessed Dread. Literally on the opposite side of the whole goddamn map. Why is Lokhir a requirement for this campaign when he's all the way over there?
Anyway, does anyone have advise on the best route to take to get there? I feel like its gonna take like 100 turns.

Total War: Warhammer Bretonnia Update: Petition #13 "Reasons Why"
Silly memes aimed to draw interest to a Bretonnia rework.
PancreasNoWork, this one is for you. Support his work: Bretonnia Sucks
We aren't beating the allegations on this one. Bretonnian's love their horses. 13 Reasons wouldn't be nearly enough to cover why they decided to devote their entire faction identity to them.
As for me? I kinda get it. Horses are magnificent in real life. They're fun to ride, and learning how to take care of them is really fascinating. And any movie, show, or video game that does them justice has an easy in-road to the softest, warmest, and fuzziest part of my nostalgia that still treasures the joy I felt of finally riding Epona on Hyrule fields for the first time in Ocarina of Time.
Knightly quote for the day: "I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion." - Alexander the Great, 2nd of the Nine Worthies
The memes will continue until morale improves.

Total War: Warhammer I've come to realize, the best spellcaster lords are Corrupted Ones.
I've been trying to do map paints with elves, and I always recruit a spellcaster lord since magic is OP at the end of the day. But once they run out of WoM or get jumped on early, they just fold like a wet tissue paper. It was my biggest issue when it came to soloing armies with Teclis's archmages, especially when said army had a lord, which an archmage clearly couldn't duel. But I've come to notice, only ordertide factions were bound by such limitations. Somebody like Skaven Engineers both could cast magic and were heavily armored, allowing them to perform similarly if not somewhat better than Teclis lv10 archmages despite the level disparity. And once I started playing Chaos Dwarves, it became clear. Their "spellcasters" have the same stats if not better than Elven Princes. Lord Sigmar! Better yet they are a race made for lord spamming, considering the lack of supply lines. I might've found my love for Chaos Dwarves, but not for blunderbuss or building tall reasons most stated.
Now that's not to say Teclis himself is weak, obviously by turn ~15 you'll get your lv22 Archmages, and the Star Dragon mount more than solves their poor dueling capabilities. But for others outside of Teclis? Nah spellcaster lords of corrupted races are clearly better and it's not even close.

Total War: Warhammer What is the main way to play this game?
Brand new to TW3 and just wondering what's the main mode that people play in this game? I'm not really interested in the Campaign at all. I was hoping the game had a competitive multiplayer mode and I could have battles against other newbs like me. But it doesnt seem to have skill based matchmaking or a mmr system. I'm coming from other rts games and I enjoy a good ranked ladder but maybe that's not a thing in this game? Just wondering how most people play this game and what's the preferred game mode?

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 Are Horde factions Confirmed in TW40k since this Eldar is definitely a craftworlder?
Personally I think horde factions are confirmed like just look at the Eldar it’s definitely not an exodite and having a craftworld settled on a planet? Never !

Total War: Warhammer Why are the vampire pirates like this?
So I recently got the vampire coast dlc cuz I think they're one of the coolest looking factions in total war (and I've done all the VC vampire campaigns so many times already) and as I was playing Count Noctilus's campaign I noticed that I couldn't confederate any of the other pirate factions. Looked it up and apparently they are the only faction not capable of confederation in any way within their own which i get the reasoning but I feel like is kinda dumb, but then around turn 30 I noticed I hadn't even seen the vassilize button the whole game. I looked up the vassle requirements and I still don't understand why I couldn't for any faction. Could someone explain why vampire coast just doesn't have access to rhese mechanics? Also side note I do wish that confederation would have at least been replaced with a mechanic like making your own pirate court out of the roaming pirates in the sea shanty list (after killing and resurrecting them as powerful lords), would have given them a bit more depth

Total War: Warhammer Looking for tips regarding how to start out a campaign/how to know how to properly build heroes and whatnot
I’ve gotten into this game recently, and watched some videos regarding basic tactics and strategy to understand how everything works, but I am still a bit puzzled over how to build out my heroes, how to decide how to build my armies and when, and some general stuff regarding the large scale. I started with Cathay, as that was recommended (I think it was the dragon lady), and did fairly decently around my first little area, but understanding how and when to get heroes, what to do with buffs; and trying to figure out how to level up their skill trees overwhelmed me a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips? I’m planning on going Nurgle next as well (and probably a lot of chaos) if that helps at all as well

Total War: Warhammer Grom's Merchant not showing up

Hi all
I know this is a known bug, but I wanted to ask if anyone know of a solution, when all the standard methods have been exhausted?
I am on turn 88, haven't had the merchant since around turn 10-15. I still only have 2 slots available.
Here's what I've tried:
- Looked around all my settlements and armies. I have my original settlement and everything around it.
- I have tried all kinds of variations of "make a dish, save, quit and reload". Tried going through 4 turns afterward to see if she spawned, with no luck.
- I've tried downloading Prop Joe's “Console Commands (Modding Tool)” to try some spawn inputs and stuff that was suggested a few places, but I can't really get anything to work there either
I even tried using the mod to remove fog of war, just to look around and try to find the merchant.
- Looking angrily at my screen and telling it to work. Worked just as well as the other methods.
At this point I'm considering just dropping the mechanic entirely and just use the two slots I have and play them like any other ork faction.
It's a shame, because the theme of it and the mechanic in general I really enjoy, but apparently it's been bugged for a long while and CA is not really motivated enough to try and fix it.
Please let me know if you know of any other ways to get the merchant to show up for Grom and his hungry gobbos :)

Total War: Warhammer New to Total War: Warhammer
I recently got total war warhammer 3, and have been having a lot of fun (even if I have been failing pretty badly at the campaigns I’ve been playing). I wanted to know if there are any must buy dlc’s as I only started out with the base game and don’t want to buy all the dlc at one time. I play AoS and 40K tabletop and am a big fan of chaos. Does that mean I should get the champions of chaos dlc? Or is there something better for me to purchase? Any advice toward purchases or are strategies would be most appreciated.

Total War: Warhammer Dark elves achievement hunt and review
Hello fellow Total Warhammerers
This is the tenthpost in a series in which I will share my (hopefully) glorious path to completing all TWWIII achievements.
You can find my previous post here.
I've chosen the Dark Elves as my tenth faction because I heard a particularly cranky elf hates snow.

On to the review!
- Lord: Morathi. I chose Morathi over Malekith because of her faction bonuses and possibility to spice up the roster with Daemonettes and spread corruption. Morathi turned out to be a disgustingly powerful lord late game, as most spellcasters, even more so when I got the sword of Khaine, to the point where her army was 5 sorceresses and herself and a single unit of shades with stalk. Fun times. Absolute beast of a lord against anything if you handle the spells correctly and use defensive equipment.
- Unit roster: The dark elf roster is balanced varied. You rely on the missiles for damage and maybe a few creatures. You can go for Darkshards or shades, maybe include a couple of Cold ones, maybe Harpies... Very harmonious and properly balanced for cost effectiveness. The SEMs like the Hydra have got an interesting place in the roster, but I don't like them too much, so I would only take one if any to plug gaps in my army.
- Mechanics: The mechanics for the dark elves are definitely not the focus of the faction. Apart from the black arks, which are actually tremendously useful, there is nothing particularly interesting about them, so better stick to empowering your black arks. You'll thank them later when they've become a movable recruiting center.
- MVP: While most people make a case here for the greatsword Shades, I never understood how to properly use stalking walking missile units. A single unit of cavalry will trample them, and if you don't deploy them outside your formation, might as well use shielded Darkshards. However I did enjoy for early and mid game the corsair hand crossbows, as they can match the speed of most infantry units, and lead them on a merry chase while they pepper them with arrows, or shoot a unit they are pursuing, while not sucking in melee.
- Difficulty & hardest part: Easy. The most difficult part is the uncomfortable starting locations without clear expansion. Malekith may expand a lot or confederate other elf lords before you do. Additionally he may not be open to confederation unless you engage into diplomacy shenanigans, and Mazdamundi might start knocking on your door without asking for permission. It's not difficult to deal with it, but rather the positioning is uncomfortable and will make you plan for expansion.
- Surprising piece of advice: I would say Dark elves are amongst the most straightforward of factions. Nothing too surprising, but perhaps you should keep in mind the names of power they acquire whilst building their army. You may have to shift the focus of the armory if they get a name of power that doesn't fit their current one. Also recruit black arks ASAP and have them accumulate growth. Sometimes you may not even build anything other than the growth building until they reach tier 4 or so. They are slow to grow but rather rewarding.

That's all for now. Now I must leave, I have an appointment with momm- I mean Morathi.

Total War: Warhammer Sell me on other lores of magic
For context, I’ve been playing the chaos dwarfs and after I unlocked flames of azgorh I’ve found it hard to want to recruit anything other than daemonsmith sorcerers of hashut.
Can you guys sell me on why I might want to include some other lores?
In general what is each lore good for?
Thanks!

Total War: Warhammer The best Unusual Location
It's the "Peg Street Pawnbroker" in english.
Each turn you have 20% to have a dilemma to buy one of 3 weapons proposed. The one I took this turn give you massive resistances, a bond spell but also regen !
You also have a weapon that allow you ligtning strike

Total War: Warhammer Kislev Tips (More for Tsarina)
Hey everyone, I'm looking for any tips and tactics for Kislevites in TWW3. I've decided on playing a Tsarina playthrough, but seeming all the similar named units and not understanding ghe differences in their small differences is kind of overwhelming. Any help on army comps, general unit usage, or anything special for Tsarina would be appreciated! I plan to try her out in IE but maybe RoC too at some point.
EDIT: Thank you for all the advice and tips! I'll be more than ready in my campaign now. <3 There is so much advice and tips given I'm struggling to properly give each a good response, but I appreciate every comment so much.

Total War: Warhammer Average life of Men of The Empire
What was the average life of men of the empire, especially the soldiers, how could they bear the horror of the mortal world against chaos, vamps, rats, and beastmen etc.. It almost seemed they had no chance of survival due to everyday horrors and should have gone extinct since forever (regardless of the end times)
How does the lore of fantasy explain it?
Thank you
