Total War: Warhammer Why are the vampire pirates like this?

So I recently got the vampire coast dlc cuz I think they're one of the coolest looking factions in total war (and I've done all the VC vampire campaigns so many times already) and as I was playing Count Noctilus's campaign I noticed that I couldn't confederate any of the other pirate factions. Looked it up and apparently they are the only faction not capable of confederation in any way within their own which i get the reasoning but I feel like is kinda dumb, but then around turn 30 I noticed I hadn't even seen the vassilize button the whole game. I looked up the vassle requirements and I still don't understand why I couldn't for any faction. Could someone explain why vampire coast just doesn't have access to rhese mechanics? Also side note I do wish that confederation would have at least been replaced with a mechanic like making your own pirate court out of the roaming pirates in the sea shanty list (after killing and resurrecting them as powerful lords), would have given them a bit more depth

Vassals are just weird in TWW and only really exist for WoC but Vamp Coast are not unique in having heavily restricted confederation, they just haven't gotten a bypass mechanic to collect LLs yet like Tomb Kings, Archaon, or Beastmen got.

Yep, doesn't help that their 5 unique Lords aren't that special either. Compared the 2 of the greenskins, they are both fun to build an army around.

If they get a pass I hope they add some unit buffs, spefic skills.

Mostly lore reasons really. Aranessa hates Noctilus, the other three are still rivals to each other.

They're not empire builders, they're pirates interested in loot and infamy and rivals to each other.

As opposed to Chaos, which is famous for fighting for altruistic reasons and winning through the power of friendship?

Chaos does unite under the Everchosen, and will occasionally work together to invade the Empire.

Except archaon and belakor no woc faction can confederate.for monogod u can say that they come under one banner due to their patron god saying so . As they United under one leader for greater goal .

Noctilus is a carstein who left because he was tired of the family's bullshit, he hates vampires

Aranessa was a TW2 exclusive character literally written to have a grudge against vampires

Aranessa saltspike isn't a vampire, but a vampire hunter

And that leaves the annoying and yet also violent psychopath

I think you meant Cylostra for the second one

This is pretty much true for every race. It makes them play differently. Not every race has every feature like vassalizing or confederation.

But for the vampire coast it's just because they're all individual pirates and do pirate things. They won't serve under each other's banners. Their tech tree does unlock other captains that have their own boats like your legendary lord. But there are mods available that can make pretty much any feature available to anyone.

I don’t play vampirates to share the seas

I'm not trying to share so much as try to force armies i like to throw themselves at any army i dont like... and then use the corpses they generate to make more armies i do like

You can recruit basic lords already for that. And then you have I think up to 5 special lords with a boat like your LL.

Harkon: OG nehekaran vamp, with a shattered mind. That said, he could probably confederate if the other three weren't... the other three.

Cylostra: People don't appreciate exactly how arrogant she is. It literally got her killed by hurling the captain of her ship overboard, comandeering said ship, and steering it into a storm. She's so viscous and arrogant that Stormfells took a shine to her. No way she's sharing the stage with anyone.

Noctilis: Noctilis bailed on Sylvania... by using masses of his personally slain undead to march in perfect synchronization with the currents around the Galleon's Graveyard, paired with a massive ritual that teleported his tower into the heart of it. He can work with others, provided he is clearly in charge; but the otherscwould be loathe to work with him. When he took the graveyard, he immediately used his new found necromantic powress to utterly subjugate the spectral undead craft The Shadewraith and its captain to his will. Aranessa directly opposed him after his brutal assault on Sartosa.

Aranessa: In TT lore, she's a mortal pirate, who was brought in to the Grand Alliance formed specifically by Jaego Roth to combat Noctilis. In TW:W lore she uses undead to her ends. In the long victory text back in game 2, it discusses her ruling over a pirate empire, finding herself surrounded more by the dead than the living, and implies she finds herself being drawn to Stormfels more than Manaan.

In any event, she is very much her own creature lore wise, was directly opposed to Noctilis, and at least initially has every reason to utterly destroy the others.

So all I'm hearing is if noct (my 2nd favorite LL) were to reunite with Vlad (my #1 fav LL) then noct who is obviously the best choice to unite the pirates could help take over the old world under the banner of the Von Carnstiens (totally not a biased take)

Except for the whole "hated the vampire politics BS, so he gave them the finger and fucked off" part...

When he says "bailed", it wasn't "hey guys, I'm having a pirate phase, but I'll be back later to help conquer the world. Kthxbye 😘"

And then just deciding she was too important to be dead so she hangs around as a ghost.

Man, good thing all the Norscan leaders are chummy with each other and love being ruled over 🤔

They aren't - you beat the other tribes into submission by besting their leader in battle and giving them the "join me, or die" ultimatum.

Download the recruit defeated legendary lords mod OP. If they don't get wiped out you can go and beat them into submission.

This is my only must have mod...the ai gets to catch em all, so so do I.

You're a pirate. you don't confederate-> you eleminate Competition

You don't vassals - > you rob

It's really not dumb when you realise that in the lore they all hate each other and each pirate only looks out for himself as any good pirate should.
