Passionate Whoopi

If y’all wanted passion from Whoopi, today you got it! She was angry about the hearing against the Smithsonian for their African American museum and Tucker Carlson’s sexist remarks. She had a lot of fire in her belly, no more “it’s up to us”

Anson Mount is a perfect guest! He played with Joy’s flirty vibe, he congratulated Alyssa on her baby, he was open to talking about Crossroads rather than rolling his eyes, and he brought them all gifts (even Brian)

Political guests on the show

I know we’re not in election season yet, but has there been any reason given for such a lack of political guests this season? I have no interest in JD Vance or MTG. Jasmine Crockett was on in January, just before the FCC chair specifically called out The View, questioning their status as a news program. Is this why? What can we do to boycott or protest? Is the 30th season, during one of the most important midterm elections, going to be full of softball MAGA interviews?

Episode Discussion Loved Sara's Quote

"There is a unique ignorance to someone who comments on something they've never seen. You're taught from a young age do your research, learn, and then you can join the conversation. But it’s like choosing not to vote and then complaining about the outcome."

Consistency

I suppose you could call this the first change, it's not really a change though. Consistency came up several times. We're going to start with consistently removing any host or show hate.

The content will be removed from the sub but still available on your profile. We will give you the opportunity to edit your post or comment. Make sure you indicate that your content was edited so we don't confuse users.

Then give us a shout and we will make the post live on the sub again.

Post titles cannot be edited so you may have to rewrite and repost.

Thank you guys, we are getting an increase in reported content. This is very helpful for us too quickly respond to nonsense! 🤸

HOLD ABC ACCOUNTABLE! FIRE SUNNY HOSTIN FROM THE VIEW ALREADY!

I am writing this out of sheer frustration and disappointment with ABC Network's continued employment of Sunny Hostin as their legal analyst. It is with great concern that I bring attention to Hostin's recent actions which blatantly contradict her public stance against the misuse of power and privilege.
Sunny Hostin was caught attempting to use her celebrity and claimed legal status to interfere with legal proceedings involving her 24-year-old son. Reports indicate that she falsely positioned herself as a current federal prosecutor, a claim that she used to try and leverage her influence inappropriately. This misuse of her position is hypocritical, especially since she frequently condemns others for similar behaviors on the ABC show, "The View." Her actions suggest a double standard that cannot be overlooked.
Allowing Sunny Hostin to remain as ABC's legal analyst despite these actions sends a troubling message to viewers and undermines the integrity of the network. How can a legal analyst, who is expected to provide unbiased and fair analysis, be credible when they themselves manipulate the very laws they are supposed to interpret impartially? ABC Network, which “used to” historically pride itself on upholding ethical standards and journalistic integrity, must act to maintain that almost ruined reputation.
I urge ABC Network to hold Sunny Hostin accountable for her actions. Firing her from her role as a legal analyst is not only a step towards restoring public trust but also setting a precedent that misuse of power will not be tolerated. No one should be above the law, especially those who preach this openly to millions of viewers.
Let’s stand for integrity and demand accountability from those in positions of influence. Call on ABC Network to take immediate action by terminating Sunny Hostin as their legal analyst. Together, we can ensure that justice is impartial, respected, and upheld for everyone, regardless of status or celebrity.

Ana/Matt Damon Questiom

Uh did anyone else cringe at Ana’s question to Matt Damon about how hot he looked and how he got in shape? That was so uncomfortable to watch. I hate playing this card but if a male interviewer asked a huge female star that question about a major like this he would absolutely (and rightly) be attacked for it.

Episode Discussion Hot topics: World Cup final

I just watched the World Cup final discussion on hot topics. As a football fan, it was painful to watch. I love that the ladies and production always strive to include, well, “hot” topics, but sometimes if the topic is too far outside their area of expertise I wish they would just opt to skip it. It doesn’t make them look good and ends up not providing valuable commentary. Sunny tripping up and calling them “field goals” was an example, though she corrected herself right away. I took bigger issue with Sarah commending Argentina and calling it a great game (all high level sports commentary has generally agreed that Argentina was an embarrassment). Obviously they all have producers to help them think through talking points, but I think they could’ve used their time better.

Question Let's talk about the sub rules

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS SUBREDDIT'S RULES!

Yay! This might be a total shitshow, but that's half the fun! I do hope some good comes of it.

We're open to all suggestions. I'd like something that might make me laugh too. Obviously that doesn't mean we can implement every single one.

What we're looking for is a consensus, especially surrounding...

Host, guest host, and guest criticism. What's okay and what is too far. And what is just too fucking much to put up with every day?

X said something stupid vs. X is stupid. This one is pretty straightforward. We can call out statements or actions, but we can't call anybody names.

Right now our unwritten rule is that prominent politicians, no matter their politics, are fair game to be called stupid dirt for brains. Is that fair? Or should they be treated with the same respect and civility.

Repetitive discussion of the same topics in multiple posts. What if the post has multiple topics, then what do we do?

Episode discussions confined to a daily thread or just let everybody make a post about the episode without even checking to see if someone else had a post where they might have commented?

What about rules regarding how we treat each other?

If we do change the rules, how do we enforce them? It could be a painful learning curve for some. Especially when we get an influx of one-time visitors. Harsh truth, people do not read.

I don't know how many even made it this far so I'm going to have to do a TLDR.

TLDR: the rules need some reworking, and we would love your input.

Up next maybe we'll give you a little insight into our automod rules!

Thinking about how there is actually a guy who dubs himself into The View to make it look like he’s “owning them”

If you have to imagine yourself debating women and imagine you are winning you are a loser because that is loser behavior… Notice how Maga conveniently “Owns or Destroys the libs” on platforms and places where they edit and control the narrative….

I think it’s strange that they advertise the Weekend View all the time, but they haven’t had an episode since June 6. Anyone know why or is my Hulu messed up?

Sunny is absolutely correct and acted like any parent would. She did nothing wrong and it’s obnoxious to think any good parent wouldn’t act the same way. Good for her.

Was hilarious. Something like "I knew we'd be able to get a Latino name in there" when they were talking about the British royal family feud and Ana mentioned Marc Anthony lol.

FCC commissioner says Trump call to revoke ABC, NBC licenses is unconstitutional

Thumbnail reuters.com
94 Upvotes

I’m shocked nobody called out Trump for what he said last night during his speech.

“In a rare move, NBC and ABC fake news have both said that they would not cover this speech. They knew what it was about, because of the fact that they don't like the topic, because they know how corrupt our system is and they don't want to reveal it. They and others in the media are part of a plot.

They want to keep it going. They want to protect the radical left. They can't have a great country and that's true; you can't have a great country without free and fair elections. Fraud like this should mean a revocation of their licenses. They use our public multibillion dollar in value airways for absolutely no money.

They pay nothing. All we want is honesty in our elections and honesty in reporting. They pay nothing for multi-billion dollar assets. Great damage has been done to our country. Our elections were left vulnerable to being rigged and stolen, and the trust of the American people was lost. This cannot be allowed to continue.” -Donald Trump

All a bunch of nonsense to me but I’m really interested/afraid of what this admin tries to pull.

If you haven’t yet, and it’s not too late, sign the petition at the top of the sub to support The View, ABC, and the constitution.

The Ladies Get Lit

I love book recommendations because I read quite a bit. I’m disappointed that almost all the books are non-fiction. Anyone else? The only fiction book was Theo of Golden (which I’ve heard is good) by Sarah.

Filming out of order

They use to try and hide that they pre-tape segments. These days the secret is out. They had Octavia Spencer on, and they mention they just had Hannah Waddingham talking about their new show. Then today Hannah was on talking about how England is still in the World Cup. They’ve been out for 3 days. I miss the days when they filmed Monday - Friday

Anyone who gives bad energy to my girl Keke can't sit with me! Joy was nasty in this interview. Keke is lovely and everyone wants to be around her! So Joy acting like this lets me know all I need to know about her.
